3 (1) May I use this same TV tuner card worldwide? This TV tuner Tuner Card supports worldwide analog TV system, which means you can carry this TV tuner Tuner Card anywhere to watch the local Analog TV. (2) If I want to use this TV tuner card on a Vista system, what should I do? i. To download the latest softwares for Windows Vista, please visit our website at and select Download. ii. On the top of the page, you will see scroll down menus, please select Analog TV Series for Product Series, PlusTV Analog PCI Card for Product Name, and click-on Go. iii. You will find the latest version for all of the necessary softwares for your products to be in this page. Page 1 of 17

4 (3) If my remote control cannot work or is not working properly, what should I do? Before you begin, please make sure you have installed the Remote Control Utility via the Quick Installation CD provided along with the device. If you had installed this device via Windows Hardware Add Wizard, please install via the Quick Installation CD before continuing to step 1. iv. Please right-click on the Remote Control icon on Windows task bar, and select Setting. [Shown Below: Left(Windows Vista), Right (Windows XP)] If the print screen from step 1 is different with the picture shown above, please select Exit to close the Remote Control icon. Afterward, please go to Windows Start Menu, Programs, KWorld Multimedia (or VStream Multimedia), PVR-TV 7131(or TV Tuner Card)Utilities, and Remote Control to restart the Remote Control utility. Then, repeat step 1. (4) How do I make sure the driver is installed correctly? v. Please go to Windows Start Menu, right-click on My Computer, and select Manage. The Computer Management screen will be as shown below: vi. If the device is installed properly on your computer, in the middle panel above, there shouldn t be any? or! beside the Philips SAA713X Hyprid Capture Device. Page 2 of 17

5 (5) How do I know which driver version I am currently using? vii. Please go to Windows Start Menu, right-click on My Computer, and select Manage. The Computer Management screen will be as shown below: viii. In the left panel, please select Device Manager ; in the middle panel, please expand the Sound, Video, Game Controllers ix. Right-click on Philips SAA713X, Hybrid Capture Device and select Properties. As shown below, you will find the driver version under Driver, and Driver Version. Page 3 of 17

6 (6) What can I do to make sure my TV tuner and software was installed correctly? x. Please check the hardware connection first: is it connected properly on to your TV Tuner Card? xi. Please download the diagnostic tool AMCAP from the link below to help to check the problem. fftp://ftp.kworld.com.tw/kworld/tool/amcap.zip xii. Please close all other applications, including HyperMedia Center. After downloading, please extract the file and launch AMCAP. (The window will be shown as below.) If the AMCAP window is not shown as above, rather than below, please confirm setting in a few places. Page 4 of 17

7 xiii. If your TV Tuner Card is installed correctly, you will see 713X BDA Analog Capture Device under the Devices menu. xiv. Please click on Options and select Preview if it hasn t been selected already. Page 5 of 17

8 xv. Please click on Options and select TV Tuner, than you will see the main window as shown below: If you can t see the window as shown in the above, it means the TV Tuner Card is malfunctioning. Or, if you can see this window but in the boxed area, status is shown as unlocked, please click-on AutoTune on the left side of the TVTuner Property Page to scan the channels. Afterward, if the status is still shown as unlocked, it means the TV Tuner Card is malfunctioning and hasn t been installed properly. xvi. Please restart the system and replug the TV Tuner Card into the same slot again. Please repeat from Step iii, if problem persist, please proceed to the next step. xvii. Please unplug the TV Tuner Card, remove the driver and reboot the PC. Try to install everything using a different TV slot. xviii. If this still does not work, please download the GETSYSINFO tool from the link below: ftp://ftp.kworld.com.tw/kworld/tool/getsysinfo/getsysinfo_ _v2.1.zip xix. After download is completed, please extract and run the program to generate the file systeminfo.ini under the root folder in C Drive (as shown below). This file tells us the exact built of your computer. Page 6 of 17

9 xx. Along with your personal information and product purchased, please attach the file generated from Step x to support@kworld.com.tw. We will resolve your problem using the information you have provided and provide you with the proper solution. (7) I have black and white on the TV display, what should I do? xxi. Please right-click on the TV screen and select Reset TV Frequency Table xxii. Please select your current location or the TV system supported locally and proceed with Next Page 7 of 17

10 xxiii. Please select either Line In or Rear Blue In for Video Live Sound and Recording Sound. Please note, choosing between these two settings would not affect audio capture, since the sound transmission is done through the PCI bus. xxiv. Please proceed to Next, than Scan, than press on Finish to complete this setting. Page 8 of 17

11 (8) The TV display is fuzzy and unclear, how can I change this? xxv. First of all, there are 2 types of coaxial cable for TV: 50Ω and 75Ω. Please make sure the cable you are using is 75Ω. xxvi. Whether your cable is connected to a splitter or not, usually tightening the connecting cable would solve the problem. (9) There are green blocks and distorted images on my TV display, what should I do? Due to the limitation on some of the VGA cards in the market, the VMR feature in DirectX 9.0C cannot be supported. Therefore, if your TV display appears to be distorted or have green blocks in it, you probably have to disable this function in the application. xxvii. Turn on your PVR Plus media player, and right-click on the TV display and select Setup. Page 9 of 17

12 xxviii. Make sure the Enable VMR box is unchecked. (10) I can use the channel number to switch channels, but the up and down arrow doesn t work. What should I do? Please check if you had proceeded with Auto Scan before viewing your TV, if you had not, please follow the instructions below: xxix. Please click on the Settings Icon, and select the TV Tuner Tab. 13 xxx. Please select Auto Scan, this should effectively solve your problem. (11) I can t see the close captions and teletext, what should I do? Unfortunately, this card does not support close caption function, so you won t be able to use this function. In terms of teletext, which is only available in PAL-based TV system, if you use the card in European country, then this function would be available. Page 11 of 17

14 (12) I got the Invalid Class Strings error message when I first launched HyperMedia Center, what should I do? What happens is that a number of third party Codec packs such as K-Lite Codec Pack, ACE Mega Codec Pack Professional, or Nimo Codec Pack 5.0 Build 8 etc contains direct show filter, therefore, would cause conflicts between applications, which is the root cause of this error message. To avoid this problem, we would like to ask you to please reinstall the Codec pack. Taking K-Lite Codec Pack as an example, please follow the instructions below: xxxi. Please completely uninstall this software and restart the computer before reinstalling the codec pack again. xxxii. Please make sure the components in the red boxed areas shown in the following two pictures are not included in the installation. For other similar softwares please make sure the same components are not installed into your computer to avoid the error message. (13) How do I record files in MPEG4 format? Before you begin, please download MPEG4 Codec from the internet. There are two MPEG4 formats supported: Microsoft ( and DIVX ( Please make sure the version that you are downloading and installing is DIVX v5.xx. After you have completed the installation for MPEG4 Codec, please turn on the new HyperMedia Center program (which could be downloaded from KWorld s Official website) and select TV, Setting, and Recording Setting. Shown as below, please select MPEG4 format and click on Return to complete this setting. Page 12 of 17

15 i. If you are still using the old HyperMedia applications software, please click on the Settings Icon to open the window below: ii. Please choose the Capture Tab, and select MPEG4 for the Capture Format. iii. Please choose the Other Tab, and select the Codec that you have downloaded and installed. To complete this setting, just click on OK. Now you may record video clips in Mpeg 4 format. Page 13 of 17

16 (14) I have lost my installation CD, what should I do? xxxiii. Please visit our website at and select Download. xxxiv. On the top of the page, you will see scroll down menus, please select Analog TV Series for Product Series, PlusTV Analog PCI Card for Product Name, and click-on Go. Page 14 of 17

17 xxxv. You will find the latest version of the necessary softwares for your products to be in this page. (15) Why can I not record files that are over 4GB? Normally when we use the default resolution of 640 x 480 for Mpeg2 format, after 2 hours of recording, the file will exceed 4GB. xxxvi. Please check if the destination drive for your recorded files is using the FAT32 file system by going to My Computer. xxxvii. Please right-click on the hard drive in which you wish to store the Page 15 of 17

18 recorded files and select Properties. xxxviii. Under the first sub-menu, you will see the heading File System, it should display either NTFS or FAT32. If the File System of the Hard Drive is FAT32, please change the destination folder to a hard drive with the file system of NTFS. Page 16 of 17

19 (16) After executing HyperMedia Center, the error message Cannot set capture device (1000), what should I do? xxxix. Please make sure your TV Tuner Card has been attached to the computer securely. xl. Please go to Windows Start Menu, right-click on My Computer, and select Manage. The Computer Management screen will be as shown below. Using Device Manager from the middle panel, please make sure all drivers for your graphic card, sound card, and TV Tuner Card had been installed successfully. xli. After confirming the previous 2 steps, please visit our website to download the newest revision of HyperMedia Center application software. Before you reinstall the application, please make sure the previous versions had been uninstalled completely and your computer system has been restarted. Page 17 of 17
