1 How to install Virtuoso Chromeleon Integration Software! Only valid for Microsoft Windows 7 64bit version! 1. You need Chromeleon 7.2 SR1 Muc installed on your computer 2. Install PI Gateway software (gatewayssetup.msi) and follow the instructions on the screen 3. Install the Chromeleon Integration software (Thermo.Chromeleon.Virtuoso.msi using the setup.exe file) and follow the instructions on the screen 4. Ensure that the Virtuoso Print Service will be installed as it is deactivated per default Picture 1: Virtuoso Integration Software Setup Screen per default deactivated Virtuoso Print Service 5. Please select Virtuoso Print Service for installation as it is needed

3 9. Push Browse button Picture 4: pigateway Setup Screen 10. Create a new folder and rename it to a useful name, e.g. C:\VirtuosoCacheDirectory 11. Close pigateway Program 12. Open Windows Explorer on your Computer and check if the folder, e.g. C:\VirtuosoCacheDirectory exists. The folder should be empty at this time 13. Create in this folder another folder called system 14. Right click Windows button in lower left corner of your desktop screen. Picture 5: Microsoft Windows 7 desktop screen. Push Start button 15. Go to Control Panel and further to System. You should see comparable information as displayed on picture 6.. You need to check if you are using a 32-bit Version or a 64-bit Version. The next steps are just valid for 64 bit versions. If you are using a Microsoft Windows 7 32 bit version please stop here and contact your local IT.

If you can t identify the described steps please stop here and ask your local IT department and ask for help. All changes will have immediate effects without the need to save! Please follow exact the description or major damage to your operating system can occur which can cause data loss and the need for a complete Microsoft Windows 7 reinstallation! 17. Go to Wow6432Node 22. Go to Thermo 23. Go to ChromeleonPrintService 24. Check if it looks similar to Picture Double left click on CacheDirectory and enter the pi Gateway cache folder e.g. C:\VirtuosoCacheDirectory. If you can t find this entry in the registry close the regedit window (Picture 13) and go back to step 3 and install the Virtuoso Print Service. 6 Picture 11: Enter Cache Folder to the Microsoft Windows 7 registry 26. Double left click on Print TemplatesFile and enter: system\template.xml. If you can t find this entry in the registry close the registry window (Picture 13) and go back to step 3 and install the Virtuoso Print Service. There is no need to save the changes as they will have immediate effect. 28. Go to the Virtuoso 29. Plugin a USB stick maximum size 1 GB 30. On the Virtuoso go to Software go to XML go to Export and wait ~30 seconds 31. Go to remove USB 32. Remove the USB stick from the Virtuoso and plug in the USB stick to your Computer 33. Open the USB stick on your Computer - Search for a folder called XML and open it 34. Copy file template.xml to your created folder e.g. C:\VirtuosoCachedirectory\system from step 13

7 Now the installation should be completed and should work with Chromeleon. You need to create a new translator and template for Chromeleon on your Virtuoso system that your Chromeleon data will be processed correctly. Please repeat step after creating your Chromeleon template on the Virtuoso to update your template.xml file on your computer
