2 Introduction: The Site map editor is a windows application that can be used to customize the site-map for CRM online (configured for both office 365 and windows live id) account, on-premise as well as for IFD version of MS dynamics CRM Installation: In order to install the application open the folder containing the installation package and double click on any of the two applications(crm2011 Sitemap Editor.msi/setup.exe). Go through the steps provided in order to complete the process of installation. Functionality: Logging into the Organization:- After the installation process is complete a short-cut to the application will get created on the desktop. We can also open the application by typing sitemap editor in the search box in the windows menu-bar or navigating to Windows->All Programs->CRM2011 SiteMap Editor-> CRM2011 SiteMap Editor. This will pop-up a window same as below.

3 Select the CRM setup type as per the requirement and live id/office 365 depending upon the type of configured online account. Enter the server URL and port address if it s an on-premise /IFD version and the server URL if it s a CRM live account. Then enter the User name and password and press the submit in order to get the list of the organizations in the below mentioned box in the UI. Select an organization and then click connect. Editing the site-map:- In order to start the customization process we have to first import the site map from the CRM. This can be done by clicking on the Import From CRM button placed at the top left corner of the UI. This will show the nodes/areas of the navigation pane in the box. We can see the default Areas as well any other customized area in the box. We can expand the nodes in order to see the groups and subareas under the areas and groups respectively. In order to add an Area we can click on Add Area button, in order to add a group under an area we have to select an area and so on.

4 Adding an Area:- In order to add an area to the navigation pane click on Add Area button present next to Import from CRM button this will pop up a window like the one shown below. Enter an Id and/or an image (a URL to a 16x16 pixel image) that will be displayed in the Navigation pane for this area. Check Show Group if you want to show the groups of sub-areas in the navigation pane. Adding a Group:- In order to add a group under an area to the navigation pane click on a area node and then click on the Add Group button present next to Add Area button which will pop up a window like the one shown below. Enter an Id for the group and click on OK to save the group. Adding a Sub Area:- In order to add a sub area under a group select a group under an area and click on Add Sub-Area button to get a window similar to the below image. Enter an Id and/or an image URL to a 16x16 pixel image that will be the icon for this subarea. And based on the requirement you can enter either an URL or can select an entity in the dropdown list to show them on the dash board.

5 The up and down buttons:- The up and down buttons present next to the Add Group button are used to move the nodes up and down through the sitemap. Deleting A Node:- In order to delete a node and all the sub-nodes click on any node and click on the Delete button, a confirmation message will popup. Upon selecting Yes the node along with all the sub- nodes will get deleted.

6 The Save and Publish button:- In order to save any unsaved changes click on the Save and Publish button. Update changes to an existing node:- When we want to make some changes to some area/group/sub area select on any of them and make the changes on the right side as mentioned in the below picture and click on Save and Publish button.
