Developing system arquitechture that enables an easy and smooth access to the data provided by the different sensors present in the network. Providing the necessary technologies that will adapt sensors & network configuration in order to meet final users needs and getting In-situ Monitoring sensor web. 3 Air pollution scenario goals Setting up a MOBILE sensor network of gas analyzers & sensors that complements present fixed stations networks present in the city of Valladolid Provide GPS related information to the sensor info, like Latitude Longitude, Altitude, Speed Real-Time Communication Link from the OBUs & sensors to the interface control center. Use of OGC standards like SOS to feed sensors network with collected and pre-processed info Remote control and configuration of the network OBUs and sensors Creating real-time pollution maps & sensor data historics for the final user. 4 Air monitoring scenario location Valladolid is a city located in north-central Spain, upon the Pisuerga River. It is the capital of the province of Valladolid and of the autonomous community of Castile and Leon. It has a big industrial activity related to automotive and chemical activities with several industrial parks located in the outskirts of the city The local bus operator AUVASA provides a large network of buses covering all the interesting spots in the city for the OSIRIS purposes WP /10/05 Page 4 GMV, 2007

15 Future work Expand the number of mobile stations in the sensor web Increase the number and kind of the sensors installed into each mobile unit of the sensor network in order to maximize the info provided to the user Study the routes of the available mobile units in order to produce a model maximizing the spatial coverage of the network while keeping at the minimum the numbers of unit required Minimize as much as possible the size of the sensors installed in the mobile unit, and the wiring required to join all the elements on board User suggestions and requirements to be fit into current arquitechture WP /10/05 Page 15 GMV, 2007
