3 Getting Started About iscanbrowser is a powerful tool used to scan data into web applications on an ios device. You can set up WebForm Rules to automatically select a field to import data, allowing you to avoid the need to tap the field as the focal point for the cursor. This is useful when you need to scan data quickly without using the ios device s interface. Before you proceed, install iscanbrowser from the AppStore. Configuration iscanbrowser is a versatile application with many options and features. The below section explores how to use the most popular features. Web Browser Serialio designed the core browser functionality with the user in mind. You can bookmark favorite pages, navigate the browsing history, share pages, clear cookies and even manage your passwords from within iscanbrowser. See the descriptions and uses of common features below. Navigating the Web Startup & Home Page Users of iscanbrowser can designate a custom Home Screen and choose between displaying either the Home Screen or a list of favorites each launch. Tabbed Browsing To use multi-tabbed browsing, tap on the Tab icon, as shown below. Here, you can create new Views, close Views and switch between them.

4 History & Bookmarks iscanbrowser allows you to navigate forward and backward through your browsing history, view your browsing history (like Safari) and manage bookmarks. To access your browsing history and bookmarks, tap the History icon, as shown below. Share Menu Share almost any webpage to another application or service, by tapping the Share icon, as shown below. Using the Password Manager To enable iscanbrowser s built-in Account Manager, follow the below instructions. 1. Navigate to Settings 2. Scroll down to Account Manager 3. Toggle the Slider to the green position to enable it.

5 4. Type in a secure PIN Passcode when prompted, as shown below. You will have to enter it in twice to confirm. 5. Now, you can save login credentials! 6. To access saved passwords, navigate back to Settings Account Manager 7. Tap on Password List. 8. Enter in your secure passcode.

6 Clearing Confidential Data As of version , iscanbrowser includes privacy features, such as clearing the browser s cache. 1. Navigate to Settings 2. Scroll down to Privacy 3. Tap on Delete All Cookies Serial Device Manager iscanbrowser s built-in device manager (SDM) that allows you to configure and maintain multiple Bluetooth connections. For example, you can have a Scanfob 3002i barcode scanner connected via MFi mode, a Scanfob 2006 barcode scanner connected in HID mode and an idchamp RS3 connected via BLE mode. This unique feature also allows you to manage each device s settings and configurations independently or universally. Connecting Your Bluetooth Devices BLE Connections To put a Scanfob 2006, 3002i or 4000 barcode scanner in BLE mode, print out the BLE control code. To connect a device in BLE mode to iscanbrowser, follow the steps below: 1. Make your BLE device discoverable. 2. Open iscanbrowser. 3. Navigate to the Serial Device Manager. 4. Tap on your device when it appears under BLE Devices.

7 MFi Connections To connect a device in MFi mode to iscanbrowser, follow the steps below: 1. Make your MFi device discoverable. 2. Open ios Settings. 3. Navigate to Bluetooth Settings. 4. Tap on your device when it appears. 5. After pairing through ios Bluetooth Settings, open iscanbrowser. 6. Navigate to the Serial Device Manager. 7. Tap on your device when you see it appear under MFi Devices. HID Connections Devices in HID or Bluetooth keyboard mode, do not need to be paired with iscanbrowser. Instead, pair through ios Bluetooth Settings directly. The device will behave like a keyboard and insert the scanned data at the cursor location. For HID mode to work best, you must enable compatibility options. To configure iscanbrowser to work with HID connections, follow the below instructions. 1. Navigate to iscanbrowser Settings. 2. Scroll down to Scanfob 2006 barcode scanner Support. 3. Toggle the slider to enable Optimize HID input. 4. Toggle the slider to enable Detect Scanfob 2006 barcode scanner

8 Using Device-Specific Settings After pairing your device(s), you will be able to access device-specific information and options for compatible devices. See the following example (Scanfob 2006 barcode scanner). 1. Tap on the gear icon to the left of your device s name. 2. A page with information about the device (e.g. serial number) and any device-specific options available. The Scanfob 2006 barcode scanner in BLE mode has several options.

9 WebForm Rules To begin using WebForm Rules (WFR), you must first enable them by navigating to Settings WebForm Rules Toggle the slider to green. iscanbrowser comes with a handful of sample WFRs that you can view and edit by tapping on Edit WebForm Rules.

10 To create a new WebForm Rule, tap on New Rule at the upper right-hand corner of the WebForm Rules page. Doing so will display a dialogue asking if you would like to use the WFR Wizard ( Use wizard ) or manually create a rule ( Use dialog. ) The following two sections will provide instructions for creating a new WebForm Rule with either the dialogue or the wizard.

11 Using the Dialogue 1. After tapping on New Rule, select Use dialog for this section. 2. The first section of the New Rule page will have sections for the Name, URL, New Page Rule, and Rule is active as shown below. 3. To edit the name or the URL, tap on the placeholder text. 4. Toggle the New Page Rule slider if this is a rule you want to execute on a new page. 5. Toggle the Rule is active slider if you want to activate this rule immediately. 6. The next section is the Target Input section. Here you can set how iscanbrowser will select the input field. 7. To select the target input, tap on the arrow to the left of Focused input. 8. The options include: Focused input This option will use the cursor location (cursor focus) to determine the input field. Find by ID This option will use the field ID to determine the input field. For example, Google s search bar has q as the field ID. Find by Name This option will use the field name to determine the input field. For example, a common field name is username.

12 JavaScript Function This option will rely on your custom JavaScript function to determine the input field. 9. The last section is the Additional Options section. 10. Here, you have following options: Execute JS Here you can paste your custom JavaScript to execute. Call Submit Enable this option will you would like to simulate pressing/clicking a Submit button (e.g. Google s Search button) Only If Empty Enable this option if you only want iscanbrowser to only enter data into the input field if it is empty. Append Data Enable this option if you would like to append the new data to existing data in the field. Match sound Tap on the Match sound button to select a custom sound for iscanbrowser to play after a successful match. 11. Once you have configured the options, tap on Save to finish. Using the WFR Wizard Before using the WFR Wizard, exit iscanbrowser settings and navigate to the website address that you are creating the WebForm Rule for. Once you have done this, continue to the steps below. 1. Navigate to Settings Edit WebForm Rules 2. Tap on New Rule, then select Use wizard for this section.

13 3. Tap on OK, then tap on the input field where iscanbrowser will insert scanned data. 4. Select the target input. 5. Under Advanced Options, adjust the settings, then tap Next. 6. Only if empty Enter scanned data if the field is empty 7. Call submit Simulate tapping/clicking a Submit button.

14 8. Under URL Options, select which website(s) your WFR will apply to. 9. Under Advanced Options enable New page rule if iscanbrowser will load a new page before executing the rule. Leave disabled for Active page rule. 10. Tap Next. 11. The next section is for enabling and defining custom JavaScript.

15 12. Finally, name your WebForm Rule and set it to Active if you want to use it immediately. 13. Under No-Match Sound, is where you can define and use a custom sound for when there is no match for the rule. Click HERE to view a video of this process in action! Additional Functionality Using Triggers With iscanbrowser, you can configure a trigger key for up to three connected devices. By tapping the designated trigger key, you send a signal to the associated device to either emit a laser to read a barcode or to scan for RFID/NFC tags. See the two trigger icons below. Trigger # 1

16 Trigger # 2 Trigger # 3 The third trigger is a floating trigger, or a button that is clickable and draggable. Defining Triggers Tapping on a trigger button before it defines, results in a pop-up window asking if you would like to configure the trigger(s). Once in iscanbrowser s settings, tap on the trigger you would like to associate with a device. It s important to note that, you can only associate a trigger with a device if you have already connected the device to iscanbrowser. After pairing with compatible devices, they will appear as options for each trigger. The following picture is after associating a Scanfob 3002i barcode scanner with Trigger #2.

17 Uploading Captured Data to Cloud-in-Hand iscanbrowser can capture scanned in data while you are working so that you can later upload it to your Cloud-in-Hand account. To do this, follow the instructions below. 1. Navigate to iscanbrowser Settings. 2. Beneath Scanner Settings, you should see an option labeled Save scans to file. 3. Toggle the slider to enable it. 4. After leaving the Settings page, a list of your scan history will appear as pop-up window. 5. Tap on Upload (located at the top right corner of the window) 6. Once uploaded, you will see a prompt, Do you want to clear saved barcodes?

18 7. Select Clear to clear the list. 8. Select Cancel to keep the data stored locally. ID Tech UniMag Support IScanBrowser offers support for the UniMag card reader for ios. To learn more about this feature, contact Virtual Scanners iscanbrowser has two built-in virtual scanners. These virtual scanners are ideal for testing a WebForm Rule or entering in data that is frequently used. To add virtual scanner data, follow the below instructions. 1. Navigate to Settings Scanner Settings 2. Tap on Define Virtual Data 3. Tap on Add New

19 4. Type in your frequently or needed dummy data. Data Processing With iscanbrowser, you can tailor the data before sending it to either Cloud-in-Hand.com or your custom web application. To configure this feature, navigate to Settings Filter Settings and toggle the slider to Enable filter.

20 Premium Features To unlock iscanbrowser s premium features, follow the below instructions. 1. Navigate to Settings. 2. Scroll until you see the button labeled Unlock Application Features. 3. Tap on it. 4. After tapping on Unlock Application Features, you will see a list of features available to purchase. Tap on the desired feature to purchase it. Once purchased, the premium feature will link to your AppleID and you will be able to them on any ios device connected to your icloud Account.

22 FAQ Which scanners offered by Serialio are compatible with iscanbrowser? Nearly all of Serialio brand scanners are compatible with iscanbrowser. Some of the more popular options include: Scanfob 2006 barcode scanner Scanfob 3002i barcode scanner Scanfob Ultra-BB2 Scanfob NFC-BB2 idchamp RS3 idchamp RS4 How do WebForm Rules work? WebForm Rules fall into two categories; Active Page Rules and New Page Rules. Active Page Rules send data from the scanner to the currently loaded web page. New Page Rules load a URL before applying the rules. It is important to note that while you can have multiple Active Page Rules, only one New Page Rule can be enabled at a time. When iscanbrowser receives data (from a scanner), the application first goes through your list of Active Page Rules, trying to apply every rule for that URL. If a URL triggers a WFR by meeting its criteria (e.g. the web address, input field, etc.), the processing of the WebForm Rules list stops. If the URL does not meet the criteria for any Active Rules, iscanbrowser will then execute a New Page Rule. New Page Rules will load a new URL and set the value of the target input to the new page. What if I need specific end-characters for my web application to accept data? That is perfectly OK. You can configure Serialio brand scanners to have various prefixes, suffixes and character encodings. You can find instructions and control-codes for these options at
