He has worked with a wide variety of tools and programming languages, including both Microsoft.NET and open source (LAMP) technology stacks, and more recently has been focusing on Java and Android development for mobile devices. Charles currently works as a Senior Software Developer for Drexel University. Course Description Learn the basic building blocks of HTML and CSS as you explore the creative possibilities for interactive design on the web. You will build upon this foundation to create a fully functional multi page website. Topics include information architecture, file compression, importing/exporting, linking and more. Course Overview This course presents a comprehensive overview of the basics of HTML and CSS. Topics covered will include markup basics, HTML document structure, all major tags including lists, tables and forms, as well styling markup with Cascading Style Sheets. Students will make use of Adobe Dreamweaver as their primary HTML editor; however, the focus of the course is on learning to code HTML and CSS directly. 2 Course Expectations Students who complete this course will have sufficient knowledge and mastery of basic web technologies, and HTML and CSS in particular, to be able to create their own standards compliant web pages or edit and update existing web pages. Students are required to complete a series of homework assignments and take home quizzes. Students are expected to contribute to class discussions and to be a reflective student through accepting and giving constructive feedback to yourself, your peers, and your instructor. Prerequisites Classes or Knowledge Required for this Course CE 2421 Adobe Photoshop for Web, familiarity with Adobe Dreamweaver and MAC OSX. ISBN 10: ISBN 13: Additional Course Materials Supplies Students are encouraged to purchase a USB drive with a minimum memory capacity of 2GB and come prepared with it to each class session. Attendance Attendance is mandatory and essential to your performance. The information needed to complete assignments properly will be given in class. As a student in this course, it is your responsibility to make certain you obtain information covered should you miss a class session.
