BMR Operating Instructions BMR Operating Instructions 1. BMR Introduction 2. Device Description 3.
BMR Introduction BMR Introduction 1. BMR Introduction General Information Areas of application Configuration options Structure... 8
BMR Introduction General Information General Information 1. Simple mounting on standard rail 2. AC 110 to 230 V connection +/- 10% 3. 5 digital outputs (floating) 4. 8 universal inputs/outputs 5. 2 digital inputs (also suitable as counter inputs) The bus module controller has standard dimensions (144 x 96 mm²) and is well suited for direct installation into electronic distributors. The BMR bus module controller can be freely configured. With its graphic display and single-button operation, the BMR (similar to HRP/LRP) is very easy to use. In any BMR, there are a maximum of three heating circuits OR two ventilation circuits available. Additional freely programmable functions can be implemented using other additional functions such as software objects, markers, timers, and limiting values.
BMR Introduction General Information Thanks to the direct Ethernet connection and the integrated Web server, which is offered as an add-on module, there is nothing to stop you from integrating the device into networks. The integrated Web server allows you to operate the BMR remotely using a Web browser. Typical BMR visualization using a Web browser
BMR Introduction Areas of application Areas of application The BMR bus module controller is a DDC controller that can be used anywhere. The device can be freely configured. For heating and ventilation, there are ready-made partial macro functions available which can easily be put together to form an entire system. The completely free configurability of the BMR bus module controller offers very comprehensive applications for regulating, controlling and monitoring operational systems. A few example areas of application: Heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems Systems in the field of regenerative energies Electrical installation IT system monitoring...
BMR Introduction Configuration options Configuration options BMR configuration using BMR Tool BMR Toolis the best way to configure the BMR. BMR Tool allows you to carry out project planning for heating and ventilation systems using macros. The standard system manual forms the basis of these macros. Use BMR Tool to plan a bus module controller system in advance. The completed configuration is then read into the BMR from the PC using the BMR Ethernet connection. BMR Tool runs in Windows XP. More information about BMR Tool can be found in the BMR Tool section of this manual. In addition to BMR configuration, the following options are available to users of this software: Simple operation Self-explanatory tool without a lengthy manual Region and language can be selected The BMR Tool and BMR have the same macros with the same system schematics No inflexible macros; use of options ensures a high degree of flexibility Quick and easy overview of macros Configuration documentation Automatic preparation of parts list Automatic BMR assignment Configuration can be sent quickly and easily to the BMR The following figure depicts the BMR Tool processing interface on the PC:
BMR Introduction Configuration options BMR configuration using a Web browser Free configuration is also possible using the BMR Web server. To do so, you need to call up the BMR program level. In the BMR program level, you can set and link together BMR hardware and software objects. You can make customer-specific plain text assignments here as well. In addition, Kieback&Peter services also include customer-specific configuration of the automation system. The following figure depicts an example BMR configuration using a Web server: BMR configuration using the graphic display of the BMR You can also completely configure the bus module controller using the knob and the graphic display. This is depicted in the following figure:
BMR Introduction Structure Structure Structure of planning and user guidance The functions in the BMR bus module controller are arranged strictly by system. This could be, for example, a heating system. Within a system, system sections can be grouped by logically connected functions. One such groupis a heating circuit, for example, with system sections Pump and Valve. The function of a system section within a group as well as the closed loop control function of the group itself are described by objects. An object generally consists of input parameters, its own functionality and output parameters. The objects are divided further for clarity. Software objects Software objects include functions comprise control. These include the basic programs Heating, Ventilation and separate objects such as Arithmetic. The basic programs were combined in their functionality. Below object number S238 are all software functions that directly have to do with the basic program Ventilation. This includes the cascade or the Y-limit. Hardware objects The hardware objects describe combined functions that are used for controlling system sections (the operation of pumps, fans, burners, etc.) Basic objects Simple basic functions are realized with basic objects such as timers, markers, switches, and the terminals of modules (pins). Attachment objects Parameters can include attachment objects, which modify the parameters or expand their function. For example, you can attach function object "F001" to parameter "ControlledVariableSensor" for scaling if this parameter is to be read in and scaled as a 0-to-10 V signal. System objects These include functions that are directly processed in the BMR. In general, they do not have anything to do with the external system directly. System objects include, for example, the creation of date and time or the configuration of network connections, modems, etc. Subobjects These objects serve to describe an object in more detail. A prime example is a pin. Every terminal in the system is represented by a pin. A subobject can set this pin to a digital or analog input or output. Configuration is consequently structured and clearly arranged.

Controls Controls Controls The BMR bus module controller (automation station) is controlled using a knob and two buttons. All currently possible operating steps are displayed on the LCD. They can be selected and set by turning the knob. To accept the settings, press the "SET" button. To return to the previous operating step, press the "ESC" button. The following figure gives an overview of the most important display elements and controls of the BMR bus module controller. The most important controls are briefly explained in this section. 1. Back-lit graphic display (64 x 128 characters) 2. "SET" button Confirms entry 3. "ESC" button One step back 4. Knob 5. "Info" button For important information 6. "Alarm" button Accesses alarm messages 7. Freely programmable button (in preparation) 8. Bus LED Displays bus communication 9. Error LED Indicates alarms Knob For setting the desired operating step as well as adjusting values. The currently possible operating steps are always displayed on the graphic display. They can be selected and set by turning the knob. New values, nominal values and times are also set by turning the knob. ESC button The "ESC" button can be pressed at any time to return to the previous operating step. Every operating step can be left and the setting of new values can be cancelled simply by pressing the "ESC" button. Any settings that were previously made are not saved. The initial screen can be reached by pressing the "ESC" button multiple times. This avoids operating errors.
Controls SET button The "SET" button confirms a selected operating step or value change. The selection of an operating step or the setting of a new value using the knob is confirmed with the "SET" button. Confirmed operating steps lead to the following operating step; confirmed values are accepted and saved.
Controls Graphic display The BMR bus module controller has a graphic display. The backlighting of the LCD switches on after the first operating action. It switches off automatically approximately one minute after the last operating action. Pressing a button or turning the knob turns on the display's backlighting immediately. Graphic display 64 x 128 pixels Back-lit
First startup First startup After unpacking the device for installation in the system, check all electrical connections before supplying the device with mains voltage (AC 110 to 230 V +/- 10%). After turning on the bus module controller, the green bus LED of the BMR will light up for approx. 10 seconds. The green LED will flash once shortly and the display content will be loaded for the first time. The following figures help explain the entry options: By turning the knob to the left, you can select the desired language. After you have selected the language, confirm with "SET". The following display now appears: If the date does not match the current date, you can correct it using the knob. Use "SET" to accept the set date. You can now set the exact time.
First startup If it is necessary to correct the time, you can do so using the knob. Use "SET" to accept the set time. The screen shown to the left now appears: Use this display to correct any incorrect entries. By turning the knob to the left and pressing "SET", you can start fields that were previously accessed and correct them if necessary. If you press "SET", you will come to the standard start screen of the bus module controller. You can view information about the device model on the start screen. This is the start screen of a BMR410-CWEB, a model with an integrated Web server.
