1 Final Assigment Markus Roesch 1. Story A maintenance staff in the mechanical engineering industry is responsible to maintain customer machines in a regular interval but also fix critical problems when they show up. To fix a problem the maintenance staff wants to know all relevant information about the machine like the model name, production date and the maintenance history to check if there was the same problem in the past. This is usually a very time consuming task. Due to the fact that a customer usually has more than one machine covered by a maintenance plan, it is recommended whenever a new request pops up that the maintenance staff checks if there is a machine with planned maintenance in the near future so that he could fix multiple machines in one go. This reduce the time on the road and saves a lot of money due to the fact that he only has to drive to the customer once. 2. Maintenance staff -check open maintenance requests -fix problems with a machine -maintain machines at customer site -search for machine information -search for scheduled maintenance tasks -I need relevant information about all customer machines -I need information about the maintenance history -fix customer problems as soon as possible -reduce travel time -maintain machine in scheduled time -make the customer happy -can t find all relevant information about the machine -has to drive to the customer multiple times in one month -very time consuming to browse through all customer machines to search for upcoming maintenance tasks -customer -maintenance staffs

3 4. Mock Up The Mock Up below shows a Master/Detail view. On the left side you can filter for open maintenance requests and on the right side you can see the request details with a icontabbar to navigate through all views. Critical errors are highlighted in red. The right side contains information about the request like a short description provided by the customer and an overview of maintenance request for other machines on the customer side in near future. If there are scheduled requests in regards to the maintenance plan, then they will show up in the table and if they are within the next 12 days they are highlighted with red color so that the maintenance staff can easily see which machine needs maintenance soon. The maintenance staff can navigate to the request by clicking on a row in the table. Mock Up 1: Info View

4 Mock Up 2 includes the history view of the machine with technical details and the service history of the machine. The purpose of this view is to check if there was the same kind of problem in the past and to see who fixed the problem. So it s easy to contact this person to ask questions about the machine. The maintenance staff can also see a little image of the machine. Mock Up 2: History View

5 Mock Up 3 shows the attachment view of the request. It s designed to get all necessary information like the maintenance plan to check what is part of the plan and the manual of the machine to look up technical details of the machine. The maintenance staff can also upload files on this view (for example hand written notes) to add them to the maintenance history of the machine. Mock Up 3: Attachment View

6 5. App Prototype Screenshot 1 shows the implemented prototype of Mock Up 1. You can see all relevant information and a table with future actions of other machines. Machine C and Machine X are highlighted in red to make clear that these machines have an open maintenance task within the next 12 days. It is possible to navigate to the maintenance task by clicking on a specific row in the table. Screenshot 1: Info View With the list on the left side of the screen you can navigate through all maintenance request and search for a specific request. There is also an icontabbar implemented on the right side to easily navigate between the views of one request.

7 Screenshot 2 shows the implementation of the history view with all technical information of the machine and the maintenance history table. You can also navigate to a specific historical request by clicking on a row. If the maintenance staff has fixed the problem he can set the request to done or release it for other maintenance staffs.
