2 Setting up your NISIS EASYPEN USB Graphic Tablet Welcome Thank you and congratulations on your purchase of the NISIS USB Graphic Tablet. This User Guide assumes that your NISIS USB Graphics Tablet has been installed successfully. If you have not yet installed your USB Grap hics Tablet, then please follow the instructions in the NISIS USB Graphics Tablet Installation Guide. Checking for the latest Manuals and Software Drivers NISIS continuously strives to improve its products and services, so manuals and software drivers are updated frequently. Before you proceed with this User Guide, we strongly recommend you visit the NISIS web site at nisis.com to see whether there is a later revision of the User Guide. Getting Started You set up the various parameters that can be adjusted for the USB Graphics Tablet through the NISIS USB Tablet Settings Window. You can access this Settings Windows in two ways :- 1. Click on the NISIS USB Tablet icon on the Windows Task Bar 2. Double click on the Graphics Tablet icon in Control Panel.

3 The NISIS USB Graphics Tablet Setup Window The NISIS USB Tablet Setup window includes 5 tabs :- About, Buttons, Mouse, Control and Function Key. It is often best to experiment with these settings to find the setup that best suits your particular preferences. However, before you try changing the default settings, it is recommended that you write down the default settings, so you can return to them should you not like the changes you make, later. About The About window provides information on the Tablet size and the Software Driver version. It allows you to select the measurement units to inches or centimetres Tracking Modes You can also change the Tracking Mode, although it is recommended that you leave these settings in their default settings which are Pen (Absolute) and Mouse (Relative). Absolute Tracking Mode means that you regard the active area of the graphics tablet as a map of your computer screen. If you place the pen nib in the top left corner of the active area on the tablet, then the cursor will move to the top left corner of the screen. Similarly, if you place the pen nib on the bottom right of the active area of the tablet, then the cursor will move to the bottom right corner of your screen. Relative Tracking is what you are familiar with when you use a conventional mouse. This means that if you lower your mouse onto the active area of the tablet, what ever the position of the mouse, the cursor will remain where it was originally. The cursor only moves when you start to move the mouse. So for example, if the cursor is positioned in the top left corner of the screen, and you please the mouse in the bottom left of the screen, the cursor will not move, but will remain in the top left corner of the screen. It is only when you begin to move the mouse, that the cursor starts to move in the same direction you are moving the mouse.

4 Buttons The Buttons window enables you to change the default settings of the pen rocker switch and the action that occurs when you press down on the nib. If you want to experiment with different settings, just remember to write down the default settings first. Mouse The Mouse window enables you to change the actions of the buttons, change the mouse buttons to suit left handed users, and change the speed that the cursor moves relative to the mouse speed.

5 Control The Control window enables you to change the size of the Tablet s active area and to change the offset values. Don t forget to write down the default values before you make any changes. Function Key The Function Key window enables you to change the functions of the Function Keys at the top of the Tablet. If you click on any of the Screen buttons, such as F1, then you will see the Function Key window which gives you the options available to you for changing the F1 Key s function.

6 Inserting Batteries into the RF pen and RF Mouse The pen and mouse each use a single type AAA battery. IMPORTANT NOTE: Ensure that you plug the battery in the correct direction so that the + positive connector connects to the + connector in the mouse or pen. Installing the Mouse battery Unclip the battery cover on the bottom of the mouse and check with the diagram in the battery holder to ensure you insert the battery the correct way round. Replace the battery cover.

7 Installing the Pen battery Unscrew the pen s cover and with the pen nib pointing downwards, insert the battery with the + positive end pointing downwards, i.e. towards the nib. Screw the pen cover back on, taking care not to over tighten, otherwise the case may split.
