3 1. What is OneRender? OneRender is a photorealistic rendering platform in the cloud. On one hand, it is a Physically based render engine and on the other, a sophisticated web platform to interact with 3D projects. Currently, with more than 40,000 renderings made, and a community of more than 1,500 users increasing every day. To use OneRender you don't need to install anything, you only need to log in; the render engine works with multiple GPU nodes in the cloud, which makes the process very fast. See full galery here 3

Getting the app in Onshape Take the following steps: 2.1 Open a document inside Onshape. 2.2 Click in +, and choose Get more apps. 2.3 It will display the App Store, search OneRender and subscribe. 2.4 Authorize OneRender app. Click on the image Click on the image And that s it. You didn t have to install anything because OneRender, the same as Onshape is cloud-based and you only need a browser in order to use it. 4

5 3. My documents in Onshape, My projects in OneRender Just a friendly heads-up, your documents in Onshape are pretty much the same thing as the projects in OneRender. Click on the image A document may contain several parts and assemblies. When launching OneRender app, you will be asked to select the PartStudio or Assembly you want to work with. This will be converted into a project in OneRender. Remember that choosing the finest mesh quality will allow you to get better rendering quality (and it will take more time to convert the first time). That s it, now you are ready to set your model and get some renders. 5

6 4. How-to: Rendering an Onshape document in OneRender. Follow the steps: 4.1 Open your document in Onshape. 4.2 Open the OneRender app and select the part studio or assembly you want to render. 4.3 Wait for the conversion process to end. Then, OneRender will load the (now called) project. 4.4 Now, you have your 3D model inside OneRender, notice that rendering it as it is, it will turn out into a low quality rendered image. 6

7 4. How-to: Rendering an Onshape document in OneRender. We recommend you to follow 4 basic steps in order to create a project that will produce high quality renders (you can see more here: notice that you now have access to predefined scenarios that are already configured to get these kind of renders. By using these scenarios you will only need to create cameras that will then be rendered. Follow these steps: Click Predefined Scenarios in the main (circular) menu Choose a scenario from the Panel, your project will automatically be configured Now, assign materials only to your 3D model, click the Materials button in the circular menu to open the materials gallery. 7

8 4. How-to: Rendering an Onshape document in OneRender Lastly, create as many cameras as you want. Use the camera panel for this. Notice that you can set the quality level as Low, High or Pro, remember that: the higher the quality, the longer it takes to be solved. Also, notice the Global illumination setting. If you set this ON, OneRender will compute advanced optical effects (for instance deeper light refraction and transmission) 8

10 5. Getting help in OneRender Onshape and OneRender are interested to know the concerns of our community about their experience while using our platforms. Onshape forum. At the time, Onshape has a forum to hear the concerns of users about their work and the experience they have had while using the software and other applications, also if you have experienced some sort of error or have some recommendations that can help those who have created an account, you can share it. As Onshape, OneRender takes into account the concerns of its members and has a forum in which they can share diverse topics related to rendering or 3D, among others; in the same way, you can give us your opinion about what you think of the platform and share with other users. To enter the forum click here: Direct message (to account manager). By registering OneRender, it is assigned a specialist to give technical support and attend to your concerns. 12 6. Free always, Pro memberships after Beta You can register for a free account in OneRender, this will always be free. This account gives access to OneRender tools, textures, models gallery and rendering service in the cloud, among others. If you want to extend these benefits, you can easily move to an 'Standard' account or a 'Pro account, where you can purchase more models, textures and scenarios through 'render points' in a very simple form of payment. The quality of your final renders can be obtained in 'high' or 'pro' depending on your needs. Also, the 'Pro' account allows you to create video walkthroughs easy and quickly. 12
