4 First-time use Right from the first start of the application, a new database is automatically created in your user profile. Thereafter you can rename it and create as many database as you want. Preferences Settings This section allows you to configure various display options of the software. Calculating task durations: If you select 'Auto Increments' for a task, the time will be counted according to this setting. Only when the application is active, or 24/24, even when the computer is turned off. Printing Setting up the printing header of your choice. You can also replace the logo with another one. To do this, simply drag a new image on the current logo. The "Preview" allows you to view your changes in real time. Database The database view provides information about the size of the database as well as its content. If you delete or modify items, the database will not necessarily be updated accordingly. 5 Alinof ToDoList A task management tool full in color... simple, easy to use, beautiful and powerful, that s Alinof ToDoList How it works The use of Alinof ToDoList is very simple. You can create multiple databases and in each of them as many projects as you want. Each project can also contain an unlimited number of tasks. Simply indicate in each task the information you need. For each task you can specify a title, the priority, the estimated duration of the task, the real time you spend on it, the percentage already achieved, a date by which the task should be completed and of course some notes. 6 1 The Toolbar The Options button lets you create, select and rename databases. All new databases are automatically created in your user profile, use Show in Finder from the Menu to see the exact location. If you want to delete a database, simply delete it from the Finder. Just be sure to leave Alinof ToDoList before deleting an open database! This time button show you an overview of the active task and the next 5 upcoming tasks. The tasks displayed are sorted by end date, priority, and creation date, only the ongoing tasks are displayed. This choice is also applied when printing. These two buttons allows you to change the presentation of the task list. You can choose from a detailed list or a simplified list. This choice is also applied when printing. Use these buttons to add, edit or delete tasks. This feature allows you to print a list of all tasks currently displayed. If you select a specific project or do a search, only the tasks listed will be printed. By clicking on 'all projects', all tasks are displayed in order of priority and grouped by project. Use the right-click on a task to print only the selected task with the details of it. View all Tasks This menu allows you to select the tasks that will be displayed. You can select one of the following three options: Search To search a task simply enter a few letters of the title, notes, or percentage you want to find. 7 2 The list of projects In this list you will find all your projects. Each project allows you to group several tasks. Using the right click you can change the color theme for each project in order to better differentiate them. Contextual menu A right click on a project gives you the following functions: You can also mark a project as suspended or completed to better regroup it.!! 8 3 The Task selection Using this list you can filter your tasks by due date to display only the tasks to be done to a particular date. You can create your own selection of tasks as needed. TIP: Double-click a position in the list will automatically removes the active Project selection. 4 The Footnotes The button at the bottom of the window allow you to add either a new project or a new task selection. 9 5 The list of tasks This list shows all tasks from the selected project. Use the column headers to sort the list according to your wishes. Double click on a task for editing. List options These buttons are displayed when you move the mouse on the right of the title over an unfinished task to enable / disable it. The active task is indicated by the The note symbol indicates precisely that notes have been entered for this task. Move the mouse over this icon to display a quick view of the note. The detailed list also indicates the due date with the number of days remaining until that date. Contextual menu A right click on a task gives you the following functions: The menu «To due date» automatically displays all the dates of all currently displayed tasks. 10 Add / Edit a task Here is the most important part that allow you to add and modify tasks. Many functions and options are available, but only the Title is required to save a new task. What data to enter? - Select the project involved for this task allows you to quickly create a new project - The title describing your task - The priority between none, low, medium or high - The estimated time needed to accomplish the task (in minutes, hours or days) - The real time devoted to the task (in minutes, hours or days) You can also select with auto increment, In this case, the app will count the time for you - The percentage already done, scroll the mouse on the bar or click the '0%' and select a value from the menu - The due date, click the '-' to display the date picker - Some notes Task completed Once the task is complete you can indicate it using this switch, this is similar to set the percentage done to 100%. 11 Delete You can delete an individual task, several selected tasks or an entire project. Use the function 'Delete' to permanently delete a task, you can also use the file menu or the context menu. IMPORTANT: If you delete a project, all tasks included in this project will also be deleted! Backup The storage of your files is an important matter. You can make backup copies of your database with the Backup function in the File menu. This function creates a copy of the database at the selected location. Do not forget to regularly make backup copies of your files. Restore The Restore function allows you to recover the complete database previously saved with the Backup function. To recover the saved database select Restore... from the File menu and select the database to restore. The current database will be replaced by the one you restore. 12 Synchronization Synchronization allows you to always keep your data updated on multiple systems, it is made between the local database (used by Alinof ToDoList) and a database created using the "Backup" function. The software automatically determines the direction of synchronization, you can change this direction if needed by simply clicking on the arrow (green or red).
