4 II. Quick Start 1.Switch-on: a) Push the Power key on the right side upward to switch on the recorder; b) When the recorder is powered on, press and hold the Play key to turn oﬀ or turn on it. 2. Language selec on: A er the recorder is powered on, press and hold the Menu key to enter se ngs and select your language in System Se ng->language. 3. Date and me se ngs: A er the recorder is powered on, press and hold the Menu key to enter se ngs and set date and me in System Se ng->time and Date ; press and hold the Switch key to adjust the posi on; press / to adjust values; press the Menu key to conﬁrm. -3-

6 A-B Repeat: a) Press the A-B key on the right side, and an A-B logo will be displayed on the screen and point A (star ng point of repeat) is selected; b) Press the A-B key again, and point B (end point of repeat) is selected and the recorder repeats the record between A and B; press the A-B key again to stop repeat, and the rec ﬁle is played in normal mode; In the ﬁle play interface, press the Menu key to view the list of rec ﬁles; press the / " key to select and play the target ﬁle. 7 6. Music File Play: a) Connect the recorder to PC via a USB cable; copy songs on PC to the recorder to play music on the recorder. Se ng Notes In the interface of Music File Play or Rec File Play, press and hold the Menu key to enter se ngs under which there are four sub-op ons: 1.Repeat: Repeat One, Repeat All, Random, and Variable Speed; Variable Speed: The speed ranges from -8 to +8. A posi ve value means quick play; the larger the value is, the higher the speed is; a nega ve value means slow play; the smaller the value is, the lower the speed is; 2.Equalize: Six sound eﬀects i.e. Rock, Funk, Hip-hop, Jazz, Classic, and Electronic; 3.Rec Se ng: Sub-items Brief Descrip on of Se ngs Rec Format MIC Sensitivity Rec Quality MP3/WAV formats; WAV is a common format with high recording quality; MP3 format is available for long-dura on recording; The higher the sensi vity is, the louder the recorded sound is; 32/64/128/192Kbps for MP3 ; 512/768/1024/1536Kbps for WAV -7-

9 The default dura on is 60min, which means a rec ﬁle with a dura on of Rec Subsec on 60min is generated every 60min; this func on can be disabled; VOR Voice Control On: When the external sound reaches a certain decibel, the recorder starts recording; when it s quiet or the external sound is below a certain decibel, the recorder pauses recording; a er the mode is on, a VOR Voice VOR logo will appear on the Control screen; VOR Sensi vity: There are three levels i.e. Low, Medium and High. The higher the sensi vity is, the lower the external sound is, which means the recorder can start recording; When the Timing Rec mode is on and Start Time and End Time are set, the recorder starts recording at Start Time and stops and saves Timing recoding at End Time ; Rec One Time or Daily are op onal for Period ; The se ng is similar to alarm se ng on the phone. Rec Indicator On: A indicator is on in the upper part of the screen during recording. Oﬀ: No indicator is on during recording. -8-

Three op onal languages: English, Japanese and German Displaying the current available space; a er the disc is full, copy rec ﬁles to PC in me; Ini alizing the disc and clearing all stored data; generally, do not use the func on; Format this If case of failure in rec ﬁle saving or Device slow opera on, use the func on with cau on; Note: Back up rec ﬁles before forma ng; Factory Restoring factory se ng without Reset damaging rec ﬁles. -9-
