About Touchpanel Graphics Touchpanel Graphics are a collection of image files that can be used as backgrounds for touchpanel pages created with SystemBuilder, D3 Pro and VTProe. The collection is available as a separate installation from the SystemBuilder and D3 Pro Templates files. The images are designed to be used with the "Frosted Glass" theme. The Touchpanel Graphics folder is located in the Cresdb directory, specifically: Program Files\Crestron\Cresdb\Images\Touchpanel Graphics. The current implementation of the Touchpanel Graphics installation provides 11 attractive background themes: II. Using the Images Unlike the SystemBuilder and D3 Pro Templates files, which require no user interaction, Touchapanel Graphics files must be manually imported as graphic resources into the VTPro-e project. In addition, the VTPro-e project must be set to the "Frosted Glass" theme. The Touchpanel Graphics directory contains subfolders categorized by resolution, size, and one-way/two-way communication, as shown in the following table:

3 Page 3 of 5 To import background images 1. Set the project theme to "Frosted Glass" as follows: In SystemBuilder/D3 Pro, open the Interface Properties dialog and click the General Tab. Click the Show Template Preview button. Under "Available Themes", select the desired Frosted Glass theme (Light or Dark). 2. Edit the touchpanel project in VTPro-e, either by opening the project in VTPro-e outside of SystemBuilder/D3 Pro, or by selecting the Edit in VTProe option in SystemBuilder/D3 Pro. For best results, it is recommended to edit the project after all device

4 Page 4 of 5 programming has been completed. Otherwise, if devices are added after the background image is changed, the new device pages will not include the new background. 3. Open a page in the touchpanel project and click a blank area of the page to view its properties in the Property Grid. (Click Property Grid on the Options menu to show the grid if it is not already visible.) 4. Expand the Image property and take note of the filename of the current background image in the Graphic Resource field. 5. Click the ResourceView tab to view the list of graphic resources. 6. In Resource View, expand the Image Files folder and locate the image file referenced in step Right-click that image, and select Replace Image. 8. Locate the desired background graphic. The Touchpanel Graphics directory is located in Cresdb\Images\Touchpanel Graphics, and contains subfolders corresponding to the panel s resolution and size. The filenames include the size, e.g., Parquet_800x600.jpg.

5 Page 5 of 5 In addition to the main (page size) images, the directories contain images prefaced by Sub_Bckgnd_. These are images of different sizes suitable for subpages in the project. 9. Select the desired image and click Import. This will replace all instances of the previous background image with the new background image. 10. Repeat the procedure for any subpage backgrounds you want to replace, always verifying that the size and resolution of the replacement image is correct for that subpage. SystemBuilder templates typically use transparent backgrounds for subpages, so replacing an image on a subpage will not be necessary in most cases. Notes: If a new device is added to the system, any interfaces set up to control that device will retrieve the pages for that device from the appropriate template, and thus the new background image will need to be imported manually to those pages as well. Under an Interface's Properties, on the Advanced tab, if you select the "Rebuild interface project" check box, then when you click OK the project will be rebuilt from scratch using the latest templates. This will remove the new background image and any logic you may have added to the interface manually. Use this feature with caution.
