In addition, it offers a Virtual Matrix function enabling the ability to add up to three additional virtual sources that can route the auxiliary input from another Sonos unit to this Sonos Connect Amp. THIS SONOS CONNECT AMP DRIVER SUPPORTS THE FOLLOWING FEATURES: Any feature not specifically noted as supported is not supported. Volume Ramping: This driver is able to offer fast volume ramping to a linked Sonos Connect Amp. Muting: Mute can be toggled on and off, with the driver tracking state enabling the mute on and mute off commands to be used in event maps Absolute Volume: Through Event Maps, defined volumes can be selected (i.e. to make the player turn on at a set level). Available commands are: Decrease Volume by x, Increase Volume by x, Set Volume To, Volume Down 10%, Volume Down 5%, Volume Up 10%, Volume Up 5%. Power On/Off: The driver will automatically pause the active source on power off Virtual Matrix: The driver offers the ability to receive the auxiliary input feed from up to three other Sonos units Event Mapping: As described above, event mapping allows events in the Sonos Connect Amp Driver to initiate a command (or group of commands) in g! 1

3 Sonos Configuration Your Sonos Player first needs set up according to the manufacturer s instructions and then needs to be added to Configurator as a source. To do this please consult the Elan Sonos Player Driver Integration Note. Driver Activation To enable all features to work, this driver needs to be activated. Activation keys can be purchased directly from Core Programming ( or (depending on your region) via your Elan Distributor. Only one activation key is required per project, allowing multiple installations of this driver in that project. Details on how to activate the driver are included below in the Configuration Setup below. 3

CONFIGURATION In the MEDIA tab in Configurator, right click on ZONE CONTROLLERS then ADD NEW ZONE CONTROLLER select Sonos Single Zone & Virtual Matrix from the list and click OK: Enter the IP address of the Sonos Connect Amp that you wish to control (it is strongly advised that you reserve the IP address in your router): 4

5 For the driver to function an Activation Key is required. To activate the driver and enable functionality enter the key received from Core Programming, or your Elan Distributor in the designated box and click ACTIVATE. This is a one time only process and will not need to be repeated, whilst your key remains within the Activation Key field. Under the ZONE CONTROLLERS tab, select the Sonos Single Zone Controller you have just added and navigate to the available sources option: For the first source select the Sonos Connect Amp that you wish to control from the drop down list and click ok. Choose an icon and set a name if required. (Please note, for the Source to appear you must have already added the full Elan Sonos Player Driver and discovered the connected players): The additional three sources are all Virtual and correspond to the Global Feed Field and the configuration page (Source 2 = Global Feed 1, Source 3 = Global Feed 2, Source 4 = Global Feed 3). In the Source Device field, select the device that is connected to the aux input on the Sonos Player you are wanting to receive the feed from. For example, you may have the audio out of your cable receiver plugged into here, or you may have another Sonos plugged in to enable whole house audio. 5

6 Once you have set up your sources, you then need to let Configurator know which external Sonos device each source is linked to. This is done via entering the mac address of each Sonos device into the corresponding Global Source field. Please remove any punctuation and only include numbers (e.g. to add Source 2 here, you enter the mac address of the Sonos Player to which Source 2 is connected. If the mac address is F8:52:C9:00:E1, you would remove the : so the number entered would read F852C900E1. Remember to click apply on completion: Name the Audio Zone and add it to an interface to be displayed. Please consult the g! Configurator Training Manual for more details on general media setup: The driver will now offer full control, as described in the supported features list. Selecting a virtual source will pull the auxillary input from the desiginated Sonos unit. Please consult the Core Programming YouTube Channel for instructional videos of this setup. 6

8 COMMON MISTAKES Not configuring the Sonos Player Driver properly refer to instructions in the relevant Integration Note. Driver not activated ensure that the correct Activation Key has been entered and that you have clicked Apply before clicking Activate.
