1 RELEASE NOTES SysQue SOFTWARE This document provides basic information about new features and modifications in the release of the Trimble SysQue software. More detailed information can be found in the online help system. Introduction These release notes describe the features and enhancements that are new for the major installer release dated For additional assistance, please or call Upgrade procedure To download the major release, log into the SysQue support forum at Browse to General Information / Updates, SysQue Software Downloads and select the installer required for your Revit version. To update previously installed SysQue software, select Update. For new installations, select Full installer for the year of Revit you have installed. Compatibility Autodesk software This release of SysQue is compatible with the current releases of Autodesk Revit versions 2016, 2017, Windows SysQue is compatible with Microsoft Windows versions 7, 8, and 10. Backward compatibility Digital models produced in Revit cannot be saved to or opened in previous versions. Version: 5.2 Date: February 2018

2 New Features, Enhancements, and Updates This section includes a brief introduction to new features. For more detailed instructions log into the SysQue support forum at and browse to the appropriate category. Rotator Tool is now static on the Duct, Electrical, and Pipe palettes Custom parameters that are added through Project Data will not be overwritten by this new utility. Supports Trade Discipline, Point Type, Short Description, and Layer are now written to family parameters. You will not need to re-enter this information if you reselect the same components for Point Manager. Version 5.2 Page 2

3 Spooling Spooling now supports Ladder Cable Tray, Wire basket tray, Wireway, and Busduct. The Electrical Template file supplied in the template folder (I_Electrical_SysQue_Template_20xx.rte) has 3D views, schedules, and a sheet template set up for spooling Cable Tray items. Additional tag families have been to the template folders for tagging the straights and fittings. PAC A new export option to PractiCam has been added within the PAC dialog. Additional improvements for PAC have been provided in this release to address reported issues for round duct, spec mapping, blank fields and canvass connectors. Version 5.2 Page 3

4 Electrical Cable Tray items (Ladder, Wire Basket, WireWay, and Busduct) are now supported by the Annotation Tool within the Tool Menu. Cable (Ladder) Tray, Wire Basket, WireWay and Busduct families have been rebuilt to add clearances on all sides, dividers, and covers. We have given you two options now. Default is with Process Fittings checked, which will be place the default Revit Cable Tray system types and SysQue fittings. The default Revit Cable Tray system types are drawn as nominal sizes so they will not be dimensionally correct. The second option we now provide is to have dimensionally correct SysQue cable tray families placed during processing along with SysQue cable tray fittings. The process to use option 2 is to uncheck Process Fittings, check the box next to Clearances, enter the clearance depth for each side (value is in inches) and than layout the tray system. If you want to define dividers, select the straights or fittings and enter the number of dividers and check the box if you want covers included too. The dividers will be modeled (equally spaced) on the cable tray straights. The straight length parameter, number of dividers parameter, and cover are all shared parameters so they will be available for scheduling. We are rebuilding all tray families and not all have the clearances added. In Option 2 the straights will no be Cable Tray Fittings instead of Revit system types. The clearances are able to be turned off through Visibility Graphics. Version 5.2 Page 4

5 Wire colors for Conductor, Neutral, and Ground wires are now included in the Panel Circuit Information and Wire Fill Reports. Panel Circuit Information Report wire colors are determined from the Phase A, B and C and whether you define the panel as single phase or 3 phase. Wire colors for wirefill are from the colors selected in the Circuit ID tab. Both are defined in Specification Settings. Version 5.2 Page 5

6 The Create Schedule command within Specification Settings / Panel and Circuits Tab will now create a Revit Schedule with the Panel Name. The schedule is formated like a Panel Directory. What is entered in the Notes column in the tab are placed next to the Circuit Number. Version 5.2 Page 6

8 Submittal Electrical is now supported Search for Content The Search for Content App on the 2017 SysQue Ribbon has been fixed. General If you are downloading/backfilling families for the first time, you may need to run SetConnectorInfo in a blank non-sysque Revit model for SysQue to set the correct Connector End types. It s recommended that you do this before you start using the Electrical, Duct, and Pipe modules. Known Issues Spooling There is a change that was made to the Revit 2018 API that has caused an issue with creation of spool drawings that use non-3d views. The other views are not being properly Cropped. As a work-around you can create only 3D views and orient them as if they were Plan or Section views. Version 5.2 Page 8
