1 GCSS-Army Transaction Guide Business Purpose Use this simulation to learn how to log onto GCSS-Army, set up work sessions, set a start transaction, and then log off. Business Trigger You are ready to start your work day in the Property Book office. Log onto GCSS-Army and get set up to perform your work activities. Navigating to the Transaction Access GCSS-Army from the shortcut established on your desktop by the IT administrator when GCSS-Army was loaded on your machine. Alternately, you can access the portal directly by opening a browser session and typing in the appropriate address: (Link only works on the.mil network)

3 Page: 3 of 21 Desktop Start the logon process from your computer desktop. A shortcut should have been created by the IT Tech team when your computer was loaded with GCSS-Army. If the shortcut does not exist, open your web browser and enter this URL address: (Link only works on the.mil network) 1. Double-click the GCSS-Army Portal shortcut on your desktop.

4 Page: 4 of 21 GCSS-Army Log-In Portal - Windows Internet Explorer Before initial logon can commence, you are required to agree to formal disclaimers, and then authenticate using your CAC certificate and PIN. 2. Click the I Accept button.

7 Page: 7 of 21 GCSS-Army Portal (Easy Access Tab) (1) You are now logged onto the GCSS-Army portal. The portal contains links relating to your job role. GCSS-Army allows you to open as many sessions as you need. Each session opens in its own Internet Explorer (IE) tab. Enhance the efficiency of your work flow from here by using IE tabs to open key sessions ahead of time. You can then switch quickly between these sessions based on the tasks you need to perform. This efficiency is improved further if you set the system's first screen, or "start transaction", to be your most frequently used screen, as shown later. 7. Click the WIN GUI link.

8 Page: 8 of 21 SAP Easy Access Screen (2) The WIN GUI - SAP Easy Access screen provides you with immediate access to all GCSS-Army non-ait transactions. This is the first of three sessions that you will establish as tabs at the top of your IE Explorer window. Navigate to the PBO Menu (transaction code ZPBMENU), a transaction launch screen developed specifically for Property Book users. 8. Click the Command field. 9. Type your entry in the Command field (for example, ZPBMENU). 10. Click the Enter button.

9 Page: 9 of 21 PBO Menu (1) The PBO Menu screen provides quick access to your key processes. It is recommended that you set this screen as your start transaction so that the system displays this screen instead of the SAP Easy Access screen each time you on log on. You set a start transaction from the SAP Easy Access screen. 11. Click the Back button.

10 Page: 10 of 21 SAP Easy Access Screen (3) You only need to set a start transaction once and doing so is optional. A preset start transaction has the following benefits: It is user-specific, not machine-specific. This means that others using the same computer can each set their own. It persists after you log off, eliminating the need to reset it every day. It can be easily changed to another transaction or reset to the SAP Easy Access screen, as described later. You can return to the SAP Easy Access screen by clicking the Back button. 12. Click the Extras menu bar item. 13. Click the Set start transaction menu item.

11 Set start transaction (Dialog Box) Type your entry in the Transaction Code field (for example, ZPBMENU). Click the Continue button. Page: 11 of 21

12 Page: 12 of 21 SAP Easy Access Screen (4) The status bar displays the message Transaction ZPBMENU set as start transaction. Note: To change your start transaction, repeat the previous four steps, enter a different transaction code in the Transaction Code field, and press Enter. To reset it, clear the field completely and press Enter. Next, create another session tab, which will also test your new start transaction setting. 16. Click the Portal Home - SAP NetWeaver tab.

14 Page: 14 of 21 PBO Menu (2) The new session opens in a new IE tab and navigates directly to your start transaction, PBO Menu (ZPBMENU). You now have three tabs visible, each offering a different option: Tab 1: Click the first tab to return to the original GCSS-Army Portal Home to open additional WIN GUI sessions, open items on the Detailed Navigation panel, or log off. Tab 2: Click the second tab to display the initial session (which still shows the SAP Easy Access screen). Tab 3: Click the third tab (displayed here) to use the PBO Menu. 18. 16 Page: 16 of 21 Portal Home (Home tab) The Home tab on the GCSS-Army portal default page includes links to SAP Business Intelligence (BI) and BusinessObjects (BOBJ) reports. 20. Click the Property Book expand button 21. Click the BI Bex PB REPORTS expand button.

17 Page: 17 of 21 Portal Home (BI Bex Open) If your work involves BI or BOBJ reporting, this section provides links to those report screens: To access BOBJ reports, click the BI Launch Pad link and log into the BOBJ system. For BI reports, select your functional area in the Detailed Navigation panel on the left side of the screen and drill down to the report you need, such as the UERL or DAR. Tip: Click the PB BI Report Help link to display a list of the BI and BOBJ training materials currently available in the EUM Click the Log off link.
