3 Purpose This guide explains how to create a Dashboard using a Headcount Report. For detailed information please refer to the HCM Configuration guide which can be found in Sage Business Cloud People Support. Rationale Dashboards in Salesforce are a useful way of visualizing data or looking at data from different perspectives. 2
4 Step by Step Instruction This guide does not detail how to create the Headcount Report that is used to create the Dashboard, please refer to Report and Dashboards User Manual for instructions on how to do this. 1) Go to the Reports tab and select New Dashboard. 2) Make the first column wider by selecting the down arrow at the top of the column. 3) To locate the Headcount Report, select the Data Sources tab. 3
5 4) Expand the Reports folder by selecting the symbol. Then expand the folder that the Headcount Report is saved in. 5) Drag the Headcount report into the first column on the Dashboard. 6) Select the Components tab. This enables you to overlay a component onto the source data to determine how it will be displayed in the Dashboard. 4
6 7) Select Metric and drag onto the source report in the Dashboard. This will change how the data is displayed. 8) Select the icon to configure the attributes. This will open the Component Editor window. 5
7 9) Select the Component Data tab a. Set Value to Record Count b. Set Display Units to Whole Units c. Select OK 10) Select Edit Header to give the component a name. 11) Give the figure a label 6
8 12) Add a second component using the same Headcount report by selecting the report from the Source Data and dragging into the Dashboard. 13) Select Table from the Components tab and drag onto the source report in the Dashboard. This will change how the data is displayed. 7
9 14) Select the icon to configure the attributes. This will open the Component Editor window. a. In the Formatting tab, select Customize Table. 15) In Customize Table a. Set Record Count to Descending b. Check the Show Total checkbox c. Select OK 8
10 16) Select Edit Header to give the component a name. 17) Add a third component using the same Headcount report by selecting the report from the Source Data and dragging into the Dashboard. 9
11 18) Select Pie Chart from the Components tab and drag on to the source report in the Dashboard. This will change how the data is displayed. 19) Select the icon to configure the attributes. This will open the Component Editor window. a. You can amend the position of the legend by selecting Legend Position b. You can amend the order of the values by selecting Sort Rows By 10
