3 Seite 3 1. Mobile WINLine (MWL) 1.1. Access to Company Data With Tablet and Smartphone The Mobile WINLine product (MWL) expands the MESONIC product offering for mobile device users. The module enables access to company data stored in the ERP and CRM systems. Using the Mobile WINLine, users can call up data online on various kinds of mobile devices and also make entries directly online. This access can be used in various kinds of usage scenarios, for example: Management personnel access to account and product information, calendar information Service technician on site activity External sales force users, customer order entry Each MWL user is supplied with a Cockpit display that can be used to organize and control information access in the MWL. The Cockpit can be configured to include the reports and menu items that the user needs for daily operations, i.e., the "role-based" work space. The EWL server is used for data connection access with the MWL running in the Internet. The user can thus use the MWL on a PC (in a browser), or a mobile device such as a tablet or smartphone. The Mobile WINLine is configured for use with the Apple iphone and ipad as well as Android or Mobile Windows devices and can be accessed with specially developed Apps. All kinds of end user devices (smartphones, Tablets, Touch-Screens, Laptops, PCs etc.) that meet these technical requirements are thus applicable for use of the MWL.

4 Seite Installation Mobile WINLine New Installation of the Mobile WINLine The WINLine Installation Wizard contains an entry for installing the EWL and MWL files. Activate the "EWL/MWL" entry to install the Mobile WINLine as you are installing the rest of the WINLine software package.

5 Seite 5 During the course of EWL/MWL installation a new sub-folder "EWL" is set up in the WINLine server folder. This sub-folder contains the required application files (.exe files) and the configuration file "mesoserver.config" that are required for running the MWL Retroactive Installation of the Mobile WINLine Call up the setup.exe of the WINLine install version to retroactively install the MWL, i.e., to modify an existing WINLine installation. Choose the existing WINLine installation for the update in the following dialogue window:

6 Seite 6 Choose option "Modify" in the following dialogue window to update the installation with the desired changes. The next step contains the components that can be retroactively installed. Choose option "EWL/MWL" in this dialogue window. The set up installation is stated by pressing the NEXT button. After this installation phase, a new sub-folder "EWL" is located in the WINLine installation folder.

7 Seite 7 The next phase of the MWL installation takes place in the WINLine ADMIN module. A program license containing MWL user license entries is required in the system to be able to proceed with this next step in the installation process. The Enterprise WINLine server is installed and configured in WINLine ADMIN in menu item: MSM EWL Server Further information on this procedure can be found in chapter "Setting up the EWL Server for use with the Mobile WINLine".

8 Seite Setting up the EWL Server for use with the Mobile WINLine EWL Server on same PC as the WINLine Server After the WINLine and EWL/MWL has been successfully installed with the Install Shield, the actual set up and configuration of the EWL Server that is used by the MWL for Internet access can be performed in WINLine ADMIN. Attention: The WINLine installation folder must be shared with full read/write rights for all network users. For Windows OS from Windows Vista it is necessary to open the WINLine ADMIN module as an administrator (application start with "run as administrator") to be able to install and start the EWL Server Service later on in the installation process. Activate the "Set up EWL Server" option to configure the EWL server at the same time the WINLine server is being configured as the WINLine server. This checkbox can only be activated when the MWL user license (or alternatively an EWL server license) has already been entered in the system. Press the NEXT button to proceed to the next step. The shared folder name of the WINLine server application folder is suggested in the next step. Confirm this entry and press the NEXT button to proceed to the next step.

9 Seite 9 In the next step you can select to optionally set up client workstations. When simply installing the EWL Server, it is not necessary at this point to install other client workstations, since they can be retroactively added later on in the Workstation Wizard. Note: When at some point more than one EWL Server will be set up (i.e., use of the EWL System Server architecture), the respective EWL servers will be set up on individual PCs in WINLine client installations (Client/Server or Central Client types).

10 Seite 10 Click on the NEXT button to proceed with the installation. More information on installation WINLine client installations can be found in the WINLine ADMIN manual in chapter "Installation from the Server".

11 Seite 11 Press the NEXT button to proceed to the next step where the settings for the EWL server are configured. The EWL server port settings and server IP addresses are entered here. The EWL Server Port is used by the Java Client (Java Applet) only for access to the EWL server. The Http Server Port is used to access the EWL through a browser (e.g. the Internet Explorer). The EWL server is opened over the http Server Port to enable download of a Java client version or to validate the login data. From this point, the Java client communicates with the EWL server through an internal WINLine protocol (using the specified EWL Server Port). The EWL is validated so that the Java Applet can access the hard disc. The hard disc access is needed for upload and download. The user name and session ID can be saved in a cookie at login with the "Save login" checkbox. In the EWL it is possible to delete the locally saved login data, e.g., the automatic login settings, with the button directly next to the traffic light icon. The location where temporary Internet files are saved and for the folder size for temporary files is set in the Java settings (System settings in Windows under Java). Port 80 is suggested by default. This port can be used when another web server (e.g., IIS) is not already installed and running on the computer. Advantage of Port 80: When the server is called, you only need to enter the IP address or server name (e.g., or It is not necessary to enter the port (e.g., Internal and external IP addresses are used for internal and external access to the EWL server. The normal internal address is usually in range xxx.xxx. This address can also be used in an internal network (LAN). It is not possible to access the server with this IP address from outside (e.g., an Internet cafe). The EWL interprets IP addresses in the range 192.*.*.* as internal addresses.

12 Seite 12 The EWL is validated with a signature, so that access to the hard disc is enabled from the Java applet. Hard disc access is required for uploads and downloads of data and reports. The user name and session ID can be saved in a cookie with checkbox "Save login" during login. You can delete the saved cookie information in the EWL with the button in the system status bar next to the Audit Journal button ("traffic light" icon). You can set up in the Java Control Panel (Java settings in the Windows System Control window) where the temporary Internet files will be saved and the amount of hard disc space that is reserved for temporary files, Start Server service: Use this checkbox option to automatically install and then start the Mesonic EWL service (mesosvcmanager.exe) with the local system account as soon as the EWL server set up is completed. The Mesonic EWL Service Manager runs in the background and when running it periodically checks to see whether the EWL server is running and, if not, restarts the EWL server. The service should be manually installed and reinstalled in case the EWL server needs to be set up in a different folder or path: Installation is performed in the EWL folder with file and start parameter mesosvcmanager.exe i Deinstallation is made with mesosvcmanager.exe d Information on available start parameters is shown with mesosvcmanager.exe -?. Entries are made in a CMD shell from Windows "Start Execute / cmd". The server service is installed and started with command "mesosvcmanager i2". Note All settings are saved in the "mesoserver.config" in the EWL server folder and can be edited later on in menu item MSM/EWL Server in WINLine ADMIN.

13 Seite 13 The installation is started in the next step (NEXT button). Press the OK button to start installation. After successful installation, the message above appears and the WINLine ADMIN application is exited.

14 Seite EWL Server Setup: EWL server Is NOT the WINLine Server In the first step of the installation wizard, you should NOT activate the checkbox "Set up EWL Server" Instead, the EWL sub-folder that was installed during the initial setup should be copied as a sub-folder to the WINLine installation folder on the PC that is to be the EWL server. The further installation of the EWL server then takes place on the PC serving as the EWL server by starting WINLine ADMIN in the WINLine installation folder on that PC. See chapter "WINLine ADMIN - EWL Server Settings", as well.

15 Seite Starting and stopping the EWL Server Service - Tray Application To start the server service, start file "mesosvcwnd.exe" in the EWL folder. The EWL Mesonic Service Manager Icon is then shown in the Windows tray. The service can be stopped and started with this icon. Attention: To be able to start the server with this tray icon, the "Mesonic EWL Service Manager" must be present and installed in advance. Use the right mouse button to start the service "Mesonic EWL Service Manager": When the server is started and stopped, the status is shown in a small window. Not only is the EWL server stopped, but also the service itself. The tray icon shows the status in a tooltip, e.g., "EWL Mesonic Service Manager - online". The tray icon is updated during stop and start procedures. For testing purposes, it is also possible to start the EWL Server without the EWL service (the "Mesonic EWL Service Manager" should not be in started mode. Start file "mesoserver.exe" in a CMD shell for this purpose.

16 Seite 16 When the server started correctly, the cmd window will appear as above. When the server could not be started, error messages will be shown in the window. All server activities are saved in log file "mesoserver.log" in the EWL sub-folder Starting the Mobile WINLine (MWL) Starting the MWL via Internet Browser The MWL can be called up in an Internet browser (e.g., on a PC) by entering the IP address of the configured EWL server, the HTTP port and the suffix: "/mwl". Example: The following log in window is then displayed in the browser for entry of user name, password and language selection.

17 Seite 17 User: Enter user account name here, i.e., a WINLine user that is activated as "EWL/MWL" user. Note: A MWL user license must be present in the system to be able to log onto the MWL. Password: Enter user account password here. Language Choose the language with which you want to use the MWL here.

18 Seite 18 After start up of the Mobile WINLine using the browser, a Cockpit view with menu buttons and a ribbon menu are displayed on the screen. These settings can be changed under "Settings" at any time.

19 Seite Starting the Mobile WINLine with an App Click on the App Store (Play Store) icon in the desktop of your Smartphone or Tablet PC to install the Mobile WINLine app. Search for key word "Mobile WINLine".

20 Seite 20 When you click on the Mobile WINLine app entry that is found, a detailed description is listed with a demo screen and an install link. Click on the Install button to install the Mobile WINLine app. Once the Mobile WINLine app is installed, you can choose between a demo version and full version. To access the full version of the MWL from an external network, you should enter the link access data (MWL URL), i.e., the IP address of your MWL Server in the settings for the app on your mobile device Login for the Mobile WINLine App Tap on the desktop icon of your Mobile WINLine app on the desktop of your mobile device (or the App Manager area). The login window for the Mobile WINLine will then be displayed: User: Enter user account name here, i.e., a WINLine user that is activated as "EWL/MWL" user. Note: A MWL user license must be present in the system to be able to log onto the MWL. Password: Enter user account password here. Language Choose the language with which you want to use the MWL here. Once the login succeeds, the standard Cockpit view of the Mobile WINLine is displayed as the first screen. The Cockpit on an Android smartphone appears, for example, as follows:

21 Seite MWL Cockpit Setting up the MWL Cockpits The Mobile WINLine Cockpit organizes your menu access to information on the Tablet PC or smartphone. The Cockpit can be easily configured on user-specific basis, i.e., to set up which menu items are available on the mobile device for use (see the Chapter on "Scope of Functions" for more information on the menu items that are generally available in the Mobile WINLine). There are two access points for configuring the Mobile WINLine Cockpits: Enterprise WINLine client for online access CWL Start module for back office access The following screens demonstrate Cockpit configuration in the CWL Start module:

22 Seite 22 Cockpit number 9 is reserved for the Mobile WINLine Cockpit settings. This Cockpit can be selected by clicking on the rightmost "globe" icon in the selection display, or by clicking on the NEXT or BACK paging buttons.

23 Seite 23 The Cockpit Entry window is opened for configuring the Cockpit when the EDIT button is clicked. The grid contains all the Cockpit items that are currently configured. Using the buttons in the window toolbar, you can add new items or edit existing ones. 24 Seite 24 New Case Daily View Detailed information on available Cockpit items for the Mobile WINLine can be obtained in Chapter "Functions in Detail" User Types WINLine CRM Users WINLine CRM users (i.e., WINLine users who have checkbox "CRM" activated in the User Setup window in WINLine ADMIN) have access solely to CRM content in the Mobile WINLine. This content includes: INFO reports: Account Info / Sales Rep Info /Project Info Base Info areas: Accounts, Sales Reps, Projects CRM data areas: Workflow entry, Workflow lists The CRM user can use a sub-set of the total available data areas in the Mobile WINLine scope of functionality.

25 Seite WINLine User The WINLine user has, in addition to the data areas available for CRM users, extended options for data entry and additional reporting. Voucher entry is currently available in the Mobile WINLine (line entry without grid, direct entry of extension products, no kit list products). Reports are printed in the standard WINLine ".SPL" layout. Report formats/layouts in grid or cube display are not currently supported. Some reports contain hyperlinks that enable sending of s directly from the report, e.g., on a smartphone Scope of Functions - Mobile WINLine The Mobile WINLine is basically for use with two types of users: WINLine and CRM users. The standard Cockpits in the release versions are pre-configured for these types, whereby CRM users only have access to the INFO reporting areas, selected Base Info areas and CRM workflow processing and reporting Functions in Detail

Brightness The user can switch between "bright, medium and dark" levels. Effects The user can switch on or off the effects. Ribbons Ribbons can be switched on or off here.
