1 What s new in SAP Lumira ? After a 4 month hiatus from the monthly release schedule for SAP Lumira and SAP Predictive Analysis, SAP released version of Lumira on October 2, This Lumira update contains mostly lookand-feel changes and very few functionality updates. This release introduces a new logo and icon for SAP Lumira: As well as a new welcome screen and source selection pane:

5 The only new visualizations are a funnel chart, which displays categories in sorted order by measure, and the parallel coordinates chart. Figure 9: Funnel Chart in version Figure 10: Parallel Coordinates Chart in version

6 Interface Changes The biggest changes are to the visualization interface, where most of the options have moved and the interface now more closely resembles Lumira Cloud, with the visualization roles on the right pane. Luckily, though the interface now more closely resembles Lumira cloud, aggregation functions such as average that are not supported by Lumira Cloud are still available. In addition to the interface changes, there are some formatting and processing default changes. Upon importing a new dataset for offline visualization, Lumira now automatically makes any numeric fields measures with sum aggregation. Also, all decimals are now automatically rounded to 2 digits. One key difference in functionality for saving visualizations is that each visualization can be saved over, so unless you click Create New Visualization (the yellow plus sign in the bottom right of the Visualize pane, it will copy over the existing visualization rather than saving an additional visualization as in the previous versions. The new HTML5 interface also means that there is no more right-clicking for options and menu lists, rather the user must hover over the field and wait for the settings gear button to appear. The navigation of the tool has also changed; rather than the Visualize interface being a sub-pane of the Prepare pane, it now has its own top-level navigation tab, and the Compose pane has been added. The Compose pane allows users to compose stories with one or more storyboards that show different aspects of a dataset and are customizable with text, images, color, and image widgets. In order to add visualizations to a story, the visualization must be saved in the library first from the pane. The storyboards allow users to interact with the selected visualization using specified filters in a Lumira Cloud-like interface within the desktop tool.
