3 <--a b o u t--> Purpose of this Website This website was written by a year 12 student partaking in the HSC Extension 2 English course. Its expressed intention is for the purpose of providing an interactive tool that would allow other interested fellow students and people in similar ageing groups to easily understand the web. This understanding, hopefully, would be gained through different learning devices catered for differing learning styles, resulting in the reproduction of html 4.0 and other web elements. This Website was also designed with the awareness of an online audience and as such was produced not only to be viewed as a HSC major work but also as a form of content that the intended audience would find on the web including f.aq. sections and the "creator" facilities. Consequently, this work can serve not only as a teaching utility but also a working example!! How this Website is setup This website contains links on the site index page (imagemap) which can lead you around to all relevant areas of the work. There are specific technical requirements for this major work which can be viewed here. Throughout the work are also, footnotes and click here to view a complete bibliography of sources. 24 ENGLISH EXTENSION 2 Website Band E2/3 Sample 2 Title: Euphoric Intellect Inc. Through the design of this website the candidate demonstrates developed insights in terms of composing an instructional how to text aimed at a teenage audience. The candidate also demonstrates the ability to formulate and communicate concepts about web writing supported by sound independent investigation. The web design is competent and its layout, conceptual framework and content make this a substantial and sustained original major work that is generally appropriate to audience, purpose, concept and medium. While the responder experiences a few difficulties in accessing some parts of the site, it is relatively easy to navigate. The text is informative but audience engagement may have been enhanced (given that the target audience is teenage) with greater refinement and editing of the written text. The reflection statement is limited in that the candidate only exhibits some ability to articulate, monitor and reflect on processes of investigation, interpretation, analysis and composition. 4
