1 Fundraising Flyer Objectives: Create and format a table Format columns Set and modify tabs Insert and modify images Apply artistic effects to an image Insert and format WordArt Format paragraphs Set custom margins Apply heading styles You have been asked to create a single fold fundraising flyer to provide tips on how to raise money for good causes. The flyer will have a back and front cover with information within. Create the Flyer You will open an existing data file, create a page break, adjust orientation, and add columns, then you add an address and acknowledgements to the back using dot leader tabs and basic formatting. You will then create the title page modifying an image and using a WordArt title. On the inside of the flyer, you will insert a section break and format headings using a heading style. Then, you will Insert and format images to compliment the headings. Steps: 1. Open the Fundraising Flyer Data File. Save the file as Fundraising Flyer. Place your cursor before the first word of the first paragraph Fundraising, if it isn t there already. Press Ctrl+[Enter] to enter a page break and create a new page. Press the Show/Hide button in the Paragraph group, place your curser before the Page Break on the new page. Click the PAGE LAYOUT tab, then click the Columns button in the Page Setup group, select 2 columns. Click the Margins button, and select Narrow to change all margins to.5. Click the Orientation button, and change the orientation to Landscape. 2. Press [Enter] 4 times, then type the following address: Fundraising Made Easy 1467 South River Road Quantico, VA Ph: Press [Enter] 8 times, then type Special Thanks to:. Press [Enter] twice, then type James Gardipee, press [Tab] Type Director, Press [Enter]. Type Jennifer Connelly, press [Tab], type Creative Design, press [Enter]. Type Richard Branson, press [Tab], type Inspirer, press [Enter]. Type Your Name, press [Tab], Type Editor, then press [Enter] 7 times. Type In Memory of:, press [Enter], type Eric Teitzel, then press
2 1-5 [Enter]. Center the address and the last two lines on the page. Change the font size of the address to 18pt. 3. Select the four line of the acknowledged people. Click the Dialog Box Launcher. Click the Tabs button at the bottom. You are then presented with the Tabs Dialog box. Press the Clear All button to clear any tab that might be on the document. In the tab stop position input field enter 3.5, then click the Set button. You will notice that a tab stop of 3.5 was added to the list of tab stops. Select the tab stop in the list you just created, then select option 2 of the leader options to add a dot leader to the 3.5 tab stop. Click OK. Your column should look like the image below Select the helping hands tree image located toward the bottom of the page. Cut and paste it to the second column. Right-click the image, and select Size and Position.
3 Click the Size tab, be sure the aspect ratio is locked and change the Absolute height to 6 inches. Click the Text Wrapping tab, and change the wrapping to Behind text. Click the Position tab, and change the Horizontal alignment to the Right relative to the page. Change the absolute vertical position 1 below the margin. Click OK. 5. Right-click the image again, chose Format Picture. The Format Picture menu should open on the right. Click the Effects option. Click Soft Edges, and change the size to 55 pt., then click Artistic Effects. Click the Artistic Effects menu, then choose the Photocopy effect. Click the Layout & Properties option Helping Hands Tree for both the title and description., then Alt Text. Enter 6. Click the INSERT tab, Click WordArt from the Text group, Select the Gradient Fill Gray text. A WordArt Textbox will Appear, and the DRAWING TOOLS FORMAT tab will open. Hover your mouse over the border of the textbox so that the four way arrow 1-2 appears, hold your left mouse button down and drag the textbox over the helping hands tree. Click the Text Effects option in the WordArt Styles group, chose Transform, then Arch Up from the Follow Path group. Type Fundraising Tips in the WordArt text box. Click the HOME tab, then change the font to Felix Titling 48 pt. Click and hold one of the bottom corners of the text box and adjust the textbox shape so that it forms an arch over the tree.
4 With the Show/Hide button still activated, place your curser between the ending punctuation of the paragraph on the second page and the Return symbol. Click the PAGE LAYOUT tab. Select Breaks from the Page Setup group. Select Continuous from the Section Breaks options. The top of your second page should look like the image below. 8. Click the HOME tab. Select the Giving Back title under the first paragraph on the second page. Click Heading 2 in the Styles group. The heading should turn blue. 1-2 Select the seven remaining headings, and apply the Heading 2 heading style to them. The "Goals" heading should be even with the Giving Back heading. Right-click the Heading 2 Style, change the font to Felix Titling, size 12 pt., color blue, Click OK Select the Helping Hands image, Cut and paste the image to the left of the Giving Back title. Right-click the image, unlock the aspect ratio, change the height and with to 1, the text wrapping to Square, and the horizontal position to align left relative to the column. Perform the same task with the remaining images as shown in the example below. Format each of the images to have appropriate titles and descriptions. Hide the paragraph markers, and save the document, then submit a copy to your instructor.
