Initially created for SensioLabs internal needs, Fabien Potencier, Symfony project manager and SensioLabs CEO, decided quickly to turn the framework into Open Source. Since 12 years, the Community created around Symfony, grew up so much + 1,000 code contributors + 500,000 Symfony developers + 1 Billion downloads since 2011 The framework is downloaded more than 10,000,000 times monthly!
