1 Qlikview and TFS integration The set of softwares and applications required to be installed on the system for Qlikview and TFS integration are as follows: 1. Qlikview 2. Team Foundation Server 2015 Update 1 3. Microsoft SQL Server Microsoft Visual Studio Team Explorer (Is explicitly required to be installed if it is not included in Visual Studio) 6. Microsoft Team Foundation Server MSSCCI Provider 32 bit After all the required softwares as listed above are installed in the server machine the user can proceed with the following steps for qlikview version controlling using Team Foundation Server. The following are the steps to be followed: 1. Creating a Team Project Collection Go to Team Foundation Server Administration Console Select Team Project Collections on the left hand pane Click on the Create Collection option on the right side

2 Enter the desired Collection Name and the description for the same, if required. Click the next button until you reach the last step of Complete and get the following successful configuration message- Your Team Project Collection has been successfully created and configured.

3 Click the close button 2. Connecting to TFS and addition of Team Project In Microsoft Visual Studio, Open Team Explorer window. Click on Manage Connections icon and click on Manage Connections Click on Connect to Team Project Connect to Team Foundation Server window pops up. Select the Team Foundation Server and the Team Project Collection and Click on Connect.

4 3. Mapping the local path In Microsoft Visual Studio, in the Source Control Explorer window, Right Click on the Collection name in the folders section.

5 Click on Advanced option and Select Map to Local Folder. Click on Map. 4. Creating New Team Project In the Source Control Explorer of Microsoft Visual Studio, Click on File menu Click on New and Select Team Project option

6 Enter the Name for the Team Project and optionally the description for the same and click Next.

7 Select the Process Template for the Team Project (Agile) and click Next. Choose the Version Control System for the Team Project (Team Foundation Version Control) and Click Next.

8 On the last screen all the previously selected options can be viewed. Click Finish to proceed. 5. Qlikview Source Control Settings In Qlikview, Goto File->Source Control->Settings

Source Control Settings Window Pops up Select QlikView Msscci Provider *32 in the Source Control Providers drop down list menu. And click on Settings.

Select the MSSCCI Provider DLL file named TfsMsscciProvider.dll found in the path location C:\Program Files (x86)\microsoft Team Foundation Server MSSCCI Provider\TfsMsscciProvider.dll

10 Select OK 6. Adding Qlikview Project to Source Control Save the Qlikview File which is to be added to the source control in the TeamProject Folder of the Local path which is mapped in the Source Control Explorer. In Qlikview application which is to be added, Click on File->Source Control->Add Project to Source Control

11 In the Checkin Popup window, enter the comments and click on Checkin.

12 The Project gets added to Source Control and it can be seen in the Source Control Explorer of Microsoft Visual Studio. 7. Checkin Changes to Source Control Explorer After the changes are made to the existing qlikview file and saved, in order to checkin the changes, go to File->Source Control->Check In Pending Changes

13 Enter the comments in the Checkin popup window and click on Checkin Again enter the comments to commit the changes in the Properties and Project xml files and click Checkin

14 8. Getting Project from Source Control On opening a new Qlikview File, Goto File->Source Control->Get Project from Source Control

Name add the URL from Team Foundation Server

15 Connect to a Team Foundation Server window pops up Click on Servers and in the Team Foundation Server Name add the URL from Team Foundation Server Administration Console as highlighted in the image at bottom.

16 Click on OK and close window. Select the added Team Foundation Server name to Connect and Click OK Choose Folder in Team Foundation Server window pops up. Expand the Folder Location and select the desired Team Project Folder and eventualy the desired Application prj folder and click OK.

17 Click OK to overwrite the file from Source Control. The Project Opens up from Source Control

18 9. RollBack Changes In the Source Control Explorer, in the folders pane, Right Click on the prj folder in which it is required to Rollback changes and Select Rollback. RollBack window pops up. Click on Find Changeset option as highlighted

19 In the Find Changesets window Find the Changeset, Select the ChangeSet and click OK. Click on RollBack in the RollBack window (Changeset selected in previous window appears here)

20 In Source Control Explorer, Add Comments and Click Check in. Click Ok on Check in Confirmation. Now if the same qlikview project is retrieved in the desktop by using Get Project from Source Control, Rollback changes can be seen in the File.
