It connects battery-powered electronic escutcheons by means of low-power radio transceivers (2.4 GHz) fitted on the inside of the escutcheons. These receivers interact with SALTO Gateways (connected by Ethernet/WiFi to the central management computer) that are installed in pre-defined SALTO wireless areas to provide a real-time wireless access control network.
