2 1. How To Install Digital Factory Go to Download the full version of Jahia Digital Factory Community Edition (free to use) or the 60-day trial version of Jahia Digital Factory Enterprise Edition. Jahia Digital Factory is available for Linux, Mac and Windows. Let the installer guide you through the installation process. Select «Discovery Install» for an easy setup. The root user has access to Server Administration and can create user accounts.

3 2. How To Access Your Dashboard Log on your Digital Factory server using your username and password. If no user has been created, use root and the password you chose during setup. You can also log on from any Jahia web site (on the server) that has permissions for your account, and select «Profile» from the menu. Your Dashboard contains an overview of all your relevant information in Jahia Digital Factory : your Web Projects, your Tasks, your User Profile

4 3. How To Create A Web Project Web Projects are virtual web sites that can be edited through Jahia Digital Factory. One single Digital Factory server can host several Web Projects for different teams and can handle separate domain names if needed. On your Dashboard, Click the «Create New Web Project» button Create a Web Projet from scratch OR Or use one of the prepackaged templates Set the properties for your new Web Project, choose modules if applicable and follow the creation process You re all set. On the next pages, you will learn how to create content for your Web Project

5 4. How To Edit Content (1/2) Once logged in, go to Edit Mode using the menu on the site or through your Dashboard In Edit Mode, the same principle applies for any content in Jahia Digital Factory: Double-Click on the content to Edit

6 4. How To Edit Content (2/2) News Entry Every content has the same basic set of properties. Different content types have extra specific fields. Set properties the way you want them and save changes. Changes will not be visible on the live site until the content is published.

7 5. How To Add New Content (1/2) In Edit Mode, use the Content Selector to add any type of content and drag the item where you want it to appear. Tip : Look for the dotted line and the green icon while dragging the mouse to know where you can drop the new content. Some parts of the page may only allow certain types of content. You can use the +<type> button to create a new content of the desired type.

8 5. How To Add New Content (2/2) The Editing engine is launched and you can start defining the content s properties and entering the content. Tip : Use the Metadata tab to improve search engine referencing of your content

9 6. How To Add Images and Multimedia (1/2) Jahia Digital Factory comes with a plethora of rich content types that provide diverse, interactive content for your web sites. Drag/drop to add, double-click to Edit. Set the specific properties Use the Multimedia content types from the Content Selector to include images, embedded videos, or video streaming from sites like YouTube

10 6. How To Add Images and Multimedia (2/2) To insert an image, open the Document Manager to choose an image file on the server

11 7. How To Add Social Content Engage your visitors using the Social Components content types from the Content Selector : comments, ratings, polls, social sharing

12 8. How To Produce Multi- Lingual Content In the Editing engine, use the Language Selector to select the language of the content you wish to edit. Authorized languages are defined by the Site Administrator. Edit the content in the new language and save your changes.

13 9. How To Create A New Page Edit the new page s properties, such as Title and Template. On the Pages tab, choose the parent node for the new page, right-click and select «New Page» Your new page is now ready to accept content

14 10. How To Publish Content The changes you make in Edit Mode are not visible to users until your content is Published. Pick any node on the site (item, page, whole site ) and publish the content at this level using the Publication Menu. The Publication Manager helps you keep track of modified pages Click publish and submit your content to validation through your corporate workflow or bypass the workflow if you have sufficient rights.
