1 Toshiba Print Driver Installation Instructions For MAC Computers The screen shots used in this document were captured while installing the Toshiba Print Driver on a MAC computer running Yosemite OSX (ver ) operating system. If you are running a different operating system the process is the same but your screen may vary slightly. It is recommended that you download the most current version of the print driver from Toshiba s web site and not use the CD that came with the printer as it may contain an older version of the print driver. To download the current print driver, open your web browser on your MAC computer and navigate to Click on DRIVERS

2 2. Type in your Toshiba Printer Model and click on search 3. Click on the gz next to your Mac operating system for single sided color...you will still be able to duplex print projects. I have selected the one for Yosemite (10.10)

3 4 Open the Download folder...this can be accomplished as seen below using Finder if needed...double click on the Toshiba file in the download folder 5. Double click on Box to extract and start the install

4 6. Click on CONTINUE 7. Click on CONTINUE 8. Click on AGREE

5 9. Click on INSTALL 10. Type in your password and click on INSTALL SOFTWARE 11. The software is installed but it is not setup...we will complete setup in the next section...click on CLOSE

6 12. Click on the APPLE and chose System Preferences 13. Click on PRINTERS

7 14. Click on the This part can be a little confusing...you will note that the TOSHIBA is listed below (highlighted in blue)... do not select this. Later versions of MAC operating systems will search and identify printers automatically but if you choose the TOSHIBA listed below in blue it will install it as a generic Postscript AirPrint driver... this will dramatically limit functionality. The proper way is to choose the first option or the ADD PRINTER selection

Select the TOSHIBA printer listed and click on the IP icon at the top of the page In the ADDRESS line enter the IP address for the printer...type print in the QUEUE line...use the pull-down in the USE line and select Toshiba ColorMFP-X7 USA. In the NAME line you can change the name of the printer if you wish or you can keep the IP address as the name...click on ADD Type Toshiba IP Address Here The Toshiba IP Address Typed Above Will Appear Here Toshiba ColorMFP-X7 USA

9 18. Change the settings to reflect the drawer configurations you have, an finisher, any hole punch, stapler, and turn on Large Capacity Feeder if you have one...click on OK 19. The printer is installed and ready to use NOTE: Now that the print driver is installed you are ready to use your new Toshiba printer...the next pages will show you how to set the printer to use the new COLOR APP unique color model for enhanced color accuracy and increased dynamic range when printing in color.

10 Activate the New Unique Toshiba Color APP & the Color Accurate Color Model Embedded in the Toshiba Printer 1. Open any program that will print...safari or Pages will do...choose FILE PRINT or the shortcut COMMAND P...when the print window appears use the pull down and choose COLOR SETTINGS 1...if you do not have these options click on the SHOW DETAIL Button to expand the print box. 2. Change HALFTONE to SMOOTH

11 3. Change IMAGE TYPE to ADVANCED 4. It will take a second but your MAC will drill into the Toshiba printer and pull the new enhanced color accurate color models into the driver. You will see them circled below...the top two are the same for all printers while the bottom one circled is unique to your printer model.

12 5. Under PRESETS choose SAVE CURRENT SETTINGS AS PRESET 6. Give it the name Color_Corrected (no spaces, use underline as seen in example) and click OK. You now have access to the Color APP and the unique color model provided with your Toshiba printer by simply choosing the new preset you created.
