3 Cortana Challenges At the last meeting, the reminder I set up on my laptop appeared on my desktop at home. Reminders are synced to the users' computers but do not appear on those that have not completed all the set-up steps. We also changed Edge to make Google the default search engine but Cortana still used Bing. Cortana does not rely on Edge. To resolve this, go to Google Chrome, and to overflow and More Tools and Extensions. Go to the end of the list, and select Get More Extensions. Request Chrometana and add it. You will be asked if you want to use Google, Yahoo or DuckDuckGo. Once you select one of these, all searches will use that engine including those from Cortana.

4 Extensions Extensions are small programs that can be added to a browser to allow it to do additional useful tasks. For general privacy, Select Settings and then Privacy Start with General Then go to Location, etc. & turn each on or off for different apps Speech, etc. focuses on learning your voice and writing style Diagnostics basic option checks if running properly; enhanced adds checks on memory, etc, and crashes & makes adjustments; and full also adds troubleshooters and monitors lost documents.

8 Downloading Windows 10 To get newest version, use Media Creation Tool Download from To select the correct version of this tool you need to know whether you have 32 bit or 64 bit version of 7 or 8 check System on Control Panel. Be Patient generally runs itself with only a few times have to click something. Often some slowness or other minor problems after download. Usually these issues go away in a day or so.

9 Eliminating Windows 10 Downloads To eliminaate Windows 10, open the Start menu and select Settings. Click the Update & security icon and select Recovery. 10 Classic View To revert to the Windows 7 style Start Button and Start Menu, go to Type classic on search bar and select Classic Shell. Download and install the program. Open it. You will have three choices for the menu the first is like Windows XP, the second like Vista, and the third like Windows 7. There is an option to replace the Menu Button with the one from these older programs. Making this change will lose your immediate access to the apps, but they can be relocated to the program list. You will lose the live apps, that is, those like Weather, Mail, News, Photos, etc. that show the current weather, the latest , the latest news, some of your photos, etc.
