Technology We constantly strive for new and innovative ways to achieve our goals, integrating sophisticated electronic design and software development, with mechanical engineering and acoustics to deliver a truly advanced sonic experience. By managing the relationship between these four pillars of engineering we enable our listeners to hear every single note in equal measure and transcend from audio sound to musical performance. 3 The Naim Audio Story Naim founder, Julian Vereker MBE ( ), was a successful racing car driver, self-taught engineer and entrepreneur with a deep passion for music. Spending his spare time listening to the greatest artists of the 1960s and 70s, as well as his own friends playing live, Julian found the performance of playback at home fell woefully short in almost every area that matters. Not content with second best, he set about designing his own amplifiers and loudspeakers, completely unaware that he was laying the foundations for a range of iconic and award-winning hi-fi products that would reach well into the next century. Julian had no ideas of fame or fortune, he simply wanted to experience music replayed in its truest and purest possible form. These were our founding values in 1973 and they continue to fuel every aspect of our progress today. The technology we use to achieve our aims will always change and evolve with time, but our ultimate goal remains the same to bring our listeners a deeper and more intense experience of their music. A First Start at Capital Radio Julian won a contract to supply then start-up radio station, Capital Radio, with audio equipment. The NAP 200 Power Amplifier Our first consumer product for home use was launched: the NAP 200 power amplifier. Originally designed in 1971, its descendant power amplifiers still aim for the same performance goals of pace, rhythm and timing Classic Advertising As Naim Audio grew in popularity through the 70s and early 80s, the team decided to grab the attention of the press and public with a series of tongue-in-cheek adverts. The CDS CD Player Like so many Naim Audio products, the design of our first CD player, the CDS, flew in the face of conventional wisdom. NAP 500 Power Amplifier After several years in development, the new flagship Naim Audio NAP 500 power amplifier was born and with it the new industrial design aesthetic that would redefine Naim Audio for the 21st century. Statement Without Compromise. The idea for an entirely new kind of amplifier was conceived by our engineers over a decade ago and development began in The objective was to set a new reference standard in high-end audio and music reproduction. The result is Statement. Three years of relentless questioning, iterative design and a point blank refusal to accept no as an answer New Platform Uniti Following in the footsteps of our groundbreaking original Uniti range, new Uniti has been built from the ground up by Naim engineers. The NAC 12 Preamplifier With a network of dedicated independent retailers now on board in the U.K., the NAC 12, our first production preamplifier, was launched. NAIT Integrated Amplifier Naim Audio s first integrated amplifier, the NAIT was introduced. This iconic little integrated amp sounded quite unlike any other integrated of its day and set a trend for socalled super integrateds. Naim Records is Born Created by Naim founder Julian Vereker, Naim Records combined his love for music with his quest to deliver the best sound quality, from the studio to the listening room. Naim for Bentley Two brands with a distinguished British heritage and a passion for engineering excellence share an 18 month development project to produce the Naim for Bentley in-car system. Naim Mu-so Wireless Music System Naim Audio launches its first complete wireless music system, Mu-so, offering real versatility and performance alongside multiroom capability saw the launch of Mu-so s charismatic little brother, Mu-so Qb, our new compact wireless music system

The position and layout of wires that carry signals and power around a product is very important. The original Naim CDX debuted in 1999 and its newest sibling, the CDX2, shares plenty of design DNA with its predecessor. The radial arc disc tray is classic Naim, alongside some useful new enhancements. For example, batches of resistors typically come matched to within a 5% margin of error. Through listening tests, we found that if the resistance of the left and right channels are matched to closer than 0.5%, sound is significantly improved. Following this discovery, a bespoke production procedure was conceived to help us match resistors by hand

12 Upgrade Path Options Since our early days in the 1970s, we have been pioneers in the modular approach to system building and have been refining it for more than 40 years. We have always offered a clearly defined upgrade path which allows you to attain the next level of audio performance without having to purchase a completely new system. What is DR Technology? We have long noted the importance of a clean, stable, low-noise power supply to audio performance. Our DR (Discrete Regulator) technology, first introduced to our power supplies and now featuring in Statement and our power amplifiers, is the latest progression of that philosophy. A regulator is an electronic device designed to maintain a constant DC output voltage regardless of fluctuations in supply voltage and in current draw from its output. Naim s DR provides ultra-low noise supply voltage to critical electronics. The new topology, which was refined over two years, has proven itself to be inherently low noise and capable of fast recovery to transient current demands.
