1 Connection Tests for the ReadyTech environment The second test you will need to perform and pass is the connection test to the ReadyTech environment. The ReadyTech environment is a cloud-based system in which the courseware has been added (software and class files) and is ready for you to use. Please note ** These tests must be performed on the machine you wish to take the course on ** To be able to access the ReadyTech environment you will need to carry out the following tests: Step 1: Does your browser support HTML 5? Why is this important? The ReadyTech environment make it much easier to connect to their environment via an HTML 5 enabled browser. You can determine if HTML 5 is fully supported in your browser by accessing this site: A high score I will indicate that your browser supports HTML 5. If your browser supports HTML 5 then please carry out steps in the section entitled HTML 5 Instructor-Led Training Portal Tests If your browser does not support HTML 5 then please go to the section entitled Hosted Training Lab Tests

2 HTML 5 Instructor-Led Training Portal Tests Step 1: In your browser type in the following: Step 2: In the Access Code box type in the following test code: And press Login. After a moment or two you should see the following screen: Step 3: Press the Click here to connect button. If the connection is successful then you should see the following screen:

3 If you have any issue connecting to the test screen then you can try other consoles to connect to by carrying out the following: A: On the ReadyTech viewer combo-box click on the down arrow. Notice that there other options available. B: Choose one of the other options and try to connect to the environment. Step 4: Logout of the test system Once you have connected you should now logout by locating the USA Test ( ) dropdown on the top right hand side and choose Logout. You will then be presented with the initial login screen. Step 5: Close your browser down!

4 Congratulations! You have completed the ReadyTech test and are ready for the exercise part of the course. Your course instructor will provide you with the course Access Code at the time of the course.

5 Hosted Training Lab Tests Step 1: In your browser type in the following: This will display the Welcome to the Instructor-Led Training Portal page Step 2 Configure your settings In the Automatically Configure Your Settings section click on the Configure Automatically link. A series of tests will then be carried out. Hopefully the results of these tests will display the following: Step 3: Download Software Depending on your browser configuration you may be asked to download either the Java plug in or an ActiveX plug in

6 A: Choose the download plug in by clicking on relevant the link. Please pay attention to any golden bars you might see which will ask you to install the plug-in into the browser. In the example below the ActiveX plug in has successfully been installed with the following system checks displayed: B: Click the Save Settings link to save your configuration options into the browser of your choice. Step 4: Enter Your Access Code You have nearly finished your ReadyTech test. You will need to enter your test access code. A: In the Access Code box type in the following test code: B: Press Submit. After a moment or two you should see the following screen:

7 Notice that the default viewer is RDP. If you have issues performing the final connection then it is useful to change the default viewer to an additional viewer option. C: Press the green Connect button This will launch a Remote Desktop Connection. You may see a dialog indicating that the identity of the remote computer can not be verified. If you see this dialog the ne press the Yes button to proceed with the connection. After a few moments the remote desktop connection will display the following screen: Do not try to log in as you can not! D: Close the remote desktop connection down This will take you back to the System Access screen. Step 4: Log out of the test system Notice that you are still logged into the test system. The code still has your test access code entered You will need to log out of the system. A: Locate and click the Logout link, as shown below.

8 Once you have logged out the screen will revert back to the Enter Your Access Code screen Step 5: Close your browser down! Congratulations! You have completed the ReadyTech test and are ready for the exercise part of the course. Your course instructor will provide you with the course Access Code at the time of the course.
