4 To Log onto Energy Management Analysis (EMA) Website 1. Go to A LOGON page is displayed. Note: You will be issued a permanent Username, and a temporary Password via when your system is initially registered. 2. Enter your Username. 3. Enter your Password. Note: Both your Username and Password are case sensitive. 4
5 4. Press Login Button. This system will direct you to your specific Customer List page within the Installer Portal section of the EMA website. Note: You will not have any customers in your Customer View List the first time you logon to the system. To Add a New Customer Installation There are four (4) major steps involved in adding a new customer to the EMA. Step 1: Configure Customer Information Step 2: Configure ECU Information Step 3: Configure Inverter Information Step 4: Installation Layout 5
6 Step 1: Configure Customer Information 1. Log onto the EMA website. The system will direct you to your specific Customer List page within the Installer Portal section of the EMA website. 2. Select the REGISTRATION icon at the top of the page. REGISTRATION ICON 6
7 NEW INSTALLATION page is displayed. 3. Fill in new customer details by field, making sure to include all required information. Username: This is a single name (typically the customer s last name) that will identify this specific customer s installation. The Username will appear in the customer s area of the EMA website. User names are not case sensitive. (Required) Password: This is a temporary password that will be ed to your customer so they 7
8 can access their area of the EMA website. Your customer can change the password should they so choose. (Required) Confirm Password: Enter the password again to confirm. (Required) This is your customer s address. This is used to password notification(s), etc. to your customer. APS also uses this address to send your customer system related notifications, such as planned system Maintenance messages. (Required) First Name: This is your customer s first name. (Required) Last Name: This is your customer s last name. (Optional) Phone Number: This is your customer s phone number. (Optional) Installation Company: Pull down to select a specific Installation Company that has been registered in our database. (Required) Country: Pull down to select customer s country. (Required) State/Province: Customer s state. (Required) City: Customer s city. (Required) Address: Customer s street address. (Optional) Postal Code: Customer s Postal Zip Code. (Optional) System Size: Calculate the overall system size and enter it here. (Optional) Allow visitors to access this site: Select to authorize visitor access. (Optional) Note: You can embed the EMA data for this specific customer into an outside database. See: Embedding EMA in Website Reference available from APS. 8
9 Feedin Tariff: Tariff is dependent on specific location/state. (Optional) Remarks: This area is for you to add notes that are helpful to you at a later date. (Optional) 4. Press Next button. Note: Once you have pressed Next or Submit buttons for any of the major steps (1-4), your customer information is saved in the system and you can step away from the process and resume by selecting Incomplete Registered User (See page 22 To Resume an Incomplete Registration). The ECU Configuration page is displayed. ECU ID ECU ID TIME ZONE Step 2: Configure ECU Information 5. Enter the 12 digit ECU ID number(s) into the ECU ID field. The ECU ID number is located on the top of the ECU, as well as on the front flap of the shipping box (see the following page). 9
10 Note: The ECU ID number is a unique APS software serial number that is assigned to the ECU during manufacture. It is NOT the IP Address of the device. It is critical that you enter the ECU ID correctly because the EMA uses this number to identify the system it is monitoring and reporting. 11 Once you have entered all of the ECU ID numbers for specific location/installation 8. Press Next button. Micro-inverter page is displayed. ECU ID Number Inverter Type Inverter UID Number Entry Field Step 3: Configure Inverters In this step you assign the inverters to their controlling, or associated, ECUs. 9. Select the ECU (in Choose the ECU selection field) you want to assign inverters to. 10. Select the inverter type in Inverter Type field. Note: If you select YC500 you ll be asked to select specific channels (A, B, or A&B). Typically you ll select A&B because the YC500 is designed to connect to two (2) panels, 11
12 but there are times when you ll only want to connect to one (in the case of an uneven number of panels). 11. Enter the 12 digit inverter number(s) into the Inverter ID field. The Inverter ID numbers are located the top of the inverter, as well as the back flap of the shipping box (see next page) Inverter ID Number on the top of the inverter Inverter ID Number Inverter ID Number on back flap of shipping box Inverter ID Number Once you have entered all of the Inverter ID numbers associated with an ECU 12. Press Add button. 12
13 The Inverter List is displayed below the inverter entry fields. 13. Press Next button. Inverter List The Installation Layout page is displayed. 13
14 ECU ID Group View Name Layout Angle PV Module Name Step 4: Installation Layout There are two (2) approaches to laying out the panel installation; allowing the system to do it for you automatically, or laying out the panels manually. Laying out the panels manually allows you set up the system exactly how it is actually installed. Manually laying out the installation is for more complex, while doing it automatically is best suited for relatively simple column and row installs. Installation Layout Automatic Note: Skip to the next section (Installation Layout Manual) if you have a more complex layout and plan to layout the installation manually. 14.Select the ECU ID number associated with the system you are wanted to layout. 15.Enter a Group View Name into the Group View Name field. 14
15 Note: You may want to organize the installation into more than one group. If so, name each group differently. 16.Select the angle of the layout (as it relates to True North). Note: There are four (4) selections you can make; 0 = North, 90 = East, 180 = South, 270 = West. 17. Select PV Module Brand by Name. 18. Check Automatically create layout view box. The Row and Column fields are displayed. Rows Field Columns Field Start Automatic Layout Button Note: horizontal. Enter the number of Rows, and Columns. Rows are vertical, Columns are 19. Press the Start automatic layout button. 15
16 The Installation layout view list is displayed. Layout view list 20. Press Next button. The Drawings Upload Page is displayed. Note: Uploading a drawing of the site layout is an optional step. It is recommended that you do upload a drawing of the site if you have one in a digital form. It will assist you remembering the overall system design if you need to troubleshoot possible system failure issues in the future. 16
17 Select Files button Automatically send checkbox Complete Registration button 21. Check Automatically send to the customer checkbox if you want the system to automatically send an to your customer notifying them of their system registration. The will include the customer s Username and Password. 22. Press Complete Registration button when the registration is complete. The system returns a message indicating the registration is complete. 17
18 Installation Layout Manual Installation Layout Page ECU ID Group View Name Layout Angle PV Module Name 14.Select the ECU ID number associated with the system you are wanted to layout. 15.Enter a Group View Name into the Group View Name field. Note: You may want to organize the installation into more than one group. If so, name each group differently. 16.Select the angle of the layout (as it relates to True North). Note: There are four (4) selections you can make; 0 = North, 90 = East, 180 = South, 270 = West. 17. Select PV Module Brand by Name. 18. Press Manual layout button. 18
19 The manual configuration page is displayed. Inverter IDs you have entered Manual Layout Area Note: Each of the inverters has a side. In the case of the YC500 Micro-inverters, it has two sides; an A-side and a B-Side, as represented in the Inverter UID list you have put together. Each one of these inverter sides represents a single solar panel. 19.Drag and drop each panel onto the Manual Layout area, positioning each as it is actually placed on your site map, being careful to position each in the correct order, etc. 19
20 Panels Note that in this example (previous page) four (4) of the panels are vertically oriented, and four (4) are horizontally oriented. You can change the orientation by selecting the change orientation button in the lower part of the panel icon (see below). Change Orientation Button Delete Panel You can also remove the panel from layout area by selecting the delete panel button. Double clicking on this icon allows you to change the panel type. 20
21 Note: Deleting the panel from the layout area does not remove the panel from your system, it places it back into the list area to the left of the layout area. 20. Press Save button. 21. To Resume an Incomplete Registration Once you have pressed Next or Submit buttons for any of the major steps (1-4), your customer information is saved in the system and you can step away from the process and resume by selecting Incomplete Registered User under User Management in the side bar area. 1. Log onto the EMA website. This system will direct you to your specific Customer List page within the Installer Portal section of the EMA website. REGISTRATION ICON 22
23 2. Select the REGISTRATION icon at the top of the page. NEW INSTALLATION page is displayed. INCOMPLETE REGISTERED USER Tab 23
24 3. Select Incomplete Registered Customer. The list of incomplete customer registrations is displayed. 4. Select the customer (User Account) you want to complete. 5. Continue from where you left off. To Change an Existing Customer s Password 1. Log onto the EMA website. This system will direct you to your specific Customer List page within the Installer Portal section of the EMA website. 24
25 2. Select the customer that wants to have password changed. The customer s information page is displayed, along with a Modify Password section at the bottom of the page. New Password Field Confirmation Field Submit Button 3. Enter the New Password. 4. Confirm the New Password by entering it again in the Confirmation Field. 5. Press Submit button. To Modify an Existing User Account You ll want to modify an existing user account when you change out an ECU or inverter. Modifying an ECU Record 1. Log into the EMA. 2. Select the customer account that needs to be modified. You can either scroll to the user, or enter the user s name, or the specific user s ECU ID to find the user record you are wanting to modify. 25
26 First Name UserName ECU ID Query 3. Press the Query button. The user account record you are wanting to modify is displayed in a list form. If you have entered a name, and you have two customers with the same name, then a list of those customers is displayed. 4. Select the user account you want to modify. The Customer Info Configuration page is displayed. ECU Tab 5. Select the ECU tab. The ECUs assigned to this specific user is displayed. 26
27 Modify Icon 6. Select the Modify icon within the list. The Modify ECU Information form is displayed. ECU ID 7. Modify the ECU UID. 8. Press Submit button. The Customer Info Configuration page is displayed reflecting the ECU UID change. At this point, the change has been saved in the database. Note: Make it a practice to verify the modification by logging onto the user s account to see that the modifications have been successfully implemented. 27
28 Modifying an Inverter Record 1. Log into the EMA. 2. Select the customer account that needs to be modified. You can either scroll to the user, or enter the user s name, or the specific user s ECU ID to find the user record you are wanting to modify. First Name UserName ECU ID Query 3. Press the Query button. The user account record you are wanting to modify is displayed in a list form. If you have entered a name, and you have two customers with the same name, then a list of those customers is displayed. 4. Select the user account you want to modify. The Customer Info Configuration page is displayed. Inverter Tab 28
29 5. Select the Inverter tab. The inverters assigned to this specific user are displayed. Modify Icon 6. Select the Modify icon within the list. The Modify Inverter Information form is displayed. Inverter ID 29
30 7. Modify the Inverter ID. 8. Press Submit button. The Customer Info Configuration page is displayed reflecting the Inverter ID change. At this point, the change has been saved in the database. Note: Make it a practice to verify the modification by logging onto the user s account to see that the modifications have been successfully implemented. To Add PV Panel Information Adding panel information relates specifically to the PV module name on the Installation Layout page. This information creates the pull down selections. PV module name 30
31 1. Log onto the EMA website. The system will direct you to your specific Customer List page within the Installer Portal section of the EMA website. 2. Select the REGISTRATION icon at the top of the page. REGISTRATION ICON NEW INSTALLATION page is displayed. 31

33 4. Enter the required information in the form. 5. Press the Add button. To Change Your Own Password 1. Log into the EMA. Settings 33
34 2. Select Settings at the top right side of the page. Your Deal/Distributor Information page is displayed. 3. Enter your new password word near the bottom of the page. 4. Re-enter the new password to confirm. 5. Press Submit button. 34
35 To View a Customer s Dashboard 1. Log onto the EMA website. This system will direct you to your specific Customer List page within the Installer Portal section of the EMA website. 2. Select a customer whose Dashboard you want to view. The Customer Info Configuration page is displayed. DASHBOARD Tab 35
36 3. Select the DASHBOARD Tab The customer s DASHBOARD is displayed. 36
37 An Introduction to the Dashboard ECU ID POWER GENERATION Query Date Query Button Power Graph Power Equivalents Total Power Generated Current Generation ECU ID: This is the ECU ID that is assigned to this customer s system. Use the pull down if there are more than one ECU assigned to this installation. POWER GENERATION: This is a pull down menu that allows you to select timeframe for the dashboard: TODAY, WEEK, MONTH, YEAR, LIFETIME. Query Date: Select query date. Query Button: Click on the Query Button once you have the ECU, timeframe and date selected to get information for that specific enquiry Power Graph: Graphic representation of the power generated for the specific enquiry. 37
38 Current Generation: Graphic representation of the current energy being generated. Total Power Generated: (POWER GENERATION). The total power generated for the specified timeframe Power Equivalents: and savings. Represents the financial and environmental equivalent benefits To View a Customer s Modules 1. Log onto the EMA website. This system will direct you to your specific Customer List page within the Installer Portal section of the EMA website. 2. Select a customer whose Modules you want to view. The Customer Info Configuration page is displayed. 38
39 MODULE POWER Tab 3. Select the MODULE POWER Tab. The customer s Module and Configuration page is displayed. To View Inverter Performance Characteristics 1. Log onto the EMA website. This system will direct you to your specific Customer List page within the Installer Portal section of the EMA website. 39
40 2. Select a customer whose Inverters you want to view. The Customer Info Configuration page is displayed. PERFORMANCE GRAPH 3. Select the PERFORMANCE GRAPH Tab. The Performance Graph is displayed. The Performance Graph page initially displays the DC Power Graph for first inverter in the list of inverters. 40

This is the section of the site that allows you to view both the DC and AC characteristics for each inverter. Viewing an Inverter s DC Power 1. Select the inverter number you want to view. 2. Select the DC toggle. 3. Select the inverter side you want to view (A or B). 4. Select the date you want have graphed. 41

53 Energy Detail/DC/AC Configuration To Configure an Existing Customer s ECU Remotely 1. Log onto the EMA website. This system will direct you to your specific Customer List page within the Installer Portal section of the EMA website. Configure Tab 53
54 2. Select a customer whose ECU you want to configure. 3. Click the configure tab. The system configure page is displayed. An Introduction to System Configuration ECU Status ECU Setting Inverter Setting Setting List 54
55 System Configuration is where to remotely control the system configuration from an existing customer. This is the section of site that allows you to configure an existing customer s solar system, which may help you solve some problems on your customer s system remotely. Note: Make sure your customers systems are connecting to Internet when you reset some values for them. Note: Depending on Internet connectivity, there is a delay for resetting the configurations successfully, typically, 0~15minnutes. To Change a Customer s ECU Status Select the ECU STATUS tab. The ECU status configuration page is displayed. ECU Status Configuration In this site, you have the ability to change the ECU status to reflect its real condition. Note: Under normal operating conditions, the ECU s status is normal, meaning it is connected to the Internet and operating as expected. Note: When you have changed the ECU status, it will be appeared in the specific Customer List page. 55
56 ECU Status To Configure a Customer s ECU Select the ECU SETTING tab. The ECU Configuration page is displayed. 1. Reset the ECU time zone Click the Time Zone tab. Reset the appropriate ECU time zone for your customers. ECU Time Zone Configuration Note: The ECU time zone is the location ECU placed. 2. Reset the links between ECU and inverters Typically, each inverter should be connected to one ECU. Reset the links between the ECU and inverters when your customer changes his solar system. Click the Inverter 56
57 Links tab. EMA will direct you three operations to reset the links. (See the field Operation ) Clear All: To break all of the links between ECU and inverters. Add: To add the new links into the customer s solar system. Note: The Inverter ID is required. Delete: To delete the links between ECU and inverters. Note: The Inverter ID is required. Operation To Configure a Customer s Inverters Select the INVERTER SETTING tab. The Inverter Configuration page is displayed. 1. Reset the AC Protection Values Click the AC Protection tab. Set an appropriate AC protection values for your customer s system. 57
58 Min Protection Voltage Max Protection Voltage Min Protection Frequency Max Protection Frequency Gird Recovery Time Note: Make sure this customer s system will work normally in this limits. 2. Reset the Inverter Status Click the Inverter Status tab. You could turn on/off your customer s inverters. Inverter Status Choose the Inverters When something unusual occurs in your customer s system, you should turn off the inverters which are working abnormally. Then the customer s system will continue working without the abnormal inverters. When these inverters return to normal, you could turn them on. 58
59 Note: -- indicates EMA cannot read the Inverter status. ON indicates the inverter is at work. OFF indicates the inverter has been turned off. 3. Clear GFDI Click the GFDI tab. You could clear GFDI for all of the inverters in your customer s system. (See Gird-connected Micro-inverter Installation and User Manual [Page 16] or Photovoltaic Grid-connected Inverter from APS [Page 15]) Choose the Inverters Note: -- indicates EMA cannot read the GFDI Status. Unlock indicates the inverter is working normally. Locked indicates the inverter has detected a ground fault (GFDI) error. 4. Reset the Power for Inverters Click the Power tab. You could set the maximum power for your customer s inverters. 59
60 Inverter Max Power Choose the Inverters Typically, the inverter s power displays the power of the PV module. If the output power of PV module is larger than the maximum power referring to the inverter it connects to, then the inverter will keep stably in the maximum power protecting the solar system. Note: -- indicates EMA cannot read the maximum power from inverters. To View the Records of System Configuration Select the SETTING LIST tab. The command configuration page is displayed. Control Command Send Time Reply Time Command List 60
61 In this site, the command list below displays that whether you have successfully reset the configurations of your customer s solar system. Note: The record with an empty reply time indicates this new configuration hasn t been successfully set in your customer s system. 61
