This platform provides capabilities to address the download, streaming, and monetization scenarios required by online video services. Media Suite also enables the management of sophisticated multi-type content bundling that is required for virtual DVDs and other rich media offerings. 3 New Features and Enhancements This section identifies new features or enhancements that have been incorporated into Media Suite since the previous release. Enhancements to Solr Index Backup Functionality US Enhancements have been made to the Solr index backup functionality. Previously, the settings were not exposed on the user interface and were only accessible via web services. Users now have the ability to set the following fields in the user interface: 1. The NFS mount point i.e. the directory path on the VMS nodes where the NFS is mounted. 2. The directory on the NFS on which Solr indices can be saved. (This was previously hard-coded as vms_solr_index_data). To enable the backup functionality, both these configuration options have to be set. As well, users can now only have one passive Solr standby node in the deployment when the backup settings have been enabled. In addition, the nodes page indicates the running active Solr master standby node. Previously, this was not visible directly on the nodes page. Fault Tolerance for Workflow Node Heartbeat Thread US The workflow node heartbeat thread has been made more tolerant to errors. The heart beat doesn t stop even if it encounters exceptions during processing. These errors are logged appropriately and the thread continues instead of erring out. Image Selector Enhancements US (MF2841) The following enhancements have been made in this release: Genre image support for image selector fallback mechanism ingest and apply (US120949) Restricted images from Gracenote (preferred images) ingest and apply (US120951) The "KD Local EPG DB Full Ingest" and "KD Local EPG DB Update Ingest"workflow definitions have been updated to support Gallery images (Restricted images and Genre images). Two new nodes (Ingest GALLERY_RESTRICTED_IMAGE_DB Feed Fragment, Ingest GALLERY_GENRE_IMAGE_DB Feed Fragment) have been pre-configured, activated and attached to the workflow. In addition, the pattern for the following "find files actions" has been updated to support Gallery files: KD [Local EPG DB] [Full] Find Feed Files KD [Local EPG DB] [Update] Find Feed Files 3

5 Note: Related action profiles are deactivated because users must manually specify dates for those patterns in the full ingest. Once the dates are provided, the action profiles can be activated. Since the profiles are already attached to workflows, users simply have to redeploy and activate the workflows. For the update workflow, users simply need to activate the node. 5
