3 1. AlcoCONNECT mobile and the AlcoCONNECT Live Data system AlcoCONNECT mobile receives alcohol test records from a paired Alcolizer LE5 Alcohol Tester. These records can then be uploaded onto AlcoCONNECT Live (optional feature). Fig 1. AlcoCONNECT mobile and AlcoCONNECT Live Data system - a diagram To utilise features of AlcoCONNECT mobile app, you will need: 1. an Alcolizer LE5 Alcohol Tester For best performance, the LE5 Alcohol Tester should be installed with firmware version S or later. Should your firmware need to be upgraded, contact Alcolizer Technology or your Authorised Distributor for a free upgrade. 2. an Android device with: Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) or above Bluetooth V4.1 or above 3. a Google Play account, visit: 4. 4 2. App installation 1. Search Google Play for AlcoCONNECT mobile. 2. If you cannot access Google Play, contact Alcolizer for help in finding AlcoCONNECT mobile. 3. Main screens Throughout this user guide, we will refer to the following three main screens. 1. List View screen The List View displays records that have been received from an LE5 Alcohol Tester and saved in the app. This is the first screen seen when you open the app. 2. Add Record screen The Add Record screen will allow the saving of a new breath testing record in the app. Access this screen by either: a. Tapping on the + symbol on the List View screen. b. Receiving a test record from an LE5 Alcohol Tester when Automatic Record Capture is set to Off for the record type (All, Positive, Negative). 3. 5 4. Main menu 4.1 Main menu access The main menu is available from the List View screen. Tap the vertical ellipsis icon (more options) icon Sync All (appears when records exist) The Sync All function will send all existing records to the AlcoCONNECT Live server Delete All (appears when records exist) This function will delete all existing records. You will be prompted to confirm that you wish to delete all records before they are deleted. This will only delete the records stored on the phone. Records on AlcoCONNECT Live will not be deleted Enable Pairing This function is used to pair an LE5 Alcohol Tester with an Android device. You will be asked to give permission to make your Android device visible to other Bluetooth devices for 120 seconds. You will need to select this each time you want to pair an LE5 Alcohol Tester with an Android device Printer Configuration Configure Ticket Layout This functionality allows you to choose whether to print the Sample Module Serial Number on the printed test result ticket Connect To Printer The printer needs to be switched on and in the vicinity of the Android device. When selected, the Android device will search for nearby Bluetooth devices Disconnect from Printer (appears when connected to a printer) If you are connected to a printer, this menu option is selectable and will cause the Android device to disconnect the Bluetooth connection to the printer if selected. sales@alcolizer.com Alcolizer Technology 5 of 19

6 4.1.5 Create Reminder If you need to remember to provide a breath test at certain days and times, you can set up reminders in the app. This feature is useful to remind those performing unsupervised testing. 1. You must set a Date and Time as a minimum setting. 2. Set an Alert if you want a reminder to pop-up on the Android device in future. 3. 7 4.1.6 Settings Data Fields The data fields provide options to set up what data you choose to be visible on the Add Record screen Automatic Captures This option is used to take a sequence of selfie photos when you are in the Add Record screen. It is useful to prove a breath test has been conducted and particularly useful for unsupervised testing situations Donor Name Select this box if you want to be able to record a Donor Name in the Add Record screen Staff ID Select this box if you want to be able to record a Staff ID in the Add Record Screen Donor Photo Select this box if you want to be able to take a picture of the donor from the Add Record screen Licence Select this box if you want to be able to record licence details in the Add Record screen Licence Photo Select this box if you want to be able to take a picture of the donors licence from the Add Record screen Comments Select this box if you want to be able to add comments in the Add Record screen. If you attempt to read a QR code without a QR code reader, AlcoCONNECT mobile will suggest a suitable app to install from the Google Play store NFC Tag Identity Select this box if you want to be able to scan an NFC Tag from the Add Record screen. This will only work if your Android device has NFC capability. NFC stands for Near Field Communication. NFC enables short range communication between compatible devices. This requires at least one transmitting device (NFC Tag) and another to receive the signal (such as an Android Device) Location Select this box if you want the GPS coordinates to automatically appear in the Add Record screen. sales@alcolizer.com Alcolizer Technology 7 of 19

9 4.1.7 About This includes information about the AlcoCONNECT mobile app including the installed app version and contact Add Record screen You can access the Add Record screen by either: a. Tapping the + symbol when you are in the List View screen or; b. Receive a breath test result for which Automatic Record Capture is set to Off Enable Pairing This function is used to pair an LE5 Alcohol Tester with an Android device. You will be prompted with a request to give permission to make your Android device visible to other Bluetooth devices for 120 seconds. You need to select this each time you want to pair a new LE5 Alcohol Tester with an Android device Printer Configuration Configure Ticket Layout In here you can choose whether to print the Sample Serial Number on the ticket Connect To Printer The printer must be switched on and within Bluetooth wireless range of the Android device. When this option is selected, the Android device will commence searching for nearby Bluetooth devices Disconnect from Printer (only appears when connected to a printer) This option becomes available when the Android device has a live connection to a Bluetooth printer. When selected the Android device will disconnect from the printer Record View screen You can access the Record View screen by tapping on a saved record from the List View screen Print (appears if a printer is connected via Bluetooth) This will print the current ticket Delete This will delete the current record. You are prompted to confirm that you wish to delete the record, before it is deleted. 10 5. Setup 5.1 Supervised testing Data fields Automatic Captures should generally not be checked. Automatic Captures takes a sequence of selfie photos whilst on the Add Record screen until a breath test result is recorded. All other data fields can be checked/ unchecked based on your requirements Other settings All other settings can be configured as per your requirements. Fig 12. Data Fields. 11 5.2 Unsupervised testing When someone needs to provide a breath test sample but cannot be supervised then the Automatic Captures feature helps the donor prove that they provided a sample. This feature can be used to capture a sequence of selfie pictures during the point of a breath test to prove a sample was taken see example on the right Data fields Automatic Captures must be checked to be able to use the selfie feature. All other data fields can be checked/unchecked based on your requirements. You must be on the Add Record screen to trigger the automatic capture functionality. Fig 14. Automatic Capture a test record example Sync results Set Sync Results to Automatic if you require all test results to be synchronised to AlcoCONNECT Live immediately after each test is completed. 12 6. LE5 Alcohol Tester 6.1 User menu functionality 1. Access the user menu by pressing the up and down keys simultaneously whilst in the idle screen mode. 2. Use the up and down keys to navigate menu options. 3. Use the test key to select a menu item or scroll through the various setting options of a menu item. 4. Use the up and down keys to navigate to the Back option to exit the menu. 6.2 Pairing an LE5 Alcohol Tester Idle screen mode Test key 16/02/ :20:42 press to test Android device 1. Switch on Bluetooth if you do not turn on Bluetooth, AlcoCONNECT mobile will prompt you that it is required when you attempt to pair a device App 2. Access the menu on the List View screen and choose Enable Pairing. 3. A pop-up screen will appear requesting for Bluetooth permission. 4. Tap YES to allow Bluetooth access LE5 Alcohol Tester Note: These instructions relate to an LE5 Alcohol Tester on Firmware Version S Up and down keys. Press both keys simultaneously to access the user menu. Fig 17. Firstly check the LE5 Alcohol Tester software version by accessing the user menu and select About. 6. Access the user menu. 7. Use the down key and choose Bluetooth Comms in the menu. 8. Make sure Enable Bluetooth is set to Yes. 9. Select Serial. 10. Select Auto Send Standard. 11. Make sure Auto Send Standard is set to All. 12. Select Auto Send Passive. 13. Make sure Auto Send Passive is set to All. 14. Select Pairing. 15. The device will display Searching. 16. Available Bluetooth devices will appear. Select a device that you want to pair with. 17. The device will display Pairing. 18. You may be prompted to enter a pairing pin on the Android device (when first pairing to that device). 13 6.3 Pairing multiple LE5 Alcohol Testers You can pair multiple LE5 Alcohol Testers by repeating the process above with a different LE5 Alcohol Tester. If you have multiple LE5 Alcohol Testers paired, multiple breath tests are queued up for processing. Refer to More than one LE5 Alcohol Tester paired for more details. 6.4 Warning: Pairing more than one Android device to an LE5 Alcohol Tester It is not advisable to pair more than one Android device to one LE5 at any one time. Test records must be synchronised in sequential order as per recorded on a LE5. Failure to sync in sequential test order will cause the latest record(s) to overwrite the order of older record(s) Sync Android devices in chronological sequence Should pairing more than one Android device not be avoidable, ensure that the older test records off the first Android device are synchronised firstly before any new ones. sales@alcolizer.com Alcolizer Technology 13 of 19

14 7. Printer The currently compatible Bluetooth printer is the SPRT T7 BT Printer. 7.1 Pairing a printer Android device 1. Switch on Bluetooth if you do not turn on Bluetooth, AlcoCONNECT mobile will prompt you that it is required once you choose Connect To Printer from the menu App 2. Select Printer Configuration from the main menu. 3. Select Connect To Printer. 4. AlcoCONNECT mobile will scan for available Bluetooth devices. 5. Look for the appropriate printer in the list and tap to choose it. 6. You may be prompted to enter a pairing pin. By default, this will generally be On successful pairing you will see Connected being momentarily displayed. 8. Printing of test records from AlcoCONNECT mobile can now occur. 15 8. Receive a breath test 8.1 Supervised testing Android device 1. Make sure Bluetooth is switched on and the Android device and LE5 Alcohol Tester are paired. 2. Via the List View screen, access the main menu and select Settings : a. Select Data Fields and choose items you want to be able to have access to on the Add Record screen when manually processing a result. b. Choose the records that should be automatically captured. As a general rule, Negative Results would be the standard setting. Negative Results: will be automatically saved (no manual save required). Positive Results: will always open the Add Record screen and allow you to enter extra details as defined in the Data Fields menu. c. Choose whether you want to Sync Results to AlcoCONNECT Live automatically when a record is saved. This should only be set to Automatic if you have Wi-Fi or data access on the Android device. d. If you are using a printer, choose the records that should be printed automatically. Generally, you would select Positive Results. i.e. negative results will not be printed, however positive results will be. You must connect to a printer for this to work. 3. Perform a breath test on the paired LE5 Alcohol Tester. The record will be received if you are on either the List View screen or the Add Record screen. If you are on the Record View screen or in a menu, the result will NOT be received Receiving a breath test while on the Add Record screen If you are on the Add Record screen processing a breath test, and another breath test is received by AlcoCONNECT mobile, the response differs depending on whether you have one or more LE5 Alcohol Testers paired One LE5 Alcohol Tester paired When you have one LE5 Alcohol Tester paired, AlcoCONNECT mobile will ask whether you want the new breath test to overwrite the existing breath test. Tap OK to replace the original result, or CANCEL to keep the original result More than one LE5 Alcohol Tester paired When you have more than one LE5 Alcohol Tester paired, any new breath tests that are received will be added to the queue for processing after you have finished and saved the current breath test. 16 8.2 Unsupervised testing Android device 1. Make sure Bluetooth is switched on, and the Android device and LE5 Alcohol Tester are paired. 2. Ensure sure the Android device has uninterrupted internet connection to automatically send or sync results to AlcoCONNECT Live App 1. Open AlcoCONNECT mobile. 2. Tap the + symbol in the navigation bar. 3. AlcoCONNECT mobile will then wait for a breath sample. 4. AlcoCONNECT mobile will start to take a sequence of selfie photos every 2 seconds. Once a breath test has been recorded it will save the last set of selfie pictures from a test (up to four selfie photos). A test can be discarded at any stage. 5. Photos must show your face and your mouth blowing into the LE5 Alcohol Tester. 6. When the breath test is received, tap the tick in the navigation bar or SAVE to save the record. Fig 25. 17 9. View a breath test 1. From the List View screen, tap on a breath test record. You will see the Record View screen. 2. From this screen you can print or delete the individual record. 9.1 Print a breath test (will only appear if a printer is connected) 1. Tap the menu whilst you are in the Record View screen. 2. Tap Print. 3. If the printer is switched on and Bluetooth connected, a ticket will be printed. 9.2 Delete a breath test 1. Tap the menu whilst you are in the Record View screen. 2. Tap Delete. 3. You will be prompted to confirm that you would like to delete the record. Tap OK to continue with deletion. sales@alcolizer.com Alcolizer Technology 17 of 19

18 10. Synchronising to AlcoCONNECT Live Users can synchronise all test data to the AlcoCONNECT Live Data system and with an active login, view analysed results online. 1. From the main menu, choose Sync All. This will start the sync process and advise of success. 2. You can choose to automatically sync all records as they are saved. From the main menu, choose Settings and then Sync Results. Set this to Automatic. This functionality requires uninterrupted internet connection. 11. Deleting all logs 1. In the View List screen, select Delete All from the menu. 2. You will be prompted to confirm as this CANNOT be undone. 3. Confirm by tapping DELETE ALL. Fig 27. Delete All Records Fig 28.
