3 1. Barix professional IP decoders for audio streaming applications Barix Exstreamer devices are the professional solution for building a multi-location in-store radio and background music systems. High-quality audio and robust, long-lasting technology and support for live paging capabilities allow you to build a professional streaming system. Barix Exstreamer devices are used in thousands of locations around the world for branding, entertainment and audio advertising delivery. 4 2. Barix RetailPlayer and Portal The Barix RetailPlayer is a cost effective multi-site internet audio streaming player system with centralized management. It consists of a mangement platform that is either a cloud service or can be self hosted and the new compact Barix RetailPlayer decoder. It features an Ethernet port, stereo audio interface and supports decoding of AAC+ and MP3 streams. The solution supports remote management that includes channel lists, volume, firmware update, and user access. Smart stream buffering avoids dropouts and guarantees continous music playout. Channel lists can be configured in the Barix RetailPlayer management portal which allows to manage players by customer group (brands). A control app can be paired to the devices to allow channel and volume control by authorized users (using a QR code for identification). Barix Store&Play for streaming and stored BGM applications The Exstreamer Store&Play reproduces background music playlists and advertisements according to schedule, and solves low bandwidth and even no bandwidth problems. The device connects to an FTP or HTTP configuration and content servers, determines if updates are available, and downloads new music and advertisements as required. Highly configurable, the Exstreamer Store&Play can work either fully online, with only limited Internet access or completely offline as a standalone player. Content is stored internally on a microsd card or externally on a USB stick. The built-in Real-Time Clock (RTC) ensures that all files play out according to schedule. 6 Barix Store&Play Configurator The Store&Play Configurator (SPC) is a free, simple Java-based application to support Barix Exstreamer Store&Play device configuration, generating all necessary playlists and configuration files required for operation. This application enables customers to easily manage multiple configuration variables of Exstreamer Store&Play devices with the help of graphical user interfaces to create and edit playlists (M3U files), tracks (MP3 files) and the main Store&Play configuration file (player.cfg). The files generated by the application can be uploaded to the corresponding content and configuration FTP or HTTP servers, or copied to a USB stick for direct with an Exstreamer Store&Play device to start immediate playback.
