1 RICOH Interactive Whiteboard Launcher Guidance for Admin Tool This manual describes how to use Admin Tool for RICOH Interactive Whiteboard Launcher (hereinafter, referred to as RICOH Launcher). To start Admin Tool, you need to be logged on to Windows as an administrator. What You Can Do with Admin Tool Admin Tool includes the following items: General Settings Provides a set of options to change the settings related to the behavior and display of RICOH Launcher. It also provides options for importing and exporting configuration and account information. For details, see page 2 General Settings. Application Settings Provides a set of options for registering and managing applications available for meetings. For details, see page 4 Application Settings. Check For Updates Checks for RICOH Launcher updates to be installed. For details, see page 5 Check For Updates. The following items are not available: Activation Upload Logs 1

2 Starting/Exiting Admin Tool This operation is for the administrator only Log on to Windows as an administrator. The desktop screen appears. You can switch the user account by touching, the setting icon on the launcher screen. Also, you can switch to the desktop screen using [ ] on the launcher screen, depending on the settings under Admin Tool. Touch [Ricoh] in the [Start] menu, and then touch [Ricoh Launcher Admin Tool]. Enter the user name and password of the administrator to start Admin Tool, if required. Touch the item you want to set up. Close the screen when you finish setting up. If you execute [Check for Updates], the procedure from Step 5 is not required. 666 Touch [ ] in the top right of the screen to exit Admin Tool. General Settings Change the settings related to the behavior and display of RICOH Launcher, as appropriate. In the General Setting screen under Admin Tool, you can change the following settings: Room Name Specify the name of the room used for meeting. Search Enabled Set whether to display the search box to search on the Internet. Soft Keyboard Enabled Controls whether to display the soft keyboard. If Search Enabled is enabled, this setting is automatically set to Enabled. Windows Auto Signin Enabled Controls whether to automatically sign into Windows when Interactive Whiteboard starts up. If this setting is enabled, register your user name and password for signing in. 2

3 Meeting Timer Enabled Controls whether to display the meeting timer in the menu. Short Menu Enabled Controls whether to display the short menu. When using RICOH Interactive Whiteboard Lt for Windows (IWB), set Short Menu Enabled to Disabled. Sign Out On Meeting Finish Set whether to sign out automatically from Windows when a meeting is finished. Screen Mode Selection Enabled Set whether to display [Screen Mode] so users can display split screens. Auto Update Enabled Set whether to check if there are update files on the server at the start or end of meetings. Cleanup Enabled Set whether to delete files saved to local folders during a meeting, or undo changes made to Windows during a meeting. Even if this setting is enabled, files may not be deleted, depending on the save destination or extension of the file. End Launcher Enabled Set the behavior for the [ ] button on the launcher screen. When this setting is disabled, Windows can be shut down from [ ] on the launcher screen. When this setting is enabled, you can choose to shut down Windows when you press [ ] on the launcher screen, or close the launcher screen to go to the desktop screen.. Export Saves the current set of Admin Tool setting values in Zip-compressed format. Import Imports and applies a saved set of Admin Tool setting values. Restore Resets all settings to their initial values. 3

4 Application Settings In Application Setting, you can register and manage applications available for meetings. Adding applications displayed on the launcher screen Touch. 333 Enter the name that is displayed in Launcher in the [Application Name] box. Under Application File, touch [Select File]. 444 Select the execute file or shortcut file for the application, and then touch [Open]. If you specify the store application of Windows directly, enter the URI or Application User Model ID in the [Store App Launcher] box Select the [Automatically Launch The Application Once a Meeting is Started] check box if you want to start the application automatically when a meeting begins. Enter the Launch Parameters as appropriate. 777 Under Icon File, touch [Select File]. 888 Select the icon file of the application and touch [Open]. 999 Touch [OK]. Changing the order of icons Touch an icon that you want to move, and then press and hold it until its background color changes. Drag the icon to where you want to place it on the screen, and then lift your finger. Deleting an icon Touch the icon of the application that you want to delete. Touch [Remove]. 4

5 Check For Updates If a required update is available, download and install the update file. Confirm the displayed message and follow the instructions in the message to update the service. To use the update function, you need to be in an environment that has access to a server in the external network. For details about operating environment requirements, such as the server address and usable ports, refer to the security whitepaper. If you cannot connect to the server in an external network, even though you referred to the security whitepaper, contact your network administrator. Troubleshooting Problem The message Failed to launch the application. Make sure that the application is installed appears. The message Cannot connect to the server. No internet connection or response from server. appears. The message Abort updating... No available update for the program. appears. The message Version information on server is invalid. appears. Cannot log on to Windows automatically. Causes and solutions Registered EXE or LNK file cannot be found. Check application settings using Admin Tool. Cannot connect to the server. Close Admin Tool and then open it again. No updates are available. No operation is needed. Invalid version information retrieved from the server. Close Admin Tool and then open it again. Antivirus software might block access to the registry. Disable antivirus or put Admin Tool in the antivirus exclusion list.
