3 1 Introduction Dualog Connection Suite consists of a standard package plus optional extensions. This document describes requirements of different configurations of Dualog Connection Suite, as well as software requirements/support. This document is valid from Dualog Connection Suite version 2.28 and onwards. 2 Hardware Requirements Please note that these requirements are a minimum. IMPORTANT: If other applications are running on the same computer as Dualog Connection Suite, higher CPU, memory and disk capacity apply. 2.1 Core installation The following minimum requirements apply when running the Dualog Connection Suite Core service only: CPU: Minimum Intel Core TM i3 or equivalent RAM: Minimum 2 GB (recommended 4 GB) Disk: The installation itself take approx. 50 GB. In addition data storage ( , log files, File Transfer, database etc) must be added. See for estimates. HQ graded server disks are highly recommended. I/O (Serial Ports, Network Adapters) according to communication equipment requirements. 2.2 Services When using the services (Business Mail and Crew Mail), no further requirements apply to CPU and RAM, while disk requirements will increase. In average the services generates approx. 20 GB per year, while backup will add up this space multiplied by Network Control To avoid reduced throughput on internal traffic, a CPU with at least four cores is required. The following minimum HW recommendations apply: CPU: Minimum Intel Core TM i or equivalent RAM: Minimum 4 GB Disk: Network Control stores data in the Oracle database, no specific HDD requirements When running Network Control, we recommend a configuration with minimum two network interfaces: one connecting the ship s LAN and the other the communications equipment. 5 Comments: * Windows XP and 2003 Server not supported from Dualog Connection Suite version Upgrades from older versions of Dualog Connection Suite is still possible. ** Dualog Connection Suite will install and run on Windows 8 and Server 2012, but we strongly recommend using Windows 8.1 and Server 2012 R2. Main testing performed on Windows 8.1 and Server 2012 R2. *** Oracle 11g does not support any 32-bits operating systems newer than Windows 8. Dualog Connection Suite will install and run on Windows bits, but we strongly recommend using the 64-bits versions. Testing performed on 64-bits operating systems. Important notice: 1. The computer Connection Suite is installed on must not be a Domain Controller 2. Tested on Professional edition of the different Operating Systems. Home Editions are not recommended 3. Network Control includes a NDIS Driver. No other NDIS Drivers should run on the same computer as Network Control 4. The operating systems Windows 8.1 and Server 2012 R2 supported from Dualog Connection Suite version Clients All Microsoft Operating Systems from Windows 2000 onwards are tested and supported. For other Operating Systems like MacOS, Linux etc, no testing performed, but using a supported browser and Flash player will most likely work fine. For tablets and smart phones not supporting flash, only WebMail and Internet logon (html) supported. 3.2 Database support Dualog Connection Suite stores all traffic data and configuration in an Oracle Database. Oracle XE is supplied with the product, but existing installations of Oracle can also be used. Dualog Connection Suite supports the following versions of Oracle: Version 10.1 Version 11 Page 4 of 5

6 3.3 Internet Browsers The following Browsers are tested: Microsoft Internet Explorer Firefox Google Chrome Dualog Connection Suite and all its extensions are tested on the latest available browser version. For compatibility and safety reasons, we recommend our customers to always use the latest browser version. Adobe Flash player must be installed to be able to access the user interface. If not installed on the client computer, installation can be found on the computer/server running the Dualog Connection Suite services.
