RYKO Manufacturing Company N.W. 54th Ave. P.O.Box 38 Grimes, Iowa Phone (515) Fax (515) ryko.com 22 July 2006 April 2003 INTERNATIONAL SERVICE BULLETIN - I #6-203 CAW-IV Program , Rev. Y MACHINES AFFECTED: CAW-IV PROBLEM: The field requires current information on CAW-IV program SOLUTION: The release of this new program has added several new enhancements. The following are applicable to this program. I. The following program changes have been incorporated into CAW-IV Program , Revision A. 1. Added network arming for all coinboxes for future use. 2. Added AMTT credit card support for future capabilities. 3. Added support for 6 digit wash prices including dollars and cents ($9,999.99) 4. Added support for serial data transfer. Using a data transfer cable data transfer can only be done between CAW-IV s with the same program. Both CAW-IV s will REQUIRE program Rev. A or programs for serial data transfer.

5. Added support for serial host/remote operation with a data transfer cable. This program, unlike the -005 programs, can be connected as Host/Remote with a data transfer cable. There is a unique setting for network, which allows for Host Serial and Remote Serial. If the unit is to be connected to a CAW-III with a data transfer cable, the CAW-IV should be used as the host unit and set to Host Network. The preferred host/remote operation is through the network with wires 701 & 702 and should be connected this way in installations that have CAW-IV s with network capability. 6. Changed Power On/Off log report to display "Control Power Still Off" on the most recent entry if there is no on date. This will also prevent a Power Off time being set without an on time. 7. Corrected the printing of wash discount values not to go beyond 24 characters. 8. Changed "Last Coin Box Entries" report to display when control power goes off. II. The following program changes have been incorporated into CAW-IV program Revisions B, C and D. 1. CAW-IV printers will only return one valid status message; the rest will return no response. This would limit reports to be printed once that checked the printer status. This has been corrected. 2. Fixed CBI Diagnostic test to run until requested to stop. 3. Fixed Control Power On/Off log report to log correctly. 4. Added an Event Log to track CAW and coinbox status and carwash power. III. The following program changes have been incorporated into CAW-IV program Revisions E. 1. The Event and Error Log report will now display time down to the second when the event happened. 2. Ryko POS message Additional Information is now working correctly. 2

3. Correct the Check A Code report to display the correct expiration date of the wash. 4. Correct the low bay temperature alarm to know when the temperature is low. 5. Correct leap year problem. If a code is issued that is valid during or after the leap day (February 29) of a leap year, the code would be valid for an extra day. IV. The following program change has been incorporated into CAW-IV program Revisions F. 1. Change so CAW-IV will now print the local currency and the Euro conversion at the same time on a customer s ticket. V. The following program changes have been incorporated into CAW-IV program Revision G.. 1. Removed all Euro references from conversion price to make it more generic. 2. Standard coin box interface PLEASE WAIT light is now off when emergency stop, or control power goes off. 3. Corrected AMTT status on CAW-IV screen. 4. Added the help menu that was in program Added the ability to enter custom currency symbols. Added the ability to enter custom currency symbols. VI. The following program changes have been incorporated into CAW-IV program , Revision H. 1. The following additional features were added: a. Added an AMTT attendant option. Report totals will be printed on the CAW IV if there is an attendant option on the AMTT. b. Added a new AMTT status message that says the AMTT has enough credit card transactions to call in and authorize but the phone connection cannot be made. c. Added another event log event to detect when a vehicle is present at the coinbox. (Multiple upgrade coinboxes only.) 3

d. Added some Spanish translations. 2. The following program corrections were made: a. The number of valid codes is forced to zero when all codes are cleared. b. POS protocol, event log, error log and currency conversion are reset to default values when manually initializing the CAW IV setup. c. Program part number X has been removed from the programming report and the chip label to prevent confusion when ordering the program. d. Changed the wash ticket to line up discount prices that are subtracted with the rest of the wash prices. e. Added line to clear the wash arming bits when the code is entered but the emergency stop or control power was turned off before the vehicle got on the bay switch. f. Updated the Programming Report Network Configuration to display the correct link type (Host/Remote Network/Serial). g. (Alternate POS only) Changed the program to return codes greater than or equal to Some POS devices cannot display a leading 0 in the code. h. (Alternate POS only) Return car wash status OK if set to always return OK from the CAW IV. VII. The following change has been incorporated into CAW-IV Program , Revision I. 1. Revised to print multiple copies of the same ticket. VIII. The following changes have been incorporated into CAW-IV Program , Revision J. 1. Added 2 wash option names for the IFSF names. 2. Fixed Ryko POS CD (get code) with a discount problem. The code did not check the discount keys in the message to POS. 4

3. Fixed logic to prevent the DTMF loopback test from setting the Low Bay Temp Alarm. 4. Fixed a Multi-Upgrade coinbox problem. The welcome message would not play when the photoeye was blocked after 20 seconds of being idle after a wash. Or, after pressing the MUCB reset button and waiting for message #4 to play while blocking the photoeyes the message would not play. 5. Moved the Income Cycle Fleet Tax/Total values up to the Fleets Issued part of the report. 6. Revised program logic to allow the CAW IV to retrieve coinbox totals from the AMTT coinbox when requested by POS systems. 7. Changed program logic for scrolling through the listing of wash package names. When programmed for any country or language, after scrolling through the first 30 names, the next 10 names would change to a different language, and then start over in the language selected. This fix prevents the other language from being displayed. 8. Changed program logic to fix a problem with the editable symbol used in the list of denominations for currency. If you are scrolling through the list of denomination symbols and stop on the editable symbol, if the mode key is pressed, the mode key will become the denomination symbol. This problem may cause the printer to print double wide and height characters after the denomination symbol. Using the right arrow key would allow you to scroll past this symbol. This revision enables the mode/select key to also go past this symbol like the right arrow does. IX. The following changes have been incorporated into CAW IV Program , revision K. 1. The following changes were added to correct known problems. a. Fixed Host Serial/Remote Serial Network Setup to be able to transfer data using the Serial Data transfer cable. NOTE: If either CAW IV is set for Alternate POS Protocol, the program will change this to RYKO protocol so the serial part is configured correctly. b. Increased Credit Card name buffer size to 54 characters. This corrected a problem that would cause the CAW IV to reinitialize if the credit card name was longer than 26 charters or if it contained spaces. c. Removed unused names from IFSF. 5

2. The following are additional features added with this revision. a. Added RAM test in the Diagnostic menu. This will test for any read/write errors. NOTE: This test will initialize the CAW IV after the test finishes. b. Added better POS diagnostic message printing. This will print the first 50 characters of each message. c. Added Power On/Off Log, Event Log and Error log entries for networkarmed machines. d. Added option to change the CAW IV display temperature of the AMTT to Celsius or Fahrenheit. e. Added checks to numbers of Valid Codes to ensure proper calculations. X. The following changes have been incorporated into CAW IV Program , revision L. 1. The following changes were added to correct known problems. a. Fixed the wash discount. Previously, if the discount value was larger than the wash value, then a negative value was created and a large, incorrect positive value would be displayed. Currently, a $0.00 value will be displayed when the previous conditions are met. b. Fixed the method of calculating a total wash price if multiple keys are used to build a wash package. The display would not match the ticket printed if a key is pressed more than once. c. Fixed Coin Box Totals reports for dollars. Previously, when the total was too large, it would change to a smaller value. d. Revise the security menu function Report Security. It would ignore keystrokes. e. Delete from Help text, the information for ordering paper from Autron. f. Fix Alternate POS Protocol messages so message ID is separate from message length. g. Revise POS request for code relating to customer name being longer than 22 characters. The following is an additional feature added with this revision. 6

a. Added another level of CAW IV ticket security. This will enable or disable the CAW IV from being able to sell wash codes. If enabled, then the POS is the only way to sell wash codes. This new feature is in the Maintenance & Diagnostic menu. It is called the Garrity Setup. See additional information section for more details. XI. The following changes have been incorporated into CAW IV Program , revision M. 1. The following changes were added to correct known problems. a. Revise the Alternate POS Protocol to never issue a wash code less than This is because Gasboy and Autogas POS systems cannot print a leading zero on their ticket. b. Added to the Shift Report and the Manager s Report the number of times the Shift Totals have been cleared since the Manager s Report was cleared. c. Fixed the Last Coinbox Entries report from printing indefinitely due to an internal index counter being corrupted. d. Fixed Washes Used Report so it will function as expected when set for Network Arming. e. Fixed foreign language strings. The Income Cycle Report and the Lifetime Totals Report will display in French, Dutch, and Spanish correctly. f. Fixed an AMTT status message problem. When Credit Card Full message was received the CAW would reinitialize previously. g. If, a code is cleared at the CAW IV, then, the CAW IV will now send a message to a network coinbox to clear the same code in the memory of the coinbox. 2. The following are additional features included with this revision. a. Added a PLC 2-digit code in message #8, this is used for a US2001 OHD to indicate a broken shear bolt. The message will read Spray Arm Shear Bolt. b. Changed all references of AMTT Coinbox to Network Coinbox, Coinbox, or NCBX to be used on reports and the display. The CAW IV Coin Box Type must be set to Network Coinbox when using either an 7

AMTT Coinbox or a new Multi-Upgrade Coinbox. c. Added a new currency character due to the introduction of the Euro in many European countries. The character has been added to the LCD and the printer of the CAW. d. Added chemical monitoring names to the 2-digit Wash Status Codes. If the equipment installed with the CAW IV uses an 8K PLC program, then the actual chemical name entered in the CAW IV will be used in the Wash Status Codes report. If the equipment installed with the CAW IV uses a 16K PLC program, then a description of the chemicals in the group will be added. XII. The following changes have been incorporated into CAW IV Program , revision N. 1. The following changes were added to correct known problems. a. Fixed all references to AMTT. The reference to any network coinbox is NCBX. b. Fixed a problem with fleet codes and the expiration date printed on the ticket. Previously, a fleet code printed at the CAW IV with a value of $0.00 would print an expiration date equal to the value assigned to the Days Valid Paid. However, the code would expire equal to the value assigned to the Days Valid Free. Now, the expiration date printed on a ticket is the value assigned to Days Valid Free. 2. The following are additional features included with this revision. a. Added a new counter to the following reports: Shift, Manager s, Coinbox, Income Cycle, and Lifetime. The new counter is identified as Cash Only Coinbox Sales. The purpose of this new counter is to track the number of washes sold at the coinbox for cash only. b. Added network message for transferring valid wash codes. This is intended for future use. XIII. The following changes have been incorporated into CAW IV Program , revision O. 1. Fixed low bay temp warning when using Network Arming. 2. Corrected so Network Diagnostics functions will not test the node that is running the test. 8

3. Corrected so Multiple Network Coinboxes will not arm multiple machines with the same code at the same time. Coinboxes will check with CAW IV every time a code is entered. 4. Corrected so Standard & DTMF Multiple Upgrade Coinboxes used with network arming will continue to send arming message to the PLC until the PLC is armed. 5. Corrected to clear Cash Only Coinbox Sales on the Coinbox totals report, Totals for each wash are now reset when the report is cleared. 6. Changed so the POS ticket (Garrity Setup) is reinitialized and not corrupted when a CAW IV program is changed. 6. Added Fixed Fleets Used counter to Shift Managers Report and Income Cycle Report. XIV. The following changes have been incorporated into CAW IV Program , revision P. 1. Revised to add Point Of Sales totals to Lifetime Totals report. 2. Update reports to show larger values without causing continuous reprint problem. XV. The following changes have been incorporated into CAW IV Program , revision Q. 1. Added logic to check wash key programming to make sure arming bits are programmed for that key before issuing a code. 3. Updated program logic to support 2 digit codes 38 and 70. XVII. The following changes have been incorporated into CAW IV Program , revision S. A. Revised to check for program before initializing program data. This will not automatically reinitialize if a program was previously in the CAWIV. XVIII. The following changes have been incorporated into CAW IV program revision T. A. Revised program to check the Network Timeout value each time the CAW IV is powered up and when the value is changed or viewed in the Network Configuration menu. The value must be in a range from 100 to 500. If the value is out of range, it will be set to a value of means 0.1 seconds and 500 means 0.5 seconds the CAW IV will wait for a response after sending a network message. B.
