3 1. TVB Manager(JAVA) Usage 1.1 Initial Screen - Initial screen display before TVB Agent is connected. - TVBManager will automatically try to connect to TVBAgent with saved IP address

4 1.2 Connect to TVB Agent - On failure to connect to TVBAgent, TVB AGENT CONNECTOR dialog will appear. - Connect to known TVBAgent: Enter IP address of the TVB Agent on [TVB AGENT ADDRESS] field and click [CONNECT] button. If connected normally, TVB Manager(JAVA) will display corresponding parameters properly on the initial screen. - Search TVB Agent on the network: Click [SEARCH TVB AGENT] button, then Search TVB Agent will apper (refer to 1.3 SEARCH TVB AGENT) - Click [EXIT TVBManager] button to exit TVBManager program. 1.3 SEARCH TVB AGENT - TVBManager will search TVBAgent on the local network and will list up found TVB Agents. - Select one of the found TVB Agents - Configure TVBAgent If you want to configure network environment of the selected TVB Agent, Click [MODIFY TVB AGENT NETWORK CONFIGURATION] button. TVB Agent Network Configuration will appear (refer to 1.4 MODIFY TVB AGENT NETWORK CONFIGURATION) - Connect to a TVBAgent Click [CONNECT] button. If connected normally, TVB Manager(JAVA) will display corresponding parameters properly on the initial screen. - Click [CLOSE] button to close this dialog. If already connected to any TVBAgent, it will return to initial screen. If not connected to any TVBAgent, it will return to TVB AGENT CONNECTOR dialog.

5 1.4 MODIFY TVB AGENT NETWORK CONFIGURATION - [obtain an IP address automatically] TVBAgent will allocate network configuration automatically. - [use the following IP address] Enter IP address of TVB Agent or click [Find usable IP addresses on local network] button. TVBAgent will configure network address with specified IP address, subnet mask and gateway address. [Note] IP addresses of TVBManager and TVBAgent should be same subnet group. IP address and gateway address should be same subnet group. - Click [OK] button to set network configuration of TVBAgent - Click [CLOSE] button to return SEARCH TVB AGENT dialog without configuration. [Note] You should check the list of searched TVBAgent if the network configuration is done correctly.

6 1.5 Screen display after TVB Agent connected Function Description of each button (Refer above picture) 1. PLAY/STOP button - Start/stop transport stream playback. 2. Repeat mode button - Select single time playback or repeat playback. 3. Input Source selection button - Choose FILE, SMPTE-310M input or DVB-ASI input mode. 4. REFRESH - Update all parameters by getting values from TVBAgent. 5. CONFIGURATION - Set the timeout of TVBAgent signal. (default 10 seconds). TVBAgent sends a signal to TVBManager every second. If TVBManager can t receive this signal in timeout, TVBManager will decide that the connection is lost. - Set automatic refresh (default OFF). - Refer to section Transport stream record button - Enabled when input source is DVB-ASI or SMPTE-310M. Click the button to record transport stream.

7 7. Playback Rate - Bitrate of current transport stream. - Select input/output bitrate. - If check MAX flag, maximum bitrate to be precessed without null packet insertion. 8. RF Frequency - Display current RF output center frequency and allow to modify RF output frequency. Display unit can be selected. 9. IF Frequency - Select IF center frequency. Select 36MHz or 44MHz. 10. ATTEN - Select output attenuation value. Allowed range is displayed and calculated RF output level is displayed considering attenuation value. Example of display> ATTEN(<range>dBm) <ATTEN value> 11. AMPLIFIER activation 12. AGC activation. 13. C/N selection. - Selected additional noise level is displayed. Without noise addition, the noise value field is disabled. 14. Modulation mode selection - Allowed modulation mode is displayed according to given license. - On modulation mode switch, corresponding parameters for selected modulation mode is displayed. 15. FileList - Select transport stream to playback. - Display file list obtained from TVB Agent. 16. PlayList - Add a file to Playlist by double-clicking the file on the FileList. - Remove a file from PlayList by double-clicking the file on the PlayList. 17. DISK FREE - Display free disk size based on current transport stream rate. 18.DIRECTORY change. - Select directory with transport stream files. - Enter absolute transport stream path on the TVB agent. 19. Message bar - Display parameter change related message. 20. OPTION menu - It has C/N, LOOP ADAPTATION, SUB-LOOP and ERROR INSERTION sub menus. - Each submenu selection displays corresponding sub-dialogs to allow corresponding parameter selection. 21. TOOL menu - It has LICENSE, TVB AGENT CONNECTOR and UPGRADE FIRMWARE sub menus.

8 1.6 CONFIGURATION - [RESPONSE DELAYS(Sec.)] Set the timeout of TVBAgent signal. (default 10 seconds). TVBAgent sends a signal to TVBManager every second. If TVBManager can t receive this signal in timeout, TVBManager will decide that the connection is lost. - [AUTO REFRESH INTERVAL(Sec.)] Set the automatic refresh on/off and refresh period. It is not saved, so it will be always off on the start of TVBManager. 1.7 UPGRADING FIRMWARE - Click [FILE] button to select the firmware file for TVBAgent. - Click [UPGRADE] button to upgrade firmware. It will take some time. The progress bar will be displayed. - Click [CLOSE] button to return to initial screen.

9 1.8 SCHEDULE TASKS [SCHEDULED TASK] Click SCHEDULE TASKS. You can schedule a task (max. 5) to run daily, weekly or monthly at certain time. All schedules will be based on all parameters of MODULATOR PARAMTERS, RF/IF OUTPUT, LOOP and TOOL. Caution: Before using this function, PC must be powered-on and login as Administrator s account. To configure, use Windows Scheduled Tasks or enable Wakeup function at Power management of CMOS BIOS. - Add some tasks for PC wake-up and login by using Windows Scheduled Tasks - Run this TVBManager.jar - Select a PCI SLOT(or USB SOCKET) to run and configure play and modulator parameters - Open OPTION dialog and click SCHEDULED TASKS - Select SCHEDULE. - Set WAKE-UP time (00:00~23:59)and DURATION(minute)(or EXIT time(00:00~23:59)) 2. Notes on TVB Manager(JAVA) Usage - TVB Manager(JAVA) usage is almost identical with legacy Visual C++ or Visual basic version TPG590 application. - As application and agent communicate through network, the response might be slower than legacy software. - Java version : _20(If not installed, download linux version JAVA) How to verify JAVA installed : enter java version at current directory. If any version number is displayed, Java is installed on the system.
