4 1 Overview A change needs to be made to the PPP6005 UI Wages and California SWT Exceptions Report to include all employees with invalid first or last names on this report so that campuses can use this information to correct the name on the EDB. 1.1 Background SR83741 was created to modify the file format for processing the Quarterly Contribution Return and Report of Wages (DE 9C) with the Employment Development Department (EDD) from the current format to XML. The PPP6005 change was originally part of SR83741; however, it was later determined that it should be addressed in a separate BRD because it is a change to the Payroll system and not the PIN process. 1.2 Objectives A change needs to be made to the PPP6005 report to include all employees with invalid first or last names on this report. Invalid names are names with other than alpha, blank or the following allowed characters:. & /- The message invalid name will appear on the next line after the name. The employee will be written to the output file for the PIN EDD interface. This will give the campuses an opportunity to correct the name on the EDB and re-run if they choose to. The PIN EDD ETL interface will validate first and last names.
