3 Overview SureClose includes several fixes and enhancements. This document provides important postinstallation considerations, a brief explanation of what has been fixed, and an introduction to new features and functionality implemented with this release. Deployment Date: June 12, 2009 Post-Installation Considerations After the new version has been deployed and prior to your logging in, it is recommended that you complete the following post-installation tasks: Delete Temporary Internet Files Delete Cookies Deleting Temporary Internet Files (MS Article ID: ) The Temporary Internet Files (or cache) folder contains webpage content that is stored on your hard disk for quick viewing. This cache permits Internet Explorer or MSN Explorer to download only the content that has changed since you last viewed a webpage instead of downloading all the content for the page every time it is displayed. Administrators can customize Temporary Internet File settings to prevent modifications. Contact your System Administrator if you cannot access the Internet Options dialog box or the General tab. Steps 1. Close Internet Explorer and any instances of Windows Explorer. 2. From the Start menu, point to Control Panel and then select Internet Options. The Internet Options dialog box displays. 3. On the General tab, locate Temporary Internet Files and then click Delete Files. The Delete Files dialog box displays. 4. If available, select the Delete all offline content check box and then click OK. A confirmation message displays asking if you are sure you want to complete the delete process. 5. To confirm, click OK. Be patient when performing this task, if the Temporary Internet Files folder contains a significant amount of webpage content, then this process may take several minutes to complete. 4 Deleting Cookie Files (MS Article ID: ) Files starting with the word Cookie may remain in the Temporary Internet Files folder even after opting to delete them. You can delete these files; however, it is recommended that you make a backup copy of cookies prior to deleting them because these files may contain information for a customized webpage or login information for a website that you do not want to lose. If needed, contact your System Administrator for assistance or refer to MS Article ID: Steps 1. Close Internet Explorer and any instances of Windows Explorer. 2. From the Start menu, point to Control Panel and then select Internet Options. The Internet Options dialog box displays. 3. On the General tab, locate Temporary Internet Files and then click Delete Cookies. The Delete Cookies dialog box displays. A confirmation message displays asking if you are sure you want to complete the delete process. 4. To confirm, click OK. SureClose Professional Release s
5 Features and Functionality This section introduces new features and functionality added to SureClose New in this Release SureClose Professional Logo updates New Back button when viewing hyperlinks in a PDF New Recurring Alert task notifications New task notification merge fields SureClose Print Driver v2.2 updates Home page updates New Internet Explorer 8 compatibility Known merge field defect SureClose Professional Logo Updates In this release, the existing SureClose logo has been replaced with an updated version. New Back Button in PDF Viewer When viewing a PDF, you may notice some have links to other PDFs or web sites. In this case, to simplify the navigation of these documents within the PDF viewer, a new Back button has been added to the Documents page. Use this button to navigate back to the original PDF once you have clicked a link to another document or website from within the original document. SureClose Professional Release s
6 New Recurring Alert Task Notifications Recurring Alerts have been added as a new task notification type. When selected, repeating notifications are sent to parties on a file about a specific task. Steps Recurring Alerts are available at the file-level only and cannot be set up at the template-level. If retemplating or saving a template on a file, then recurring alerts are not carried over. 1. On the navigation pane, click Files. The My Files page displays. 2. Locate the file you want to work with using the search options. Refer to Searching for Files for more information. 3. To expand the menu, hover your mouse over the file Address/Description. 4. From the menu, click Tasks. The Tasks page for the selected file displays. 5. Select the task you want to send a recurring alert notification about, and then click Notify. The Notify wizard displays. 6. On the first screen, complete these fields: Notification Type * Select Recurring Alert from the list. To whom and by which contact method? * Select the recipient or recipients to receive the alert notification and the method by which they will receive it. For example, one recipient may receive notifications in their SureClose Inbox, whereas others may receive notifications at an external address. 7. Click Next to continue to the next screen. 8. Complete these fields: When should this Alert be sent?* Define how often the alert should be sent. Type the number of days the alert should repeat. For example, if you want a weekly alert, type in every 7 days. Range of Recurrence* Select a start date from which the alerts should begin sending. If you want the alerts to end on a specific date, then type an end date. Recurring Alerts will stop sending when one of the following occurs; whichever happens first: End Date has been reached Task is marked complete* Recurring Alert has been deleted Exceptions include auto-notifiaction when task deadline is reached or edited; in either case, in order to stop recurring alerts from sending, verify the alert has an End Date. Specify the message to send * Select a message to send from the selection list. To preview the message text before sending, click Preview. Edit Specified Message Select this option if you want to edit the message text. Refer to Step 10 for instructions. If not, leave cleared. SureClose Professional Release s
7 Record the Reminder/Notification on the Status Page If you want to record the reminder on the Status page, select this option. If selected, permissions must be set for parties whom you want to access the reminder on the Status page. Refer to Step 14 for more information. 9. Click Next to continue to the next screen. 10. Complete these fields to edit the specified message. Subject * Type the subject line of your message. Message * Type the body of your message. Merge Fields If preferred, use pre-defined merge fields to create your message. Select a field from the list, and then click Add to add the field in the Subject or Message fields of the notification. 11. Click Next to continue to the next screen. 12. Complete these fields to attach documents to the notification: Select the SureClose pages and documents to be attached From the available list of documents, select any that you want to attach to the reminder, and then click Select. Notice the documents you selected display in the window below, Reorder selected Items to be attached. Reorder selected Items to be attached If needed, rearrange the order of the documents attached to the reminder by clicking the Move Down, Move Up, or Remove options. Combine documents and send as a single PDF Select this check box if you want to combine all documents and send as a single PDF file. If not, leave cleared. 13. Click Next to continue to the next screen. 14. If Record the Reminder/Notification on the Status page was selected, then permissions must be set to determine party access. 15. When all permissions have been set, click Finish. SureClose Professional Release s
8 New Task Notification Merge Fields Task notifications can be sent to parties on a file at any time. To further customize these messages, new task notification merge fields have been added and are available. At the Admin level, when creating Corporate or Global notification messages. At the File or Template level, when creating a new message using the New Message Editor. A #1 within a party role, such as SELLERFIRSTNAME#1 is used to identify the second person in that role. 9 SureClose Print Driver v2.2 Updates SureClose Print Driver has been enhanced with the following features. A new Create New file button has been added. Use this button to create a SureClose file while logged into the SureClose Print Driver. The Advanced tab has been enhanced to use SureClose Web Services. The SureClose Help has been updated to include the Create New File feature. The SureClose Print Driver v2.2 requires Microsoft.Net 3.5 framework. If your system does not have the correct version of.net framework you will be prompted to install it before continuing with the SureClose Print Driver. Refer to the SureClose Print Driver Installation Guide for complete installation instructions. Home Page Updates The Home page has been updated to include links to SureClose Print Driver v2.2 and Windows Vista 64 Bit Print Driver. New Internet Explorer 8 Compatibility SureClose is compatible with Internet Explorer 8.0.
