1 Lab 1: Creating an RMM Project Objectives After completing this lab, you will be able to: Create a Rhapsody Model Manager project on the Jazz Team Server Scenario In this Lab, you will create a new Rhapsody Model Manager (RMM) project in the Architecture Management (/am) area of the Jazz Team Server. Note that in the supplied image there are already project areas in Requirements Management (/rm) and Change and Configuration Management (/ccm), to which you will connect your RMM project. Note also that the connected /ccm project is only used for task management change and configuration management of the Rhapsody models is instead performed by RMM. Change sets in RMM will be linked to work items in CCM. Since the terminology can often be overloaded the following graphic illustrates the architecture. Rational Team Concert has an eclipse based client as well as an area on the Jazz Team Server although when some folks say RTC they may be referring to either or both of these. The same is true for Rhapsody Model Manager which has an area on the Jazz Team Server (/am) as well as adapters for Rhapsody and RTC to allow communication. RMM therefore may refer to just the area on the Jazz Team Server or the entire capability. Note that there is no direct connection between Rhapsody and the Jazz Team Server Rhapsody works with model files on the hard drive that are managed by RTC. 2 Rhapsody Model Manager Tech Jam Task 1: Create a New RMM Project Area In this task, you will create a new project area in the architecture management (/am) area of the Jazz team server. 1. Create an RMM Project Area: a. Open a web browser b. Navigate to or use the shortcut: c. Login using the User ID and Password ibm d. In the top, right-hand corner of the page, click Manage All Projects: e. In the top, right-hand corner of the page, click Create Project Area: f. In the Project Area Name field, type Sample Models. g. In the Process section, select Use process template to initialize this project area h. 3 Lab 1 Creating an RMM Project i. In the top, right-hand corner of the page, click Save: TIP: Note that the initial save takes a couple of minutes be patient. 2. Add Project Members: a. In the Members section, click Add b. In the filter box, type * c. In the Matching users section, double-click ibm ibm, Dan dan and Pete pete to add them into the Selected users section: d. Click Next e. Select all roles and click the right-arrow to give all three users all available roles: Copyright IBM Corp

4 Rhapsody Model Manager Tech Jam f. Click Finish g. Click Save h. In the Send Team Invitations to New Members dialog, click Cancel: 3. Add an Association to a Requirements Management Project: a. At the bottom of the page, in the Associations section, click Add b. In the Application field, select /rm c. In the Artifact Containers field, select RMM Requirements 1-4 Copyright IBM Corp. 2018

5 Lab 1 Creating an RMM Project TIP: The exact requirement set does not matter for this lab (in fact these are some dummy requirements for a parking system) we simply need a source of requirements we can later bring into Rhapsody. d. Click OK 4. Add an Association to a CCM Project: a. At the bottom of the page, in the Associations section, click Add b. In the Application field, select /ccm c. In the Association field, select Uses Change Sets TIP: This is required to allow RMM change sets to be associated with work items in an RTC Project Area. Why it s called uses change sets is beyond me I would have thought provides change sets (or uses change requests) would be more appropriate but this is the correct setting. d.
