4 Introduction Release is an enhancement and bug fix release to the prior Pearson CMS releases. Release Notes describe: The issues and solutions for the (11) enhancements and/or bugs that were implemented and/or fixed in the Release build. DCTM Release Notes

5 1. CR Search results did not display in order of relevancy. Search results were not prioritized/ranked in order of relevancy, e.g. an exact match showed up midway through, or even at the bottom of the results list rather than at the top (See Figure 1.1). 7 2. CR Folder and file descriptions did not display. In PAL, users had the option of viewing descriptions when searching ISBN folders that made long ISBN folder lists understandable (See Figure 2.1). In Documentum, the PAL descriptions were mapped to the User Comments field but did not display in the Content pane, thus making the identification of an ISBN project difficult when users browsed the navigation tree. As a short term-fix, User Comments displays as a default column preference in the Content pane (See Figure 2.3). Figure 2.3. 9 3. CR Users were not notified about content use policies during bulk exports. Users could bulk export content from Documentum as long as they had READ permission. However, the permission to export content from Documentum did not necessarily give users the permission to actually use the content in Pearson products. Thus, to prevent content security breaches during bulk exports, users should be alerted that content in Documentum is not free to use any where and that users must obtain permission from Pearson rights personnel to use content downloaded from Documentum. A warning message now displays during bulk exports (See Figure 3.1). Users must click the here link in the message (See Figure 3.2) to download the Content List for Reuse Rights PDF. The PDF (See Figure 3.3) lists Pearson groups, then contact leads, and lastly products and their contacts. Locate the group in the orange header (a). The group s lead contact is listed in the blue header (b). Find your product in the first (white) column (c), and then the person whom you should contact to the right of the product name (d). 11 4. CR Users could only bulk import content into Pearson Common folders. During bulk import, users could not specify a folder type (See Figure 4.1) and, by default, all bulk imported content was created within Pearson Common folders. Users needed a method for choosing additional folder types, for example, Pearson Legacy. Figure 4.1. The Bulk Import pop-up window did not provide users an option to select a folder type. 12 5. CR The WARNING: Unable to bind field error message appeared. An error message appeared in UAT when users navigated to any location, set the column preferences in this order to Thumbnails; Name; Size; Folder Type; Version State; Modified, clicked the Lightbox View icon and then clicked the List View icon (See Figure 5.1). 13 6. CR Advanced search did not default to metadata search. When users searched Documentum through Simple Search, the full text indexed search results were often too broad and unfocused, and sometimes even inexplicable. To target their searches more precisely, users were instructed to perform metadata searches on the Advanced Search screen. However, the metadata option on the Advanced Search screen was non-intuitive (See Figure 6.1). Figure 6.1. 15 7. CR The Bulk Import and Bulk Export dialog boxes did not remember the last location users selected. Users often bulk imported or bulk exported from the same location in Documentum. After users finished one bulk job, clicked the back button to return to the same location to kick off the next bulk job, they discovered that the last location had not been retained. Instead, the users landed at the top level of the folder structure and were forced to drill down through the folders again. Users are now returned to the last location they selected while performing bulk exports and imports, instead of the top-level location. DCTM Release Notes

16 8. CR Metadata import for deleted files incorrectly was reported as successful. When a file had been deleted from Documentum, and metadata for that file was then imported into Documentum, the import job status displayed SUCCESS on the Job Status screen when the job should have failed (See Figure 9.1). Similarly, when a metadata template was imported into Documentum, but one or more files listed in the template had previously been deleted from Documentum, the job status displayed SUCCESS when the job should have displayed as PARTIAL_SUCCESS along with a reason (See Figure 9.2). 18 9. CR FSS login failed when user logged in multiple times. For some users, logging in to FSS multiple times resulted in failure (See Figure 9.1). Figure 9.1. 19 10. CR The Home Cabinet was visible to some users. The Home Cabinet should not be visible to users; however, some Documentum users could see the Home Cabinet in the Navigation Pane (See Figure 10.1). Figure The Home Cabinet incorrectly appeared as a default node in the Navigation pane for some users. The Home Cabinet is no longer visible (See Figure 10.2) Figure The Home Cabinet is now correctly hidden. 11. CR All files did not export during bulk export. With bulk exports on Macintosh, the folders exported, but the files did not. With bulk exports on Windows, all the files exported, but in *.bin format.
