1 Lab 7: Baselines and History Objectives After completing this lab, you will be able to: Compare a historical version of a Rhapsody unit to the current one. Create a baseline in a component Scenario A baseline is a repository object that records the state of a component at a specific time. Every component has at least one baseline, which was created when the component was created (Initial Baseline). You can deliver a baseline to a workspace flow target to denote the completion of a group of related change sets, or any time you want to propagate the current state of projects in the component to one or more flow targets. You can configure your repository workspace to use another version of a component (an experimental one, or perhaps one that is known to be stable) by replacing the component with one of its other baselines. You can also use baselines to populate new repository workspaces or streams. In this Lab, you will first examine the history of a Rhapsody unit. You will then create a baseline of the Sample Models component. It is assumed you are still working in Pete s workspace. Task 1: Unit History In this task, you will examine the history of a Rhapsody unit. 1. Open the History of a Unit: a. Switch to Rhapsody b. Right-click the Analysis package and select Rational Team Concert Show History: Copyright IBM Corp

Close Rhapsody Diff Merge Task 2: Create a Baseline Baselines can be created for Components or for entire Streams (which are called Snapshots). In this task, you will create a baseline of the Sample Models Default Component from which future versions can be compared. 1. Create a Baseline: a. Select the Team Artifacts tab b. Expand Sample Models [RMM] Source Control All Streams Sample Models Stream (Sample Models) Copyright IBM Corp

4 Rhapsody Model Manager Tech Jam c. Right-click the Sample Models Default Component (*1: Initial Baseline) and select New Baseline d. In the Baseline name field, type Sample Models v1.1 e. Click OK 2. View Baselines for a Component: 1-4 Copyright IBM Corp. 2018

5 Lab 3 Editing a Rhapsody Model in RMM a. Right-click the Sample Models Default Component and select Show Baselines: b. The History tab is now populated with the baselines for this component: 3. Replace a Component Version: a. In the Team Artifacts view, right-click the Sample Models Default Component and select Replace With: b. Note that you could replace this component with a different baseline or even with a replacement component from a different stream or workspace c. Click away from the menu (you will not actually replace it in this lab) 4. Accept the Changeset: a. Select the Pending Changes tab b.
