3 Overview SureClose Advantage 3.1 includes additional Admin features, product enhancements, and defect corrections for the migration of select SureClose Professional users. This document provides a brief explanation of what has been fixed and an introduction to new features implemented with this release. For more information about any of the new features, refer to SureClose Advantage Online Help and search for the specific topic. Deployment Date: September 16, 2011 Post-Installation Considerations After the new version has been deployed and prior to your logging in, it is recommended that you complete the following post-installation tasks: Delete Temporary Internet Files Delete Cookies Deleting Temporary Internet Files (MS Article ID: ) The Temporary Internet Files (or cache) folder contains web page content that is stored on your hard disk for quick viewing. This cache permits Internet or MSN Explorer to download only the content that has changed since you last viewed a web page instead of downloading all the content for the page every time it is displayed. Administrators can customize Temporary Internet File settings to prevent modifications. Contact your System Administrator if you cannot access the Internet Options dialog box or the General tab. Steps 1. Close Internet Explorer and any instances of Windows Explorer. 2. From the Start menu, point to Control Panel and then select Internet Options. The Internet Options dialog box displays. 3. On the General tab, locate Temporary Internet Files and then click Delete Files. The Delete Files dialog box displays. 4. If available, select the Delete All Offline Content check box and then click OK. A confirmation message displays asking if you are sure you want to complete the delete process. 5. To confirm, click OK. Note Be patient when performing this task, if the Temporary Internet Files folder contains a significant amount of web page content, then this process may take several minutes to complete. September

4 Deleting Cookie Files (MS Article ID: ) Files starting with the word Cookie may remain in the Temporary Internet Files folder even after opting to delete them. You can delete these files; however, it is recommended that you make a backup copy of cookies prior to deleting them because these files may contain information for a customized web page or login information for a website that you do not want to lose. If needed, contact your System Administrator for assistance or refer to MS Article ID: Steps 1. Close Internet Explorer and any instances of Windows Explorer. 2. From the Start menu, point to Control Panel and then select Internet Options. The Internet Options dialog box displays. 3. On the General tab, locate Temporary Internet Files and then click Delete Cookies. The Delete Cookies dialog box displays. A confirmation message displays asking if you are sure you want to complete the delete process. 4. To confirm, click OK. September

5 Features and Functionality This section introduces new features and functionality added to SureClose Advantage 3.1. New in This Release SureClose Advantage 3.1 A new Archive button has been added to the menu bar displayed on the File Summary page. Click this button archive a file. A new Delete button has been added to the menu bar displayed on the File Summary page. Click this button to delete a file. On the Transaction Summary Report, the Closing Date has changed to the Estimated Closing Date. Archived files with an Open or Active status no longer display on the Transaction Summary Report. Import codes can now be added or edited when adding or editing document placeholders. Improvements have been made to the process of splitting documents from the Documents page and also from Messages. A new edelivery feature has been added to the Documents page. Offices conducting eclosings with Mountain America Credit Union (MACU) can use this feature to electronically submit closing documents in.pdf format to the credit union. Additional general changes have been made to either correct or enhance the behavior of various functions. Refer to General Changes for more information. Several defects were corrected. Refer to Defects for more information. September

6 Files The following changes were made to the Files tab. Archive Files Based on your permissions, you can now archive files by selecting the Archive button from the menu on the File Summary page. Previously, this feature was only available in SureClose Professional. The Archive button label toggles between Archive and Unarchive based on the archive status of the file. The button label displays as Archive if the selected file is not archived. The button label displays as Unarchive if the selected file is archived. Archiving Files To archive a file, select the Archive button. The File Archive screen displays. You have the option to set the File Close Date or Status during the archive process. September

7 Activity Log Entries For tracking purposes, archiving a file creates an entry in the History Log. Each entry includes the date and time the file was archived, as well as, the date and time the file was last accessed. For complete step-by-step instructions, refer to SureClose Advantage Help and search for the topics labeled, Archiving Files. Delete Files Based on your permissions, you can now delete files. A new Delete File button has been added to the menu bar displayed on the File Summary page. Previously, this feature was only available in SureClose Professional. To delete a file, select the file from the Recent Files list, and then click Delete File. Once deleted, a confirmation message displays indicating the file was successfully deleted. Note: Deleted files do not display in the Recent Files list and cannot be searched for. 8 Transaction Summary Report The following changes have been made to the Transaction Summary Report: Closing Date has been changed to Estimated Closing Date Archived files are excluded from report Estimated Closing Date Sample Report Archived Files Modifications have been made to exclude archived files from the report. 9 Documents The following changes were made to Documents. Import Codes Based on your permissions, you can now add or edit import codes when adding or editing document placeholders. Previously, this feature was only available in SureClose Professional. Note: Special characters, such as: <, >, $, #, or ~ are not allowed. Adding Document Placeholder rs\adding Import Codes To add an import code, add a new document placeholder and type the Document Placeholder name. By default, the import code is automatically set to the placeholder name but can be changed if needed. Editing Document Placeholder rs\editing Import Codes To edit an import code, select to edit the document placeholder you want to work with. From the General Information tab, edit the Import Code field. 10 Document Splits Improvements have been made to the process of splitting documents from the Documents page and also from Messages. Splitting Documents from the Documents Page Previously, when splitting documents, you had to search for the file you wanted to split the document from. This has been modified. By default, the file you selected to split the document from automatically displays under File Search along with available placeholders. Splitting Documents from the Messages Tab Similar to splitting documents from the Documents page, you previously had to search for the file you wanted to split the document to. This has been modified. The last file searched now defaults and displays as the file you want to split the document to, along with available placeholders. 11 Searching Recent Files Notice a new Search from Recent Files check box has been added under File Search. Save time by limiting your search to only those files included in your Recent Files list. Clicking Search displays a list of Recent Files. Selecting a file from the list, displays available placeholders. September

12 edelivery A new feature, edelivery has been added for offices that conduct eclosings with Mountain America Credit Union (MACU). Using this features, offices can electronically submit closing documents in.pdf format to the credit union from the Documents page by selecting one or many documents to include. Similar to the erecording, the edelivery link displays at the top right corner of the Documents page. Selecting edelivery displays the edelivery page. From this page, you can submit a new edelivery or check the status of an edelivery. Submitting a New edelivery To submit a new edelivery, click New. A new page displays. September

13 Select the recipient name. At this time, Mountain America Credit Union is the only available recipient, others will be added in future releases. Also, type the Loan Number. The credit union uses this number to identify the documents within the edelivery package when it is sent. Under Available Documents, all available PDF documents display. Select the document you want to include, and then click Submit. A successs message displays indicating the documents have been successfully submitted for edelivery. Documents submitted for edelivery display with an edelivery icon on the Documents page. September

14 Checking Status Once an edelivery package has been submitted, click Check Status. This updates the Status column on the Documents grid with the latest status; for example, Pending or edelivered. 15 Calendar The following changes have been made to the Calendar tab. Taskss without a Due Date Enhancements have been made to search for and include tasks without a due date. Previously, these tasks could not be searched for or included in a calendar view. When creating a calendar view, select the date range to use for determining which taskss to include and display in the calendar. Tasks without due dates are included when the view is previewed or saved. 16 General The following general changes were made. Address: mysureclose.com Modifications have been made to remove the mysureclose.com address for users that do not have a SureClose Inbox. These users are either: Guests on a file who have been assigned the Basic application security profile Users who have not been assigned the Inbox security permission You will see these changes in the following areas: Party Details Contact Details Message Party Task Reminder Notifications Transaction Summary Report Document Distribute File Summary Page Report Merge fields New File Notifications Task Notifications/Reminders Corrections have been made to the behavior of task notifications and reminders. Previously, task reminders and notifications on tasks with a deadline based on the Contract Start Date (whose contract start date was null) would not be sent if the Contract Start Date was edited on the file. This has been corrected. Relative Deadline Types Corrections have been made to behavior of tasks assigned relative deadline types: Relative to Start Date, Relative to End Date, or Relative to Contract Start Date. Previously, changing the Start or Closing date of a transaction with a task assigned these deadline types caused incorrect calculations. This has been corrected to ensure relative dates are recalculated based on the new Start or Closing date of a transaction. Document Upload Notifications Corrections have been made to the behavior of deleting document upload notifications from the Inbox. Previously, deleting a document upload notification from the Inbox returned an error. As a result, another error would display when attempting to view the document uploaded to the placeholder. This has been corrected. September

17 Templates with Defined Terms Corrections have been made to templates with defined terms. Templates created in SureClose Professional used to create files in SureClose Advantage would return errors when attempting to add parties with a role of buyer, seller, listing agent or selling agent when terms were defined. This has been corrected. PDF Documents Modifications have been made to the Convert to PDF placeholder setting (only available in SureClose Professional) when a document is imported via web services or the document import process. Imported Via Web Services Schema 4 If the Convert to PDF check box is selected, always honor this setting when conflicting settings come from web services or another application such as SureClose Print Driver or SureScan. If the Convert to PDF check box is not selected, then honor whatever setting comes from web services. Imported Via Document Import Process If the Convert to PDF check box is selected, always honor this setting when conflicting settings come from web services or another application such as SureClose Print Driver or SureScan. If the Convert to PDF check box is not selected, then honor whatever setting comes from web services. Recent Files Modifications have been made to correctly display the company/corporation name in the Recent Files list when the list is sorted by List by Buyer/Seller, Seller/Buyer, or File Number/Buyer/Seller and the company/corporation is listed as the buyer or seller on the file. Previously, in this scenario, the company/corporation name displayed as Undefined. This has been corrected. September

18 Defects The following defects were corrected in SureClose Advantage 3.1: Modifications have been made so that when creating new files from a template, the DateLastAccess fields are updated with the date the file is created and not the date the template was created. Modifications have been made to prevent task reminder/auto-notifications from being sent to users without a SureClose Inbox. Corrections have been made to prevent errors when transferring messages to the Activity Log. Corrections have been made to ensure the Complete Tasks dialog box and Save button displays properly in Internet Explorer. Modifications have been made to ensure the Save and Cancel buttons display properly when splitting documents from the Documents page, as well as, when splitting and transferring documents from Messages. Corrections have been to prevent a system error from occurring when a user with View/Upload permissions is attempting to attach a document to a placeholder. Modifications have been made to correctly display the Create File button and File Details when creating a new file. September
