With the everydayhero plug-in in The Raiser s Edge, you can import constituent and gift information from everydayhero to update your database in The Raiser's Edge. Constituent records are updated with the information that comes from everydayhero, and new records are created if necessary. When you import gifts from everydayhero, you can map campaign, fund, appeal, and package information, as well as create static queries of the records imported. Before You Begin (Prerequisites to Installation) To run the everydayhero integration, your computer needs: The Raiser's Edge 7.93 or above. Windows user rights to install software.

4 2 CHAPTER 1 Install the everydayhero Integration Note: If Blackbaud hosts your database in The Raiser's Edge, the everydayhero integration should automatically be installed for you. If it is not installed, contact your Blackbaud representative. From a Raiser's Edge client machine: 1. Log completely out of The Raiser's Edge. 2. Locate and double-click the everydayhero EdhIntegrationSetup.msi file. The Welcome screen appears for the Raiser's Edge and everydayhero Integration Setup Wizard. Note: If the installation program does not start, you may need Windows administrator rights to install software on your computer. Contact your IT department for help. 3. Click Next. The application installs automatically to The Raiser's Edge 7 plug-ins folder. 4. Click Finish to close the setup wizard. Access the everydayhero Integration After you install the integration files, you can access the everydayhero plug-in from The Raiser's Edge. From the navigation bar in The Raiser's Edge, click Plug-Ins. The Plug-Ins page appears. Click everydayhero Integration to access the everydayhero Integration page where you can import data files into The Raiser's Edge. Configure The Raiser's Edge for everydayhero Integration Before you begin to share information between everydayhero and your database in The Raiser's Edge, review the default options for handling imported information to ensure those settings align with your business processes. For example, from the everydayhero Integration Settings screen, you can select default sets to use for new individuals and gifts added through everydayhero, select whether Heroes should be marked as canvassers in The Raiser's Edge, and you can set criteria for matching constituents from everydayhero with constituents that already exist in The Raiser's Edge. On this screen, you must also establish a connection between The Raiser's Edge and everydayhero in order to retrieve the files to import. } Configure everydayhero Integration Settings 1. From The Raiser's Edge home page, click Plug-Ins. The Plug-Ins page appears. 2. On the Plug-Ins page, click everydayhero Integration. The everydayhero Integration page appears.

6 4 CHAPTER 1 5. Under Constituent matching, select the fields to match everydayhero records to existing constituents in The Raiser's Edge. You can also select to create a new record in The Raiser's Edge if the constituent downloaded from everydayhero has no exact matches. When constituents from everydayhero are downloaded, The Raiser's Edge uses this criteria to identify matches before a new constituent record is created. If a match is found, the program assigns the incoming donations to the existing constituent. If the incoming constituent matches but has new information, such as a new address, address, or phone number, The Raiser's Edge adds that information to the existing constituent record. 6. Under Defaults for new addresses, select the default address, phone, and types to apply to all new addresses and phone numbers downloaded from everydayhero into The Raiser's Edge. 7. Click Queries. 8. To create queries that include the constituents and gifts imported from everydayhero, select the checkboxes under Create static queries during import for. 9. Click Heroes.

7 THE RAISER'S EDGE AN D EV ERYDAYHERO IN TEGRATION Select an existing default set of information or create a new set to apply to constituent records created from Heroes when information is downloaded from everydayhero into The Raiser's Edge. You can choose whether to mark Heroes as Canvasser/Solicitor. If you select this option, the Is canvasser/solicitor checkbox on the constituent record is automatically selected whent he record is created. Tip: You can apply the same defaults as those used for constituents entered directly into The Raiser's Edge or you can create a different set for constituents added online. If a field in the default set is also included in the import file, the value from the import file is used. 11. Click Donors.

8 6 CHAPTER Constituent records are created for all everydayhero donors who donate to support a Hero. You can apply a default set of information to new individuals, organisations, and relationships created when gifts are imported into The Raiser's Edge. If the donor is an individual, the Individuals default set is used for the new individual record. If the donor is also part of an organisation, the Organisations default set is used to create an organisation record and then the program applies the Relationships default set to define the relationship between the individual and organisation. 13. Select the solicit code that should be added to the donor's constituent record when they select that they do not want to receive further communication when they make their donation through everydayhero. 14. Click Donations.

9 THE RAISER'S EDGE AN D EV ERYDAYHERO IN TEGRATION To import gifts, you must select a default set that includes a fund. 16. Under Mapping, select whether to map campaigns, funds, appeals, and packages to the Campaign and Finance Codes selected when gift was made in everydayhero. Note: When a donation is made in everydayhero, the Campaign, Finance Code A, Finance Code B, and Finance Code C fields appear on the donation form. If the constituent enters a campaign, fund, appeal, or package in any of those fields, you can use the corresponding fields on the everydayhero Integration page to determine where that information will appear on the gift record in The Raiser's Edge. For example, if you determine that any information entered in the Campaign field of a donation form in everydayhero should appear as a fund in The Raiser's Edge, select Fund in the Campaign field. 17. Click Save. You return to the everydayhero Integration page. Import Data from everydayhero into The Raiser's Edge From The everydayhero Integration page in The Raiser's Edge, you can import constituent and gift information from everydayhero. When you import information from everydayhero into The Raiser's Edge, you import a Comma Separated Value (CSV) file that contains gift and constituent information. Records in The Raiser's Edge are updated with that information or new records are created if necessary.

10 8 CHAPTER 1 } Import Data from everydayhero into The Raiser's Edge 1. From the Reporting page in everydayhero, run the Raiser's Edge Report and download the.csv file to your workstation. 2. From the navigation bar in The Raiser's Edge, click Plug-ins. The Plug-Ins page appears. 3. Click everydayhero Integration. The everydayhero Integration page appears. 4. Click Import. The everydayhero Integration Import page appears. 5. Click Add File and browse to the.csv file downloaded from everydayhero. The report file appears in the list under Files ready for import. 6. To import the everydayhero data, click Import. If you selected to create a static query of your constituents or gifts on the everydayhero Integration Settings screen, the Save Static Query screen appears. Configure your query and click Save. The import process begins. When complete, a status page appears. This page includes details about the import including the total number of records processed and the number of constituents and gifts added.

For more information about exceptions, see Handle Import Exceptions on page 9. Summary information about the import is saved to a text file you can use as a record of the process. The file names for summary and exception files are the import's file name appended with "_summary" or "_ exception." If you have The Raiser's Edge installed on-site, you can access saved summary and exception files from the everydayhero Integration Import page. You can click Hisotry to view the summary and exception files, or click Edit in the corresponding file row. 7. Click OK. You return to the everydayhero Integration page. Handle Import Exceptions If errors occur during the import process, the status page includes the number of exceptions and the file name for the generated exception file. The exception file is a comma separated value (CSV) file with the same column headers as the import file, with the addition of the Exception column. The Exception column indicates the reason for the exception, such as a missing required field or invalid code table entry. To address exceptions, open the CSV file in Microsoft Excel. Correct each exception and save the file. From the everydayhero Integration Import page, click Import to reimport the updated file. Attributes Added in The Raiser's Edge Attributes are added automatically to gifts and constituents imported from everydayhero.
