1 7XI Console Set-Up Warehouse Set-Up 1. Using the keypad, type in ENTER 4005 ENTER. A message will pop up asking if you would like to set to default settings. Select Yes. Unit will reboot and take you to the Setup Wizard. 1 P age

2 2. On the first page of the Setup Wizard, select the Model Type then click the arrow on the bottom right corner of the screen labeled Language Setup. 3. On the second page of the Setup Wizard, select the default Language then click the arrow on the bottom right corner of the screen labeled Date/Time Setup. 2 P age

3 4. On the third page of the Setup Wizard, enter the Date, Time and Time Zone then click the arrow on the bottom right corner of the screen labeled Asset Management Setup. 5. On the fourth page of the Setup Wizard, enter the Club ID and make sure Show Custom Logo and Show Custom Background are checked False. Next click the arrow on the bottom right corner of the screen labeled Serial Number Setup. 3 P age

4 6. On the fifth page of the Setup Wizard, enter the last 9 numbers of the Console and Frame Serial Numbers in the space provided. To type in the white box provided, tap on the white box and a keyboard will display. Enter the Console and Frame serial numbers including any numbers that come before the last 9 letters. Once you have verified they are accurate, press Exit on the bottom right corner and the console will recycle to the home screen. 8. To enter Service Mode press ENTER 3001 ENTER on the key pad. Go to the Update tab on the left hand side of the screen. Set Check For Updates At Boot to TRUE. Next check the box labeled Enabled under the Automatic Update section, and set a time for the unit to look for updates. Press SAVE. Note: The time is military time. Set Automatic Updates to 2300 hours. 4 P age

5 9. Stay in the Service Mode and go to the General tab. Using the arrow in the bottom right of the screen, scroll to the Social Network Post page. Tap your finger on the screen in the white message box and a keyboard will display. At the end of the existing message, type at Club Name example being at Gold s Gym. Click off the keyboard anywhere on the screen and the keyboard will disappear. 10. Next go to the Error tab. If the console has any errors, press Clear in the upper right corner of the screen. 5 P age

6 11. Also in the Service Mode, find the Calibration tab. Press Calibrate and the unit will go to the max incline and then to its minimum incline. Once the unit passes calibration, press the HOME ICON. Note: this tab will only be visible for Treadmills and Ascents. 12. Once unit passed Calibration, turn unit off for shipping or recycle power if in the club. 6 P age

7 Onsite Set-Up 1. Enter the Service Mode by pressing ENTER 3001 ENTER on the keypad. Go to the General tab on the left of the screen. Verify the Console and Frame Serial Numbers have been entered. If they are not, you can enter them by pressing Edit. After you have added the serial number numbers and saved it, if you need to enter a letter into the serial number (ex. FTM501 E, use the Channel Up or Down buttons on the keypad until the number displays while in the screen you see below. Then hit the arrow key in the bottom right hand corner to continue to the next screen. 2. Next select the Asset Management tab on the left side of the screen and verify the Club ID is entered. Show Custom Logo and Show Custom Background should be checked False. 7 P age

8 3. Go to the Network Tab on the left side of the screen. In the Network tab there will be two screens, one for Wireless and one for Wired labeled at the top of the screen. Navigate to these screens by using the left and right arrows at the bottom of the screen. To find a network to connect to, select Site Survey or type npwireless in the SSID space. Press Save/Connect. 9 4. Next select the Netpulse Tap by pressing the arrow button on the lower right hand side. In the Netpulse tab, press Test Network if the Gateway is connected. Green words will come up saying all networks test passed if so press the Install button. This test may take a few minutes. If red words appear saying network failed check Gateway connection and retest. If the install takes ok, you will see the message Installation was successful. Write down the following items on the document called AM Installer Checklist: a. Machine ID # (see blue arrow below). b. IP Address (see orange arrows below) c. MAC Address (see orange arrows below) d. Console and Frame Serial Numbers (found in the General Tab) AM Installer Checklist - This document will need to be turned in to CTS upon completing the install of all the units. Note: If network test passes and installed ok, go to Step 6. 9 P age

10 5. If you CAN-NOT CONNECT to the internet, from the HOME SCREEN press ENTER 3004 ENTER. When the Update Manager screen loads, press Settings to get to the screen shown below. From here you will want to make sure HTTP is selected in the drop down menu. You DO NOT want to use USB. After HTTP has been selected, press Set Wireless Defaults. 6. Select the Weather tab on the left side of the screen, and set the location by using the ZOOM IN and OUT button in the top right corner of the screen; then tap on the screen to move the location marker to the right city. Select True for Enable Alerts. Note: Internet connection is needed for this to work. 10 P age

11 7. Go to the TV tab on the left side of the screen, using the drop down menu pick the Source to scan (see image below) and press Start Scan There are four options: (ATSC) = over the air signal,(qam) = digital signal, (Analog) = analog signal and (DVBT) = is for international use. Note: This scan may take several minutes to complete. 8. Check for available software updates. To do this press ENTER 3005 ENTER on the keypad. The screen may flash as it checks for these updates and will install any available in the background. 9. Recycle the power from the frame. 10. Repeat Onsite Set-up Steps 1-9 for each 7xi console. **Remember to record all the Serial Numbers, IP Addresses, MAC Addresses and Machine ID s on the AM Installer Checklist and turn in with your completed paperwork or a copy to Matrix Tech Support at service@johnsonfit.com. 11 P age
