1-2 MotionManager Operating Guide ECODR3-CRP-02VRS ECODR3-CRP-05VRS Note: In the directory Other Database on the installation CD, additional files are available. After copying this data into the MotionManager application directory, the following control is also supported: CLM1.4-LMS-01VRS Run Installation Select RUN in the Windows 95 / 98 / NT / 2000 Start Menu. Enter the program name [Drive]:\Disk1\setup.exe to run the installation. The MotionManager program can be loaded on any desired drive. The 'Program entry is created during installation. Uninstall MotionManager supports the existing Windows uninstall mechanisms. You must uninstall an old version of MotionManager before installing a new one. Installation Problems Several files are written to the Windows system directory during installation. There are multiple versions of the H5krnl32.dll file. Caution: MotionManager operates only with version H5krnl32.dll 946KB :39 When MotionManager is started up, the correctness of the file version is checked! This file supports the MotionManager Editor and the saving of programs created with MotionManager. Programs created with MotionManager and another file, e.g. the H5krnl32.dll 999KB file, cannot be loaded using MotionManager and the H5krnl32.dll 946KB file.

Operating Guide MotionManager 1-3 Note: If, for example the file H5krnl32.dll 999KB is present in the Windows system directory, it can be replaced by the file H5krnl32.dll946KB found on the installation CD in the Redist directory. This has no known effects on other programs installed on the PC. Error correction from the previous version, 04v04 For NC commands, in which a constant or variable without a preceding operational sign is permitted as an input, an error message occurs for the variable. Corrected! Example: WAI V600 Note: This error occurs only in MotionManager Version 04v04

Operating Guide Start Screen Start Screen 2.1 Overview This screen is based on a Windows screen. Start Screen The start screen appears after you initiate the program by calling MotionManager.exe. Startbild1_En.bmp Fig. 2-1: Start Screen After startup, the appearance of MotionManager is determined by the mode last set while it was running. After the initial startup (after installation), MotionManager runs in "offline" mode. Alternatively, "online" mode is available after opening MotionManager. In addition to the start screen, the configuration window is opened in this mode immediately after startup. The system checks if a control is connected to one of the RS232 interfaces on the PC. This operation may take some time. If a control is detected, the search operation is cancelled and the hardware and firmware versions of the connected control are displayed in the configuration window. Additional information can be found in this chapter. You can cancel the search operation by pressing ESC. If this is done, the screen displays "Offline" operation. If no connected control is found, the following messages may appear: - "Interface Error COM1!" Cause:

2-2 Start Screen Operating Guide When MotionManager is started, the system checks whether one of the COM1 - COM4 interfaces is present on the PC. If a COM interface is found, the system checks if this interface is already being used by other devices, e.g. a connected mouse. If this is the case, the message listed above is displayed. This message must be confirmed by clicking "OK." If a COM interface is found and it is not being used by other devices, the following message is displayed: - "No control was found! You can close MotionManager or work offline!" Format Rules The syntax check and the adjustment of data for transmission to the control are performed using format rules. These rules are summarized in database files with the extension "*.mdb." They are installed in the application directory during installation and must only be deleted in exceptional cases, as listed below. Multiple files exist for each control supported by MotionManager. The following section lists which databases are required for each control. CLM1.3-LA1-03(04) (For setting parameters: 2 decimal places) CLM1.3-LA1-03_2NK.mdb Format rule for NC instructions PA_CLM1.3-LA1-03_2NK.mdb Format rule for parameters CLM1.3-LA1-03(04) (For setting parameters: 3 decimal places) CLM1.3-LA1-03_3NK.mdb Format rule for NC instructions PA_CLM1.3-LA1-03_3NK.mdb Format rule for parameters CLM1.4-LA1-01 (for setting parameters: 2 decimal places) CLM1.4-LA1-01_2NK.mdb Format rule for NC instructions PA_CLM1.4-LA1-01_2NK.mdb Format rule for parameters CLM1.4-LA1-01 (for setting parameters: 3 decimal places) CLM1.4-LA1-01_3NK.mdb Format rule for NC instructions PA_CLM1.4-LA1-01_3NK.mdb Format rule for parameters CLM1.4-LM1-01 (for setting parameters: 2 decimal places) CLM1.4-LM1-01_2NK.mdb Format rules for NC instructions PA_CLM1.4-LM1-01_2NK.mdb Format rules for parameters CLM1.4-LM1-01 (for setting parameters: 3 decimal places) CLM1.4-LM1-01_3NK.mdb Format rules for NC instructions PA_CLM1.4-LM1-01_3NK.mdb Format rules for parameters Note: For firmware versions CLM1.3-LA1-03(04) CLM1.4-LA1-VRS and

This information is not valid for the following controls: ECODR3-ELC... ECODR3-FLP... ECODR3-CRP... If the files listed above are missing, MotionManager detects this after startup. During online operation immediately after the control is detected, the missing file is generated and the format rules are read from the control and written to the new file or the database. This operation takes some time. However, you should not interrupt it. If problems still arise, observe the following Note: Note: The files are all located in the "Datenbanken" directory on the installation CD. These files can be used as necessary. For this reason, they are copied into the installation directory. The write protection on the file must be removed! Note: A language change after MotionManager starts up can cause reloading of the format rules and especially the text strings. This is the case when the text for the particular language is missing from the database.

These data can be transferred into or from other programs using the clipboard. Insert Using the Program Editor, you can copy data from the clipboard into your program starting at the current cursor position. Delete Using the Program Editor, you can delete marked program instructions from the user program. Edit - Find Using the Program Editor, you can call the "Find" dialog box to search for text within the user program.

Operating Guide Editor 3-9 Edit - View Program with Instruction Numbers This function is active only when a successful program compilation has occurred. You can then display and print out your program with the program instruction numbers. If the program was sent to the control, the view (printout) of the program, including the instruction numbers, corresponds to the control's program content. Edit - Send Parameters Fig. 3-10: Program with Instruction Numbers Satznummer_En.bmp This function is active only in online mode and the Parameter Editor has been called. The parameters can be sent to the control. The control should be in Parameter Mode. According to the selection, the parameter blocks can be transmitted individually. Display of the blocks is adjusted to the connected or selected controls. Parameter blocks that are not available for the control are not displayed or are not active. The current selection is saved to the MotionManager.INI file, and is again available for the next transmission.

3-10 Editor Operating Guide The following is valid for the ELC family: Fig. 3-11: Transmit Parameters (ELC, FLP, CRP) ParameterSendenELC_En.bmp The following is valid for the CLM family: Fig. 3-12: Transmit Parameters (CLM) ParameterSendenCLM_En.bmp According to the selection, the parameters can be transmitted. Parameters that are not writable or transmission errors are displayed.

Operating Guide Editor 3-11 Edit Individual Parameters You can select this menu item for a different form of parameter entry. See Parameter Editor Debug See Chapter 2.5

3-12 Editor Operating Guide 3.2 Program Editor Entry of Commands, Data and Comments The main feature of this Editor is the user-defined entry of program instructions. You are not bound to any entry screens during the entry process. Nevertheless, you must consider the basic structure (syntax) of each command and its command data. You can enter blank lines or tabs for easier viewing. This does not affect the program. Command Each time a key is pressed, the Editor checks whether the entered line contains a command. If a command is found, a short description of the command parameters is displayed in the status bar. When you leave the line, the command is displayed in blue. Individual command data must be separated from one another by at least one space. Comments Comments are separated from other entry data by an apostrophe (') and extend to the end of the line. When you leave the line, the comment is displayed in green. Line Syntax Check Abb. 3-13:Line Syntax Check After exiting a line, a syntax check of that line occurs. Zeilensyntax_En.bmp

Operating Guide Editor 3-13 When an error is detected, an error message is issued and the corresponding location within the line is marked in red. Entry Help In the Program Editor, you can click the "Entry Help" button. After you click this button, an entry help window is displayed. Entry Help.bmp Abb. 3-14:Entry Help The changed NC-Command content can be copy directly in the NC- Editor.

3-14 Editor Operating Guide Displaying the Command List This list depends on the control selected. In the Program Editor, you can click the "Command List" button. After you click this button, a list of the programmable commands with short descriptions is displayed. If you move the cursor to a command, you can copy this command into your program (document) by pressing the RETURN key. The current cursor position within the program determines the point at which this command is inserted. You can remove the command list by pressing the ESC key. Program Instruction Numbers and Jump Labels Abb. 3-15:Programm Editor Editor5_En.bmp

Operating Guide Editor 3-15 Programs are written without instruction numbers. Branches within commands to other instructions are implemented by using jump labels. POA 'Satz Vorschub Achse 1 WAI 0.5 POA JMP Ausgang 'Der Übersicht wegen wurden 'zwei Leerzeilen eingefügt! NOP NOP Ausgang AEA Q 'Ausgang setzen AEA M 'Merker zurücksetzen Instruction Number Allocation (ORG Allocation) If parts of the program (task, subprogram, etc.) begin at permanently defined instructions, the beginning can be established with an instruction number allocation (#). Numbers must be allocated in ascending order. The instruction number allocation can be used only in conjunction with a jump label in the following line. Note: In older MotionManager versions (below 4.0), a jump label was still required after an ORG allocation! The compiler checks the ascending sequence and the number of instructions between the insruction number allocations and reports any possible errors. POA 'Satzvorschub Achse 1 WAI 0.5 POA JMP Ausgang 'Der Übersicht wegen wurden 'zwei Leerzeilen eingefügt! NOP NOP #300 Ausgang AEA Q 'Ausgang setzen AEA M 'Merker zurücksetzen If an instruction number can be locked in position without a jump label (if an instruction is written to via the RS interface), this can be done using 0100 POI or N100 POI JMP 100 or JMP N100

3-16 Editor Operating Guide Labels The command data in the NC program can be replaced with labels. Numerical values are assigned to the labels by means of the label table. The label table can be edited using the Label Editor. The Compiler Abb. 3-16:Compiler Kompiler_En.bmp You have written a program. In order to check the contents of your program, you can call the "Compiler" menu item in the "Edit" menu. A dialog box is displayed, which offers the following options: Selection: - NC Program - Logic Task Options - Compile - Compile and Send If you select "Compile," the syntax of the program is checked. If errors are found, the compiler indicates this by displaying in red the message 'Errors occurred during compiling.' If you select "Compile and Send," the program is compiled and sent to the control without errors. If an error occurs, the program is not sent to the control. The "Compile and Send" menu item only functions in online mode. Note: For transmission errors, see Functional Description for FLP/CLM.

Operating Guide Editor 3-17 Error Handling The following error messages are generated during compiler operations: Invalid command Incorrect instruction number Incorrect number of command parameters Data error: Maximum value Data error: Minimum value Data error: Byte field Data error: Minimum value in byte field Data error: Maximum value in byte field Label not found in label table Jump label used more than once Jump label not found Syntax error: ORG Allocation (#) Data error: Variable number Data error: Operational sign Unknown error Once the compiler operation is complete, you can close the window by selecting "Close." You can then display all of the errors in sequence by selecting "Edit / Display and remove errors" or by pressing F4 / F5. Program instructions with errors are marked in red and commented in the status bar! To obtain a complete overview, you can use the F6 key to display a list of all incorrect lines and the reasons for the errors. You can clear this list from the current screen by pressing ESC.

3-18 Editor Operating Guide Options: Editor Tabulator Abb. 3-17:Editir with Tabulator Bar Editor9_En.bmp Line Syntax Line Syntax is currently always active.

Operating Guide Editor The Label Editor Abb. 3-18: Label Table Editor6_En.bmp The command data in the NC program can be replaced with labels. Numerical values are assigned to these labels by means of this table. Note: The numerical values can also be entered as variables. The table has 100 rows, i.e. you can use 100 labels. However, you can adjust the table to meet your needs. You can delete or insert rows in the table. Inserting a Row: Highlight a cell and press RETURN Deleting a Line: To delete a line, click on the data set and then press the "DEL" key. Editing the Data in the Label Table: You can edit an existing set of data by positioning the cursor in the desired field of the instruction and entering the new field contents. You can reverse a change by pressing "ESC" if you have not yet left the affected field! To move or copy the contents of fields, mark the affected characters or the complete field (F2) and then press "CTRL + C." The marked data is copied to the Windows clipboard and saved there for further use. Then, you can insert the data from the clipboard into any field, by placing

3-20 Editor Operating Guide the cursor in the field and pressing "CTRL + V." Note: If you use the label table, you should be aware that the table is saved together with the program that uses the labels. The label table is valid only for the NC program with the same name and the Logic Task with the same name.

Operating Guide Editor Logic Task Editor The functionality of the Logic Task Editor corresponds to that of the NC Program Editor. However, variables and jump labels are not supported! After the compiling operation, the Logic Task program can be displayed with instruction numbers. Fig. 3-19: Logic Task with Open Command List Editor7_En.bmp Note: In order to send NOPs to the LT instruction, the control must be in Parameter Mode.

3-22 Editor Operating Guide 3.5 Parameter Editor Option 1 You can edit parameters using the Parameter Editor. According to the parameters, a description of the individual parameter data is shown in short form in the line below the Editor. Fig. 3-20: Parameter Editor Editor8_En.bmp Option 2 Using the "Individual Parameters" menu item under the "Edit" menu, you can select a different form of parameter entry. This entry option differs from the previous variation by offering comprehensive help for each entry. Each individual value in the parameter is explained. The corresponding minimum-maximum values are displayed. You can enter the value in the entry fields (white). The text is now shown in italics. The value is accepted when you press RETURN. The original text style is displayed. The changed parameter content can be sent directly to the control as an individual parameter in online operation. Using the "Previous Parameter" and "Next Parameter" buttons, you can page within the parameter list. You can also inter a parameter number directly. The "Parameters" entry field is provided for this purpose. You can navigate within the form by pressing "Up," "Down," "POS" and "END."

Operating Guide Editor 3-23 Abb. 3-21: Individual Parameters The following is valid for both entry options: You can reverse the last entry by pressing "ESC." Einzelparameter_En.bmp
