Configure the DIP switches to select a boot mode. Step 2: If starts from SD card, please insert the SD card with burned-in OS or bootloader. Step 3: Power the board using a 9V/1.5A power adapter through the DCIN interface. Step 4: Turn on the power switch located in the upper right of the board. Step 5: Keep pressing the SW12 button located in the lower right of the board, until start-up LOGO is displayed on the LCD, release the button. Now the x210ii starts to run. 20

23 2.2.3 Hardware interface 1 Serial ports for Debugging x210ii provides two serial port for debugging, the UART0 (left) and the UART2 (right). 2 HDMI interface x210ii supports HDMI output via the onboard mini HDMI interface and an additional mini HDMI cable. Audio/Video signals can be presented on terminal devices which support HDMI1.3 protocol, such as TV sets, monitors, etc. 3 camera interface The camera interface is a 24-PIN general interface, supports all OV serial cameras, eliminates the need of camera adaptor. Adjust the output voltage for different camera. 23

24 4 ETH X210ii support cable Ethernet interface, plate load DM9000CEP, the user can through the cable Ethernet surf the Internet. 5 Earphone interface The onboard earphone jack provides audio output to earphone or power amplifier. 6 Loudspeaker interface x210ii supports external loudspeaker via onboard pin header. 7 Recording input x210ii supports sound recording via onboard MIC, no extra MIC is needed. 24

25 8 DIP switches The DIP switches SW3 and SW4 are used for boot mode configuration. For more details, refer to the related chapter in this document. As shown in the picture above, upper for high level and lower for low level. 9 SD card slot x210ii provides two SD card slots, as shown in the picture above, left for SDIO channel 3, right for SDIO channel 2. Note that the SDIO channel 0 has been used for inand, therefore, when starting-up from SD card, the card SHOULD be inserted into the right slot, or the start-up will fail. 10 Single keys x210ii provides six single keys: KEY FUNCTION KEY FUNCTION SW5 LEFT SW8 RIGHT SW6 DOWM SW9 BACK SW7 UP SW10 MENU 25

26 11 LED x210ii provides 5 LEDs, the left 4 LEDs are connected to and controlled by the IO ports, the LED on the right side are power indicator. Note: the power indicator will NOT light up if only the power switch SW2 was turn on. Turn on the power switch SW2 and press the POWER ON button, then the power indicator will light up. 12 USB OTG Interface The interface is used for programming/synchronizing android/wince code. 13 USB HOST Interface The S5PV210 provides only one channel USB HOST, we expand it as four channels via a USB expansion HUB chip AU9254, supports USB devices such as mouse, keyboard, USB WIFI, USB Bluetooth, USB 3G, etc. 14 Reset button, start-up/shutdown button 26

27 As shown in the picture above, SW11 is hardware reset button, SW12 is start-up/shutdown button. Turn on the power switch SW2, keep pressing the start-up/shutdown button SW12 to enter system. When the android system is running, click SW12 to sleep, click SW12 again to wake up, keep pressing SW12 to shutdown. 15 LCD Interface x210ii provides a 40-pin LCD interface, used for connecting LCD to the board through ribbon cable. The Pin 1 of the 40-pin interface is PWM pin, can be used to adjust the LCD backlight. VGA interface, LVDS interface are also available via this 40-pin interface. 16 RTC battery Backup battery is used to keep RTC working when power down. 17 Capacitive touch screen interface Interfaces are defined as follows: Pin function Pin function 1 CAP_INT 3 I2C_SDA1 2 CAP_WAKE 4 I2C_SCL1 Touch sensing data on the capacitive touch screen are transferred through these four signals, to realize the multi-point touch. 18 Precision adjustable potentiometer The potentiometer is connected to the S5PV210 ADC input, for ADC precisely sampling. 27

28 19 Buzzer The active buzzer sounds when DC power is provided. A triode is used to control the DC power. Use the buzzer for PWM testing by connecting the PWM pin to the triode. You can also use it to make message noise. 28
