1 Introduction to Frog Parent/Guardian Guide October 2016

2 Frog Frog is Trinity s VLE (Virtual Learning Environment). It is used to aid students learning by providing access to lesson resources for both staff and students anytime, anywhere. As Parents/Guardians you have been given a login to view your child s work and to access key documents and information. Accessing Frog To access Frog, go to the school website ( and click on the Frog icon in the top right-hand corner. Clicking this icon will open the login screen. Enter your username and password into the box provided. Your username is your full name, e.g. joebloggs, without any spaces. Your password was given to your child. If you need a new password please contact the IT Team on itsupport@trinity.newburyacademytrust.org

3 Click on the Frog icon to logout. Shows a help menu Tabs these take you to the different tabs on Frog: Home, My Child, PSHE and Help. Home takes you back to the main dashboard Notifications you ll receive notifications when a teacher sets your child homework etc. Parent home school agreement Downloadable useful documents including the parent calendar, homework timetable and weekly bulletin. My Child s Work this shows you all your child s current homework. Links to epraise (Rewards system) and ParentPay (Payment system) Link to the school s Facebook page and the school s Twitter feed.

4 Tabs The tabs along the top of the dashboard are your way of navigating through the different pages on the system. Home This is the main homepage of the dashboard. This is where you ll see the useful documents and links to epraise & ParentPay, be able to view your child s homework and access the school s social media accounts. My Child(ren) This tab will currently show you your child s timetable. PSHE This area contains useful information for parents/guardians with regard to PSHE (Personal, Social and Health Education) and covers a range of topics. Help This area will give you links to the IT Team. You can also change your password here by using the Change my Password box.

5 My Child s Work Clicking on the My Child s Work button will open a new window displaying your child s homework. Name of Assignment Subject Child s Name This will show the name of your child whose homework you are currently viewing. To change child, click on the small blue arrow and select another child s name. Issue Date & Due Date of the homework This will show whether your child has submitted their homework. To do this they need to click the blue Submit Assignment button on their homework screen. At the moment Frog doesn t give marks. We are exploring this for the future.

6 To view more details of the assignment, click on the name of the assignment. Child s Name Child s Name This will give you a brief overview of the assignment and enable you to view any comments your child/teacher has made. To view the actual assignment, click on the blue Open Assignment button (circled above) and you will see a screen similar to below. This will show you the full details of the assignment and instructions the teacher has set. This is where any worksheets or activities will also be displayed. To close this window, click on the black X in the top right (circled above). This will take you back to the previous window (above). To close this click on the small X.

7 Frequently Asked Questions How do I access Frog? Frog can be accessed through the school website ( There is a Frog icon in the top right-hand corner of the website this will load the Frog login screen. Which internet browser should I use? It s strongly recommended that you use Google Chrome to access Frog, however Frog is designed to work on all internet browsers including Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox and Safari. Frog is also fully mobile friendly and will work on tablets and mobiles, although due to the small screen size of mobile phones, functionality may be limited. What is my username and password? Your username is your full name (first name, followed by surname) with no spaces, e.g. joebloggs. Your password will be a random mix of characters and numbers this was sent home to you via your child. If you have forgotten your password please contact the IT Support Team on itsupport@trinity.newburyacademytrust.org. How do I change my password? To change your password, login to Frog and click on the Help tab in the top right. On here is a form to fill in that allows you to change your password. How do I logout of Frog? To log out of Frog you should click on the small Frog icon in the top lefthand corner of parent dashboard and choose Log out. How do I go back to the previous screen? If you ve clicked off the main homepage by clicking on another tab or have opened a new window, pressing the back button on your browser will not work and will instead take you to the original login screen. You must use the small black X to close windows in Frog or click on the Home button to take you back to the home screen. Who do I contact if I need help?
