2 Welcome Welcome With the TomTom ecoplus Update Tool you can update the software of your TomTom ecoplus using a TomTom LINK 3xx/510 and the ecoplus power adapter. Prerequisites Before you update the ecoplus make sure you have the following: TomTom LINK 300 with a serial number that starts with LA, a TomTom LINK 310 or a TomTom LINK 510. TomTom LINK 3xx/510 that is activated in TomTom WEBFLEET. TomTom LINK 3xx with the firmware version or higher. For the LINK 510 no specific firmware version is required. TomTom ecoplus power adapter. Activation code from the WEBFLEET contract confirmation. Laptop installed with the TomTom ecoplus Update Tool and a serial interface cable taken from the TomTom LINK 3xx Service Set or the TomTom LINK 510 Service Set. You can download the latest version of the TomTom ecoplus Update Tool from the Partner Portal under Software Download. 2

3 Configuring a Bluetooth connection using WEBFLEET Configuring a Bluetooth connection using WEBFLEET In this chapter you will learn how you can use WEBFLEET to establish a connection between the ecoplus and an activated LINK 3xx/510 in your vehicle/office. If you would prefer to use the Activation Tool instead of WEBFLEET, see Configuring a Bluetooth connection using the Activation Tool on page Go to and log into TomTom WEBFLEET. 2. Click Vehicles in the main menu. 3. Select your vehicle from the list. 4. Click Contract/Device in the Details Panel on the right. 5. Click Configure. 3

4 6. Select the Accessories tab. 7. Under Bluetooth configuration, check that the Connect Bluetooth accessory option is selected. 8. Under TomTom ecoplus, enter the provisional cubic capacity of a vehicle in cm Enter the Bluetooth address specified on the OBD-II connector for the ecoplus device that you would like to install in the selected vehicle. 10. Click Save. The Bluetooth address of your ecoplus device is now assigned to the LINK 3xx/510 in the selected vehicle. 11.Transfer the firmware onto the ecoplus. 5 Configuring a Bluetooth connection using the Activation Tool Configuring a Bluetooth connection using the Activation Tool In this chapter you will learn how you can use the Activation Tool to establish a connection between the ecoplus and an activated LINK 3xx/510 in your vehicle/office. If you would prefer to use TomTom WEBFLEET instead of the Activation Tool, see Configuring a Bluetooth connection using WEBFLEET on page Install the latest version of the Activation Tool on a PC running a Microsoft Windows operating system. 2. Connect your LINK 3xx/510 to the computer using the serial interface cable from the Service Set. 3. To start the Activation Tool, double click the relevant icon. 4. Select the COM-Port you have connected your LINK 3xx/510 to from the drop-down menu. Make sure that the green LED on the LINK 3xx/510 is illuminated before you continue with the next step. 5. Click OK. 6. Select the ecoplus tab. 7. Enter the Bluetooth address specified on the OBD-II connector for the ecoplus device and click Save to save the setting. The blue LED should now be illuminated on the ecoplus device. 5

6 Proceed with Installing firmware on the ecoplus on page 7. If a different ecoplus device has already been registered, you will be asked to re-enter the activation code for the TomTom LINK after saving. Proceed with the following step. 8. Enter the activation code. You can find the activation code in your WEBFLEET contract confirmation. 9. Click OK. After a few seconds, the Bluetooth address will appear in the right-hand text box and the blue LED will illuminate on the ecoplus. 10.Transfer the firmware onto the ecoplus. 7 Installing firmware on the ecoplus Installing firmware on the ecoplus In this chapter you will learn how to update the firmware of your ecoplus by using the TomTom ecoplus Update Tool via the LINK device. 1. Start the program by double clicking epupdate.exe. 2. In the main menu, go to File. 3. Click Select ecoplus binary file and select the latest firmware version. 4. In the main menu, go to File and select Load ecoplus binary file into TomTom LINK for manual start. 5. Confirm the manual update by clicking Yes. 7

8 The program starts transferring the software onto the LINK device. When the file has been successfully transferred to the LINK, the following message will appear. 6. Select Start ecoplus update manually from the File menu. 7. Click Yes to confirm. The new software is now being transferred onto the ecoplus device. 8

9 Once the software has been transferred onto the ecoplus device, the following message appear. If you want to update additional ecoplus devices via the same LINK device, do the following: 1. Amend the Bluetooth address in the LINK, see Configuring a Bluetooth connection using WEBFLEET on page 3 or Configuring a Bluetooth connection using the Activation Tool on page Proceed with step 6 above. 9
