1 Manual for U200, U500 and U600 models The Usavi Team hope that you will find your visualiser a handy tool. To get the most out of your purchase, please take a few minutes to read the attached guide to using the powerful Usavi software. Starting the Program Connect the visualiser before starting the Usavi program. When Usavi starts, the screen it shows is a video image, with buttons along the left and bottom of the screen. New features in the latest update are Curtain, a slider control to set the screen resolution and improved video recording. The Usavi start up screen Desktop Image Button The above picture was created using some of the Usavi whiteboard tools. A major part of this was the tool called Desktop Image. Under the USAVI screen I had an open Word document. When you click on this button the last screen open under the USAVI screen is brought to the front. This screen is an image only. The whiteboard tools are still present along the bottom and can be used to annotate this image. You will notice 2 new buttons on the bottom right: Activate Desktop and Back. Firstly Activate Desktop changes the screen from an image only to an active desktop. The Back button will take you back to the main USAVI whiteboard screen.

2 Whiteboard Tools Much of this will be straightforward but there are some features worth taking note of. If you draw some lines, shapes or insert text each can be individually selected and repositioned. When an object is selected by clicking on it the colour changes to confirm the selection. In this condition it can be moved or deleted by the Delete button. Please note that if you select the Clear button all of the symbols added to the page are removed. It is possible to move all of the lines, symbols and text as a group. Just click anywhere on the screen without any active tools. Sometimes you may find that you cannot move objects on the screen. If this happens select any whiteboard tool, then deselect it by clicking on the button again, following this you should be able to move objects that you have drawn on the screen. Video Recording The Video Recording button opens a new window, that is pre configured at an optimum setting for the Usavi model that you are using. The file will be saved into a Usavi folder in Documents unless you opt to change the location by the button Change Path. The recording can be flipped using the Left, Right, Horizon and Vertical buttons. If the video recording program is running when the Interactive Whiteboard button is selected a pop up message appears regarding this. When you switch to the Interactive Whiteboard screen shown below a snap shot is taken of the video that is transferred into the screen. If the rectangle tool was used to select a section of the video and then scanned, just the scanned image from the rectangle area will be shown.

3 Multi-image Display: This opens a new screen shown below- This screen can be split into 2 or 4 sections. Into each section an image can be imported. The images can be repositioned and can be hidden, or partially hidden, by the boundary of the section. It can be used to compare images, such as questions and answers with the answers hidden until dragged back into the visible section Once the images have been imported, they can be rotated and moved within the spilt screen box.

4 Screen Video Record Screen Video Record is a useful ancillary tool. This is used to make a recording of what is being shown on the desktop screen. This is activated by the drop down menu called Options at the top of the screen. Screen Video Record opens the window below. From here you must select from the menu Video Select and for most operating systems in the compression setting select ffdshow Video Codec. The only other setting in the Options drop down that you may want to select is Sound Record. Please note whether you select Sound Record or not USB audio in your Windows settings must be disabled. If USB audio is enabled it will cause a conflict and prevent useable recordings being produced. Area Select: The default is to record a small section of the screen, the placement and size can be adjusted or full screen can be selected.
